@Elmo... No, I am not Emma. IF I was Emma, I would have stuck sticky notes to his forehead while he was sleeping.
So, you live in hope of owning Professor Henry Higgins' library too?
@Waf...I was straightening out my books today and my father was visiting, he said much the same thing. I simply smiled and shook his head and asked him what channel was going to cover some of the topics I had in front of me.
@Claudine... You are welcome, Claudine. It amused me too!
@ Cuddling... While I can read news online , I cannot access the books I like to read. I have a few spare if you would like to remember what paper is like.
St Elmo... when you are lost in a book, it's so hard to accept that there is another reality occurring around you. So I understand how easy it is to lose yourself in a book.
I have not entered the market of E-books, I still savor that paper touch. It's one of my weaknesses... I have books piled up... and so much reading that I could literally lock myself away for weeks, if I had the time, and lose myself in some incredible literature.
I was sent an amusing clip a few days ago that you might find amusing, if you trust me that the link is safe.
Oh yes, Europe is at your fingertips and it's the area that intimidates me. Everyone in Europe is conversant in at least two languages and I am rather limited with English. Although, if things go to plan... this is the year that I set foot in your back yard ( so to speak)
Bogart, I adore scintillating conversations too...but I am afraid that those people who don't explore their world usually fall short on conversation too. ( For me , anyways) I love hearing about experiences , other cultures... Just as much as I like witty repartee
George, my problem is I want to know everything yesterday. I am quite glad that there is so much to learn, and that the quest is a long one... but sometimes I lose perspective because I look at the shiny stuff instead.
Ed, that is not entirely true. You do care or consider what others think or do... While you may not change or alter your actions, you do give it some thought.
Thank you, Claudine. It's been really lovely to meet you by the way. I believe one of my favorite bands is big where you come from... Within Temptation?
Not exactly, Claudine. I believe opportunitys are presented to us, and we make of them what we will. I have been disappointed in life, but this is not one of those times. He was quite charming; we laughed;we talked; he sang... It was quite interesting. However, we were also chalk and cheese.
I think everyone who crosses our lives will teach us something... even if they just cross it as a warning.
Claudine... Another thing that bothers me is the lack of honesty. However, I guess people have their reasons for it. I dated a man a few months ago and I thanked him for his interest and told him we had nothing in common, but it was lovely to have met him. He struggled with how honest I was, but isn't it preferable to know? I wasn't rude to him, I just prefer honesty myself...so I offer it to others. I do not see that the dates were a waste of my time, like others would have, I saw them as interesting while they lasted , and a great deal of fun. It's nice to look back without any regrets.
@Fotinia... Thank you. You always know when to arrive with a drink...
I think we all dream... attaining dreams is the challenge. This one is not simple , it involves someone else and as such, it may well be unattainable.
@Claudine... Essentially I agree, that is what we want . Although some people hold an image in their head that is not achievable. Such as the 'Perfect Man'... I would happily settle for 'perfect for me'.
We call them 'caravans' here too. Ahhh life is about to get so exciting... I wonder if we will ever have lions here... The most I really have to worry about is a wayward snake.
RE: CAN YOU THINK OF A BAND OR SINGER THAT STARTED --
Somehow this just seems appropriate.
