I assumed, Jeffrey, that she meant another woman, because I couldn't see much point to her thought-experiment otherwise (as a contrast to the other parallel thread/thought-experiment on this page).
Well, I think you're being a bit harsh on those conspiracy-believers, Gary. I think it's possible that those who believe the Bush Administration conspiracy theory aren't stoners, but rather are exceptionally gullible, no?
I would find it beyond surprising if onions placed around the house could in any way affect flu transmission. I don't see any logical mechanism for this occurring.
I've never observed any medicinal effects from eating onions and garlic, though I still eat them on general principle (based on my readings of possible/likely health benefits). I have observed consistently repeatable effects from crystal vitamin C, zinc, and DHEA. That's the full extent of it.
I took large amounts of Vit C in pill form as a young man after reading Linus Pauling's book. I observed no ameliorating effects, so I stopped that practice, switching to Zinc (after reading of its possible anti-bacterial/viral benefits). That consistently seemed to take the edge off my then-quite frequent colds.
Though I was no longer a Vit C-believer, one day when I was in the throes of a horrible and long-lasting cold, a friend of the family recommended I try a mega-dose of crystal C. I thought "what the hell," and tried it. Much to my surprise, my symptoms retreated with startling rapidity. I thought it might be a coincidence, but I purchased some crystal C for myself for more thorough testing later.
I've been attacked by hundreds of colds and "whatevers" since then, and crystal C in mega-doses has, from all appearances, stifled or even throttled the vast majority of these attacks. The rare exception would be a sore throat or sinus infection already well in progress (on occasions where I didn't take the C on first symptoms). Once these things have hold of me, the crystal C seems far less effective.
A number of those families are among the least satisfied with the mainstream explanation, and form the vanguard for those demanding a coherent explanation for what happened on that day.
Bin Laden denied his involvement at first. Then followed a "confession" tape that showed someone who bore little or no likeness to Bin Laden. The FBI obviously wasn't impressed with that tape, either, since he wasn't charged for that crime.
What's followed since then...well, it's hard to make sense of exactly what Bin Laden's saying and if in fact he's actually the one saying it...
All the more reason - rather than accepting this kind of nonsense - to fight the current evolution of Big Brother. I don't even like the show that much.
In the Summer of 91 I watched a glowing sphere above my house disappear as a fighter jet approached...
But that wouldn't convince me of anything. It was a lot of reading up on the subject, and talking to the brightest and best writers/thinkers on the subject, which ultimately persuaded me that crafts of non-human creation have been and are present here.
I think your computer screen pic is clever, Sassy. Yeah, Rapid City...the other side of the state from me...I drove through it awhile back - what a dump!
Depends what you're trying to accomplish, G. If I were wanting a powerful rationale for invading other countries, for in effect declaring war - not to mention scraping the US Constitution - then I'd be wondering if a couple of plane crashes into buildings and a relatively small number of casualties would be "enough."
Allergies can take a terrible toll on the body - agreed, J. I've heard the claim that one can lose, say, an allergy to one's own cats, but I'm not entirely convinced of that. Allergies have a way of migrating - that is, assuming other forms.
The jist of that seems to be that Bin Laden isn't wanted for the crimes committed on 9/11, Conrad. I'm not sure what you think refutes that in the above... I know he's wanted for other crimes.
RE: More proof coming out that 911 was an inside job
At least I'm not calling them a bunch of potheads. I'm thinking they're as a group probably more into Miller Lite or something...
