Bushwalking

It was a lovely day out, Z.

This area has lovely trees, but it simply depends on what area of Australia you live in. Beach areas have scrub-like trees.

...grin Although I must say, a tea party sounds lovely!

Bushwalking

Iotaoo ...Yes, the country girl comes out in me...often.

300-500 km's ... that would be a weeks worth of hiking? That is incredible... How many individuals participate in this activity?

Hello Welela,

I am sorry to hear you haven't been well. You may come with me :) I know how important nature is to you.bouquet

Hey there Johnny,

America certainly has some amazing places to explore. I haven't been to Michigan, but I am assured there are some amazing places. I loved Texas, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming ... and a few other states. The parks there are just beautiful.

Hello Angel,

I have called Mike many things, but never a 'brush'... hmmm, not sure what to make of that... Use him for my hair?

I recall once when I was in Texas with a friend and he suggested going 'hiking' ... I looked at him and said, "Bushwalking, you mean?"... He laughed at me and told me I was a weird Australian.

Hello Serene,

I had no idea you perused the blogs...it's nice to see you.

I find there is something incredible about being out in nature and losing yourself in it. I really enjoyed today... I must make more time for it.

RE: A man to admire.....

...a moment of Truth.

The road to recovery

After traveling to other countries, Mike ... I can see why we are advertised as "the lucky country"

The road to recovery

Thank you, LouLou...

I often have to drive up the freeway to go past this, and I have wanted to stop and take photos for weeks now. Alas, it's a no-no stopping on a freeway. AND they have been working on the area, so usually it's restricted. This last weekend, I thought I would try the subsidiary road as I was in Morwell for an appointment.

The road to recovery

Iotaoo... Truly there is something about Nature's regenerative properties, it's truly amazing to behold.

The road to recovery

So, we just take the Australian out of Australia???

The road to recovery

Thank you, Bogart. I love how nature will rejuvenate...it's very beautiful to observe.

The road to recovery

Virgo, you would not concrete the area simply because there is a risk next year. That would be somewhat insane. smile

The scrub is very reduced in this area, so the chances of this occurring anytime in the near future is very low.

The road to recovery

Yes, Scott... the recovery is awesome. You can see the beautiful green grass now and it wasn't too long ago that it was simply grey charcoal.

Gosh I can't believe a year has passed and it's Mike's birthday again! cake happy birthday

RE: Happy April Fool's Day

Happy Birthday cake

I hope you have a wonderful birthday. hug

RE: that time of year again.

Daylight Savings is a week away here too, Benni. I always live in fear I will be late for work.

But I am sure you will be fine...hug

RE: that time of year again.

laugh I am sure you will survive another year, Benni.

RE: Join the movement -Earth Hour on March 29, 2014

For who exactly, Ajkaorjun ???...This is not done in one country. This is something that is shared globally.

RE: Join the movement -Earth Hour on March 29, 2014

Greetings Iotaoo. I am exceptionally well, thank you for asking. And yourself?

I regularly limit myself with lighting, electrical appliances... simple life, simple needs. smile

RE: Join the movement -Earth Hour on March 29, 2014

It's a shame this only happens once a year.

RE: not sure what to do...

May I suggest you invite your family, even if they say no... My brother married a Scottish lady several years back and we were not invited. Later when we asked him about it, he excused his behaviour by saying the flights were expensive. Both my oldest brother and I could afford to have travelled for it.

If your family does say no, at least you have included them. :)

RE: Relationships: love vs compatibility

Itchy, this is completely off topic... But I really love Eva Cassidy's work. bouquet

RE: Relationships: love vs compatibility

... the crux of the issue here is that people do in face misconstrue things. Quoting yourself earlier---" Love is impulsive...compatibility nowhere in the sight at the point of time."

This is personal experience and therefore it's based on your personal emotive response. What if someone were to meet at a dance night, both individuals were passionate about dancing... and there was physical attraction as well. Compatibility might well be quite high considering they met at an event that they were both passionate about.

RE: Relationships: love vs compatibility

iotaoo... Love is impulsive? Whilst it can be, it is not wholly defined by that. Look at your love of nature, the love of a child, the love of a friend...

If you look the definition of 'love' ... I don't believe the word 'impulsive' is mentioned. That is attributed by personal experience by individuals.

RE: Relationships: love vs compatibility

I believe they go hand in hand. Perhaps you are mixing passion up here. With compatibility you will love the person for who they are.

RE: Anger; Right Or Wrong???

Anger can incite one to act, to respond... It's not a completely wasted emotion. I would hope that anger incites someone to intervene when a person is being hurt... or if they are being discriminated against.

Although , I do believe it needs to be contained quickly or it can impair judgement.

... just my two cents worth.

RE: say something witty or interesting

Benni, I usually rely on you being left of centre... And now you expect US to entertain YOU. That's a bit much. wink

RE: I like someone from near the land down under

Hello Calli, well you should visit! You would love New Zealand... it's almost old fashioned in some ways. Untouched and ... exceptionally beautiful.

RE: Will I live long enough to finish it ?

Well, Z... at least your heart was in it. You would have invited us... had you known. grin
