amahlala: I hate to disappoint you but I am a Republican. It does not matter that the Republicans threatened to stop unemployment benefits as it was not just the Republicans, Democrats also voted to stop the benefits if certain actions were not met.
It honestly does not bother me if someone wants to label me as being "lazy" or "worthless" based upon my current situation. I have been moderately well off and been poor in my life, neither of which have defined who or what I am. If it makes someone feel a bit better to call me names, then by all means, go for it. It does not hurt me in any way.
I have worked and paid taxes since I was fourteen years of age, I have lived the "American Dream," raised my family and no matter what socio-economic stage I am in at this point in my life, I know that I am better off than most and no worse off than than others.
The best I can do to try to change the situation is to continue to try to obtain employment, help my fellow man and to write my legislators to try make my little slice of the world better.

Democrats and Republicans share equal blame for the "mess" that we now experience. You cannot label one party (Republican) "bad" and another party (Democrat) "good." Each side shares equal blame as do the voters and non-voters of this country.

Pretty artistic spin twisting. But here is the facts. REP have always been for the private sector and the individual American...and main street America. That is were the job creation occurs. They don't force local or state gov't into long term binding union contracts that keep them from being balanced fiscally.
While on the other hand....DEM are the party of the give away, benefits and union contracts. The stifle American innovation and initiative with rules and regulations. Have kept the country from being energy independent and sought to drive the cost up gas up to promote green energy.
They would take sectors of the economy and basically socialize them into a big gov't model. Forcing American to live on the hand out the gov't.
The Wisconisn State Spending...the spending of the other state governments is largely the case of DEM management. And one only needs to see the last two of a DEM control Washington to see the effect there. Obama promised change...and we all got stuck with the tab....and now have change in our pockets.
