I would even take a step further by saying, "what we see in others, we usually have in ourselves"
This is what is called in psychology : our dark shadows and our light shadows. ie. if you see in a person how nice/good/kind/ etc. they are, is because we also have those qualities in ourselves - which are often denied, unfortunately!
People act as our "mirrors" - and animals as well! I work with horses, who are very sensitive creatures, and they always reflect to people their own personal issues. A horse will behave differently with different person, if they have anger, frustration, fear etc. issues.
Dreaming of a house represents SECURITY... The Windows ...something we're looking for outside when ..in facts...the answers lie within.
We have to search right deep into our subconscious ...maybe some kind of hidden potential? ...instead of looking for external validation and answers which we already know.
Well, I am glad that I haven´t got that problem! I am always fully conscious when I write and in full capacity of my physical, emotional and mental faculties.

I understand perfectly what you're saying Ladyimp.
As you say...if they don't want to know..just walk away.
Only I was talking here about people who are actually asking for advice and guidance...whether it being on line or up close and personal.
When they keep repeating themselves over and over again being really assertive about it.... My favourite sentence is: Who are you trying to convince...Me..or Yourself???
Then they become speechless but you can hear the little wheels in their brain going round and round....and voilà!
Ladyimp...people don't usually know they're fooling themselves as they're not doing it consciously. It's part of their "shadows" which are burrried deep in the subconscious.
They only know when they're made aware of it and then...only then...can they do something about it if they're prepared to do the work.
When I talk to people (during work or personal), when they´re doing their upmost to convince me they are right, or justify themselves about a certain behaviour, I listen for a while then I ask: "Who are you trying to convince? Me? or Yourself"??? Then they become speechless.
Ash has made a very good point here regarding the dynamic of a group. I work in groups, organise workshops and the same applies. When someone leaves, the energy is cut off and I cannot allow them, or anybody else to come in later and participate. It just doesn´t work.
