What’s the point, the police are rarely interested in what they call petty crime, such as a mugging or car theft, they want to carry out shootings or high speed car chases, the idea of actual detection is way beyond the capabilities of the average bobby on the street.

I'm sorry the shooting was a comment by Ray who supported your train of thought it was a crass and uncalled for comment by Ray.

Your view is not awful, but I genuinely believe that there is more to it than just aliens, yes they create a problem, tough its life get over it, and instead of moaning (Not you specifically) find a way to get these people real jobs maybe within the health service, get them to pay taxes which can support the departments that are needed to look after them, and get the super rich consultants to get off their fat butts and do some pro bono work.

Oh don't get me wrong, I loved my time in the US and if I had got the work visa I would have stayed, but eventually I had to leave and missed one amnesty by a few months, when I was with the Race car teams, they arranged all my visas and there were no problems, it was when I was working my way around Canada and the US that I could not get a visa, at that time you had to be sponsored and I wasn't, I was moving from Town to town working my way across the country, I never had a problem getting work because of my background, like I said it was the way I was treated sometimes by the immigration dept that just got to me.

Why harder and more selective?

I taught my co-workers how to repair computer boards, they had no idea how to even replace a blow chip (IC) on a board let alone fault find, I was an asset to each company I worked for as my background in Electronics was far superior to many in my trade, but I was made to feel like a criminal at times over the green card problems.

By making it easier to get a visa you open up a whole new world where America can benefit from those with skills lacking in the US, that has to be a good thing surely.

Then again would Jesse have been allowed to come to Ireland to marry you, I am not sure if you have the same immigration as the UK but, when my cousin married her guy was from the US, he was not allowed to stay more than 90 days and they were not granted a license to marry, they returned to the US and married there, now he can visit whenever.

But, I do think that some are blaming the failure of the US health system on Illegal aliens as just an easy target, the health system is failing due to greed, pure and simple

Consultants paid humongous salaries and only work 5 hours a week

Management paid extortionate wages yet cannot organise a pissup in a brewery.

Doctors being sued for making the slightest misdiagnosis has created a brain drain, so those that remain want higher pay.

Pharmaceutical companies allowed to charge ridiculous prices for drugs which could be made and sold for a fraction of the price paid by hospitals

This is all bringing down the health service, not a few illegals who give birth or need a broken leg set.

It loses the whole point of a forum, a thread is a place for discussion, like the US medical one, informative and interesting.

But that is not always true, I worked in both Canada and America, I paid taxes in both countries, I applied over and over and over again to get a work visa and was refused each time, yes it is easy to get false papers, it was what I had to do,it was not my fault the immigration dept would not issue a visa.

I did not drain the system, did not claim SS did not send money home.

When your immigration dept gets its act together then maybe a vast proportion of those illegal can actually pay their way and help your country's economy recover

Maybe I am misunderstanding something, but are you guys saying that an illegal alien who has an illegal job, who gets knocked over by a car/bus/truck whatever, should be left to die??????

What about the girl, brought over from abroad by some wealthy American, used and abused and kicked out when he's bored, she has no money nothing and suffers a heart attack, do you just expect her to crawl away like some bug,

I am sorry, this is not a civilized way to treat an animal let alone a human.

My understanding was that there were two tiers of medical system, one is payed for by tax and is free to use, the other is financed by insurance, health plans etc, is this no long the same?

Not every young woman wants to party every night, my ex was 20+ years younger, we were together for 7 years, our separation had nothing to do with age, we had everything in common, from taste in music and art, to sharing sports from our love of History to Travelling, I never thought of her as a trophy wife or ego boost, but she was my best friend and still is, I would agree that she made me feel young and vibrant, is that bad???

It's about £600 (appox $950)for a full UK visa for a married spouse to live permanently in the UK, with no guarantees and no refund

Is it?? Why does there have to be a motive? If I am attracted to someone then I am attracted, there does not need to be a motive.


Surely a man who manipulates women will do so whatever their age, in fact I would say a younger girl is LESS likely to be manipulated in this way, they always know they can walk and find someone else, some older woman (No disrespect) may feel they would end up alone.

I genuinely think that if the love is real then there is no problem, I would not actively seek out a much younger girl, but if circumstances caused a friendship which then became romantic, why would I worry about age?

I found Canadian immigration far easier than US both to apply and to get visa, but would say that when my 6 months ran out in Vancouver, I went to Seattle for a week returned with another 6 months lol, same in the sates, my visa was running out when I reached Austin in Texas, so popped down to the Mex border, spent the weekend their and had my visa renewed, I thought it was hilarious, in the UK you had to stay outside for 3 months min I believe before you can renew a visa.

Mind you this was a fair few years ago no so may have all changed, my cousin worked in Vancouver illegally for 5 years, then the Government had an amnesty for all the Illegals, she applied and got full visa and two years later Canadian Citizenship.

I hope it all works out for you, I am sure it will, but as you say it is frustrating and stressful.
As far as I am aware there is no "Cultural" sessions in the UK for immigrants, you either get a visa for a set period of time or no visa.

I have just applied for a visa for another country I wish to visit, will be interesting how quick that arrives,and now have had an email with details of the medical required it will cost a small fortune here in Italy (375 £) so going over to the UK to get it slightly cheaper.

I will keep you posted.

I also agree. I cannot see borders being removed, your average joe/ess in the street would rebel before a world dictatorship occurred, countries like Australia would just close their entry ports and repel everyone who approached Plus the last thing the US need is thousands of unskilled workers arriving and demanding state handouts, health support etc. Just not going to happen IMO.
