Mike, you are telling me to play with a younger man? Methinks I would prefer to be a spinster than to go through that. Thank you for the thought though.
Benni, I have used one of those, but it feels like it was eons ago. As I have no talent with a camera and rely solely on luck, it's a good thing cameras are made well these days.
KNenagh... I jumped onto the ants nest when I arrived home. I was sent to Melbourne for a week with the company I work with and the social engagements heat up at this time of year.
You truly live in a beautiful country though... I would love to see more.
Mike, so far...so good. I think as time goes on , it's going to be harder to distinguish photos over time. Right now, everything is fairly fresh for me.
KNenagh ... I promised you I would post photos and I have been very negligent because I have been so busy since returning to Australia. I have thought of you often though. Thank you for coming to look at the photos.
Welela... I agree, the US is fascinating. I have some wonderful memories of all the trips I made there. However, Europe is harder to travel in because of the language differences for me.
German engineering fascinates me, Ken. Not that I know the intrinsic details of it, but they seem to surpass other countries with what they achieve and when they achieve it. Recently when I was in Germany, I noticed they don't have older cars on the road and their cars... well suffice to say, for most people, owning one is a dream. ( And yes, I would have LOVED to drive on the Autobahn... unfortunately I didn't get the opportunity)
I believe you when you say he would complain anywhere, I think he is intrinsically motivated to do so. People's natures often hold true.
As for 'dumping' people with mental illnesses... Yes, we had a place locally. What is worse, leaving them on the streets for others to deal with , or giving them three meals a day in a safe environment. I am not sure I have the right answer. I do know that the men in blue spend a lot of time locally looking for the 'lost' ones, or dealing with issues that arise because of their intergration in society.
Diplomacy is required, Mike. While I represent my company, it would not be advisable to make a scene or to be sarcastic...( which would be a very natural response for me)
I do find it interesting to hear the opinions of people though and I often wonder where they get their ideas from. I also saw this man's demeanor change once he felt he was in charge (by sitting at the head of the table) at the lunch table. Maybe his issue was as simple as dealing with a female in charge of a group.
Z... dinner parties at my house have always been interesting. Most of my friends will say what they are thinking, so either it's going to be an interesting evening, or a riotously funny one.
Bogart, while I am representing the company I work for, I had to hold my tongue. Fortunately I was somewhat bemused by the experience, simply because he made himself look foolish.
itsimpossible-- He was in power for a reason. He did have good ideas, however he implemented them badly, showed signs of megalomania and overstepped his mark.
I believe my point with the man at the 'talk' is that he was Greek living in Australia... As he is a product of multiculturalism... does he have the right to bemoan it?
I believe they had 'server' issues, so the site was down. Nice to see you... It's interesting when a site goes down like that, you aren't sure whether to lay back and enjoy the moment... or to be nervous.
My European adventure...
KNenagh...suffice to say I am smiling.
