I got a BB Gun for Christmas one year and the first thing I did was shoot a bird. I can still remember it like it was yesterday. To this date I have never been able to shoot or harm an animal.
Perhaps not individual gifts but there's much to be said for a special little something such as a choir performance or a play. Just something to let them know they aren't forgotten. If a little kindness helped one person it would be well worth the effort.
It's kinda strange but when I was in DC 6 years ago I volunteered at one of the homeless shelters. Not a prison ofcourse but we served many of the same clientel. There were some pretty rough people coming in and out of there but it was rare when you didn't see the appreciation in their eyes. And it was such an easy and rewarding thing to do.
Sure it's scarey but if you think about it, how many people outside of cyberspace do you really know, especially when it comes to dating someone new. It's just a little easier here to fool people because more information is received from nonverbal communication than by written. I guess the closest to reality one can get is via phone or cam but even that doesn't prove much. I think the best part of this is that people are a bit more guarded at the onset.
I am just finishing up a three month vacation after my retirement. I've done a little traveling, visited old friends and caught up with family. I knew there would be a break between careers so I prepared for it.
I was really feeling burnt out but now I have my batteries recharged and will be heading back out again. There's something to be said about taking time off to relax and spoil yourself.
Better late than never. Seriously, we all go or not besed on personal circumstances, beliefs, etc... I didn't graduate until 2000 so I was rather late getting started myself. I actually think I got more out of it than I would have if I had gone right after highschool
Well, I have the final job interview tomorrow morning so I need to get some sleep. Have a great night.
Really good point. I started out in a community college as well. Some transferred, some didn't. I don't know if I could have afforded the extra classes if I had not had tuition assistance.
May he rest in peace. It's clear he was loved by many and he reminded many of us of the importance of making sure our friends and loved ones know how we feel. Thanks for keeping us informed Dana...
Hey, as promised I went through the links you provided. Based on those links and other materials I have here, there's no doubt the P. Bush had an election agenda to remove Saddam from power. It's less clear on how he was going to do it. From what I've seen, during his initial meeting with his top advisors he did ask for plans on removing Saddam from power. Also, the initial plans called for supporting opposing forces from groups within Iraq vice invasion. Powell was for stronger sanctions and Bush should have paid more attention to him.
It would have been nice to have seen this thing stop right before the invasion began. I really believe we had Saddam's attention after he realized we were serious.
Anyway, that's what I got from it and again thanks for posting the links
RE: IF U DONT LIKE THE LOOK OF A PERSONS PROFILE SHUD U REPLY IF THEY SEND U A MSG OR FLOWER
Good Point...
