A young lady by the name of Connie B. Jones might need to learn that lesson. Ms. Jones sent me a wonderful email message yesterday ... brimming over with the milk of human kindness. Here's what Ms. Jones had to say:
"Good morning Mr. Boortz I understand you have a procedure being done on tomorrow, I hope the Dr. is a Quack, and you get what you deserve."Well isn't that special! I'm not quite sure just what it is that Ms. Jones thinks that I "deserve," but I'm led to believe by the language of her email, and her hope that my surgeon is a "quack," that it would serve me right if the results of my procedure turn out to be something other than optimum. That's fine ... this isn't my first rodeo, and this isn't the first time that I've received emails from people that wished me everything from mildly sick to dead. I'm just surprised that Ms. Jones decided it was a good idea to send this email while on the job (It was sent at 11:46 a.m.) and using her employer's email ... ending in "cwatlantatv.com" That's the email address used by folks employed by one or all of the following: CBS Atlanta, CW69 Cable 10 or News Talk 1380 WAOK. Naw ... you don't think that the person wishing me an unsuccessful out come today works for a competing radio station, do you?
No ... I don't wish any ill will on Ms. Jones. In fact, I actually sent here a one-word response to her email, that word being "thanks." At least she's thinking about me. Better to be despised than ignored.
Got a feeling there may be 1 postion open in Atlanta. Maybe we should email her and wish her luck on finding a new job.
