Russia!

Well, USSR wouldn't be the right name for the country :)

Possibly visiting the New York next year!

I am not spending the whole week in New York City. I am being picked up at the airport by my friend, and we are gonna drive to Troy. It's a three hour drive (according to Google). If my friend isn't available, then I'll just see if I can go somewhere else. Like maybe Vegas or something. Maybe go to Nashville or possibly to Dallas. It all depends on what my friend says. But so far, I am definitely gonna go to the US :).

I might spend a few hours in NYC, just to say I have experienced the city. But yes, it looks absolutely stunning, and I cannot wait to go there!

Feedback from Greece!

Jim: In the US, I am mainly looking for data entry roles, since I have two years experience with that. I also spent some time in a grocery store, so customer service is also a skillset of mine.

All the data entry roles I have looked at, requires just 6 months experience, so it's not like I am struggling there. My last proper employment was in a cinema, so again, the customer service is something I have nailed.

Whenever I apply for a job, I make sure to apply for one, which matches my skillset. But nothing has happened yet :). I will keep looking, though

Going on national tv!

Ha laugh.. Not THAT kind of Slipknot.. The band..

Job interview later today!

Nice2meet: I haven't received an official mail back from the army yet. I have applied. I am just waiting for the reply from them. In the meantime, I'd like something to do, which means going to Greece to work :)

RE: A Liberal's paradise

I live in a country where Universal healthcare is a thing, and education is free. People even get paid here to get an education, and they aren't bankrupted when they decide to do something with their lives.

There are also a VERY strict ban on guns. The last time we had a school shooting was in 1994. That was the first and only time that ever happened.

Of course you can get guns here illegally, but you can't go into a supermarket to buy a gun. The only people who have unrestricted access to guns are the military and law enforcement.

Of course, this whole thing with free healthcare and free education really isn't free. We pay taxes for that. Currently, the tax rate for Denmark in December 2018 was 55.8%. If you earn more than $77276 per year, you pay 15% more. This is a tax known as the wealth tax.

The tax bracket in the US in December 2018 was just 37%. Imagine what you could to with a 3% increase in taxes! And if the rich paid their share of tax.

Freedom isn't free, but it feels good to pay towards it!

Birthday today!

Namaron: The fit age for soldiers and conscripts in the Danish army is 49. I don't know where you have found that the max age is 30. I will receive a reply on my application soon, so then I will know if I am able to join :)

Post-election - now what?

I don't believe it will come to that, at all. WWIII is still a fair distance away, I think

I have decided to join the army.

Tropic - I think the US military, which I assume you are talking about, is VERY different from the Danish military.

But I will ask all the questions if I get selected for further consideration. I can say no if I find a job before the second half of 2020

I have decided to join the army.

miclee - I have pretty strong sea legs laugh

I have decided to join the army.

mollybaby - I have thought of going to a shooting range, but the thing is, there aren't any here. There are shooting clubs, but they are not using military grade weapons. It's mostly air rifles and such. I am joining the army to serve my country, and if that involves getting deployed and shooting a gun, then that is what I am going to do :). Hopefully I won't be required to kill anyone

RE: America Sends 130,000 Tons Of US Diplomacy To The Middle East

You mean 130.000 tons of death and destruction?

The Night Comes For Us - a review!

Not a lot. The ending is quite sad, but other than that, it's a full on barrage of blood, gore and broken bones

I responded to a casting call!

This is the synopsis for the show: "We are at a restaurant. Couples are chatting, friends are eating dinner together, some guest asks for more wine. A little girl is sitting by the window. Today is her birthday and she is celebrating with her mother. Suddenly the door opens. Two men enter. Carrying automatic weapons they start shooting. Cut to 10 days earlier. We meet our eight leading characters in medias res - in the lives they happen to be living, with happiness and challenges big and small, and the unencumbered feeling that life will last forever. But we know that something is inevitable and the journeys our characters are making suddenly become tales of destiny."

It really sounds like my kind of show!

Top Ten Florida Man Misadventures!

I see what you did there laugh

Clever!

RE: The Danish National Symphony Orchestra performs

This is one of those moments where I can say that I am proud to be a Danish citizen!

Bohemian Rhapsody - a review!

itchywitch - That's Michael Myers :D. Mike Myers is a different Mike Myers.

Jim - That commercial is amazing! Thank you for sharing it!

Loneliness, the weekend and more

laugh

My mental state is strong, but sometimes I can feel it crack. At those times, I put on some music to help me deal with it. I use music as my therapy, and it helps

Losing a parent!

itchywitch, I know my original post made it look like I was abandoning him to himself, but for the sake of it being able to fit into the blog, I left it out. Apology accepted

Losing a parent!

Dear itchywitch.

I didn't run out on my father. Around the time I left, I was still confident that he would be able to be cured from the illness. Up until that point, I had no idea what COPD was, and how brutal the disease is.

I also had no idea how bad the COPD would be when I left. I arrived back in Denmark in 2016, when his illness was at its worst. I spent the next two years helping my father whenever I could. That was often every single day. I helped him shop, cook and clean. When I got a job in Copenhagen, I would still help him. Sometimes I went to the hospital and the doctor with him. I was the person who helped him the most, out of everyone. I did NOT abandon my father to die. Saying that I did that - not cool!

I effectively put my social life on standby during those two years. The only interaction I had with people, was either via social media, or my job at the cinema. But even after all the help I gave him, after all the attention I gave to him, I still felt like I could do more. Even when I spent every second weekend on his sofa, I still felt like there was much more I could do for him. It annoyed me that I wasn't able to cure him with the snap of a finger.

So dear itchywitch - I did NOT abandon my dad!

RE: SAMSUNG is to start work on the first ever smart TV that can be controlled by the user's mind

This reminds me of the scene in X-Men 2 (I believe it was), where a child is changing the channel by blinking his eyes! Mind control is scary, but intriguing at the same time!
