People blog about things that interest them or about things they wish to express. I would agree there are those who blog in order to push an agenda, whether about religion or any other topic.
As for me, I'm rather sick of seeing blogs that accuse others of being jealous, of being fakes of tampering with the views (that have since been removed), etc. Even worse are the blogs that bash on another member. EVERYONE should complain about those, but I guess people don't really care about those blogs as long as they are not the one being bashed. Those bloggers are most certainly pushing an agenda!
Nobody here is being paid to amuse you. If you're not sufficiently entertained by the blogs about religion, then just skip them.
This is an interesting subject really. I've pondered the question before, but I think that was before the internet made it so easy to research things. Anythings.
We know that the bible often speaks of sin (inequity) being passed down from parents to children, and yes the implication that such sin could emerge in a physical way, but genetically as in DNA? And yet it makes sense.
Waf, I think the majority of us feel the same way because we hold life as something to protect and to fight for. And if that life were eternal, don't you think we should feel even more strongly how important it is?
Glatlol, I don't think there's anything in the bible saying that Adam and Eve had only 2 sons. It's a good question and I've wondered about it myself. In fact, you may recall that Abel was killed by Cain so that left 1 son. It makes sense that Cain probably married a younger sister.
There are definitely those who seem like they came from a different planet or are the result of a scientific experiment run amok.
Waf, if our souls are immortal (just imagine it for a moment) and our time on earth was but a moment in our actual lifetime, would the death of our physical body be the worst thing that could happen to us, including my murder? I'm not in any way saying that killing is okay. I'm just asking a question...
Yes, Glatlol, I know this is a subject we don't see eye to eye on.
Still, don't you ever wonder how this world and all of us came to be? To me it just doesn't make sense that we could exist, live for a time and die and that is just it. It doesn't make sense to me.
I suppose some object to the truth of the gospels due to the fact that it is written by men as opposed to women. The writers of the texts were men. That is a fact. But the author of the books of the bible is God and God is neither male nor female.
Some truths are "inconvenient", but nonetheless true.
Punxy Phil has such a swelled head from the annual entourage of adoring fans that gather 'round him every year. He no longer cares whether he sees his shadow or not. He rather enjoys messing with our heads.
Northranger, I can tell you know a lot about this. You're right, there is a lot of information out there and it's amazing. What amazes me the most is how our government in the US seems bent on selling everyone on "healthy whole grains" such as wheat, when it's the single most destructive thing you can put in your mouth. Unless, as you say, its genetically close to one or a blend of the wheat that was around before hybridization and GM. I haven't really missed wheat enough to go looking for unmutilated varieties, but I'm hearing more about it on this blog. I'm grateful for any information!
Personally, I am working on eliminating more than wheat. Additives, hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated oils, etc are things I am learning to live without. But wheat is #1 and so I decided to share some info on wheat. You have to start somewhere.
What is the condemned oil your speak of? Maybe coconut oil?
Wht, that is so cool! I too have noticed a difference in my skin tone. I keep thinking I'm just seeing what I want to see. Maybe. Time will tell.
The wheat used to make pasta is far less altered than other most wheat. I don't know why. But I've often noticed that pasta doesn't have nearly the (painful) effects on me that bread does. I guess that's why.
Maryrachelle, that's an excellent point! Gluten intolerance is marked by presence of certain antibodies in your system. Those antibodies react strongly to gluten. But gluten is not the only part of modern wheat the is hostile to the human body. It's just the most notorious one.
By the way, weight loss isn't the only thing thats happened to me. I think more clearly and can work longer (I have a high-demand job, so that's a God-send to me), and I feel much more positive and less stressed. I have a few other well-known ailments and those are either improved or much improved.
I'd be really curious to know what has improved for you. Feel free to shoot me an email if you'd like to share.
Redex, you're right. Some people are genetically more predisposed to cancer than others. But I have to wonder if eating foods that encourage the growth of cancer is not creating the opportunity for cancer.
Kinda like any and every time you get in your car and drive somewhere there is the potential for an accident. We all know that safe drivers operating safe cars have fewer accidents than careless drivers driving vehicles with safety issues.
If we avoided foods that had harmful reactions when digested, would we be creating an environment that is hostile to cancer as well as other diseases? I think most nutritionists would unhesitatingly say yes to that.
Boban, I hear ya. All of my fav foods involved bread in some form or another. At this point I don't miss it. I gave in once and I felt like absolute hell for the next day and a half. It wasn't worth it.
Serendipity, I know you well enough to know that you would not interpret the Scripture subjectively. But I have to ask by what Scripture you know this?
Thank you so much for this blog, velsix. I've begun to notice that a type of ice melter is now available at pet stores and even Wal-Mart that is safe for animals here in the states. Hopefully, the product is also available in other countries.
