I have wondered about Privacy a great deal lately actually. I am currently training staff for a new ticket system in the state. What people do not realise is the long term implications for this system really is that Big Brother may be watching you. Because it runs with a gated system, allowing you access only if you tap the card... essentially they will know who traveled where and when. When I thought about it, some of the movies in the last decade are no longer as bizarre as they first appeared when they were predicting our future.
The Age newspaper had an article in it a couple of years ago saying that we are limiting ourselves with frivolous information at our fingertips. We no longer read about things in depth, but rather we google the information to find quick answers.
I guess that is how it has become with Facebook too... most of what we know about our friends we have read on there, because life being so busy these days, we don't make the time to go and have coffee or lunch with them and really talk.
Of course there are always exceptions. I like to catch up with everyone at least once a year, but even then... some years I just can't do the rounds ( so to speak)
I like my privacy too...so I would not put anything pertinent about myself in the public arena.
@Fotinia--Mornings are always for tea/coffee...Agreed. Once I start my work week, I abstain unless I am out for dinner, and then I have my standard ' one ' drink.
Thank you for the laughs... I do hope you have a wonderful week too.
@Leon-- I like the way you think, except I live about forty five minutes away from family and friends and I am a shift worker. I do recall having moments like that when I was younger though, that I would invite 'randoms' around and we used to have a wonderful time.
That is certainly some useful advice. Although I might kill off our native koalas were I to take up karoake. :)
Sometimes I can find the balance, other times it's a matter of keeping my head above water. Lately is one of those times. It's probably a good thing that I am not really scared of sharks.
The photo was taken a couple of days ago. I am 44 and I have reasonably good genetics. Thus the reason people often mistake me for being younger...They mistake me for being nice too. :) See, they DO get things wrong!
That was rather sweet though. Thank you.
Cuddling... I work rotating shift work... I know how hard it can be.
I think if I was sharing the journey with someone, I would feel more fulfilled ...but because I have been successfully doing it alone...it's taken me a long time to question what is missing in life.
Tiddly-golf... now there's a sport I might be able to do. After all, I know how to drink... and hopefully no-one will notice how deplorably I play golf after a few drinks.
hmmmm.. Parti, I am a bit lost with your last statement. Is that a perception based on initial appearances?
St Elmo-- I do have a garden, about 30 or so rose bushes in there and I have flowers all year around. It's beautiful. AND I have piles of books. AND CD's ... I love exploring music.
Although I rather like your other suggestions... cycling has long held some appeal, the only problem is getting started.
Yesterday in one of those spare moments, I took my mother out for the day to see Chitty Chitty Bang Bang... However, that meant I lost time for staring into the abyss and losing myself in refractions of time. I would not have it any other way though.
RE: are we?
Good Morning Fotinia...Well it's morning here.
I am not sure I could live in a cave... Who would save me from lions and bears?
