I play guitar, bass, keyboard, and blues harp, along with a smattering of drums from the past 4 years. Don't know about recording right now as all my recording related equipment is at the band house.
I'm competent at backup vocals and do some blues-related singing with my own compositions, but I'm not into being a steady lead singer for anything. More into playing blues guitar in my spare time.
Common sense can't be taught by television. Its a commodity that comes through life experience, and not through a video game. Common sense comes through a society that haggles for its goods, and doesn't meekly accept that the value of things is more than a MSRP or blue-book figure, but is dependent on the demand/supply of its marginal utility.
Common sense in short isn't common at all. Not in today's standard. Common sense is whatever we're told it is.

And again, its all about what we really need, as compared to what we think we do.
Asking for a sackful of money isn't going to make us happy or provide us with what we really need. What we're really here for is to gain wisdom, and by suffering the deprivation of not having each and every wish granted as soon as we ask for it, we gain wisdom.
Wanting something for free and getting it doesn't happen. Wanting something bad enough to make sacrifices and/or change the way we do things and putting wisdom into action, brings us what will actually make us happy, even if its the wisdom gained by falling short of our own standards.
This goes back to my points on synchronicity without ever touching on or requiring a Judeo-Christian God. Ask and you shall receive is dependent on what we actually need and not what we think we need.
That's the way they are trained. The battlefield is not the place for reflection or philosophical debate. "Kill them all and let God sort it out." is the Art of War from the viewpoint of the grunt.
I'm a big fan of some of the concepts in Heinleins "Starship Troopers" story. Not the crappy Hollywood version, but the book.
I don't think any man or woman should be eligible for commander in chief unless they've slogged through the same mud as those he orders into harms' way. Civilians simply don't understand what the Military are about. Not the JCS, the common grunt that just wants an education, and is willing to serve his country in exchange.
The interrogators at Gitmo just testified in Congress that Army Field Manual Techniques of interrogation are more effective than "enhanced" interrogation, ie waterboarding. These people are trained to resist "enhanced" interrogation, because they consider themselves martyrs.
Common courtesy and psychological interrogation techniques go a long ways toward belying what they've been taught about us. All torture does is confirm the propaganda they've been fed about us.

I assume nothing. My family was wiped out financially by the Keating 5. The lesser of two evils is the man who hasn't done anything to me yet, as compared to the man who was involved in putting my family in the poor-house. And got a slap on the wrist for "questionable judgment".
Questionable Judgment? Oh yeah, I'd be happy with that in the White House.
To balance this out, I'm not all that impressed with Obama's judgment as of now, either, but I voted on the possibility of change, as compared to the certainty of status quo. Yes my vote may come back to haunt me. But I was already haunted by McCain. No way was I going to vote for Mr. Lincoln Savings and Loan.
I'd like people to stop complaining about Obama's possible socialist agenda without taking into account that Bush set up the need for the publicizing of the industries through his bailout plan. He's no better or worse than the previous President and is in fact following the same playbook.

I don't have friends or enemies. I have people who talk to me and people who don't. If they consider themselves one or the other, that's a personal delusion I would feel bad about disabusing them of.
Life is good. I met my sweetie on this site, and she's coming back in June.
And now that I've found her, I'm trying to figure out why I'm still on this site. Its not for the excitement. Some nights I switch off between CS and watching paint dry. Just for variety.
