Powell has written or authorized several books and they are quite clear on what his role was during the build up to the Iraq war. If you had read them you would know that Powell had been in and out of the white house and pentagon since the Carter administration. He was and remains very smart as to the ins and outs of those organizations as well as congress and the state department. He has never allowed himself to be bullied into something and would never, ever present anything to the UN unless he believed it. We're talking about a 35 year Army vet who above anything else knows what integrity really means and certainly knows the difference between right and wrong. Powell would not have found the material himself, he would have received his intell from several agencies just as the members of congress and the white house did.
As far as his lack of endorsement goes, Powell has never endorsed anyone and he probably never will. As a military officer he would never have chosen a side in public but he did vote and he voted both republican and democratic. He also refused to run as VP with Bill Clinton. Didn't know that did you? If you took the time to read up on some of the people you quote, you would be much more informed and you would probably not fail to overlook the obvious fact that he hasn't endorsed Hillary Clinton or Obama. So I guess it's not so interesting after all is it.

Dude, I don't recall ever calling you any names. I have disagreed with you and still do. I see you as someone who is trying to support someone you believe in and that's about it regardless of how wrong I think you are.

But I believe Obama has come out and said he doubted he would have the troops pulled out of Iraq before the end of his first term. The only difference I see between the two on the issue of Iraq is one is being a little more frank than the other.
Obamas option is to pull combat troops out while leaving support troops in country to help with the establishment of Iraqi forces. This seems very similar to the Marines in Beiruit and the debacle in Somalia.
As far as the homeless GIs go, I would like to see where you got those figures from. Edwards tried to say the same thing and when checked the facts and figures he spoke of were non existant.
Healthcare is a problem and not just for vets. This is an issue we've been beating ourselves up over for years with zero results.
Who knows what will really happen. All politics are half lies with the other half being 100% pure BS. I will just be glad when it's over so we can all change the name(s) of the people we're complaining about

I would think that Notre Europe, chartered to "think a United Europe" would exercise a little more caution before releasing the results and/or jumping to conclusions over what is at best a questionable survey.
