I agreed with the OP..and I do believe that it as rude to digress online as in real life...you know what I mean..to change the topic totally. Maybe sometimes it does not seem to people that they are doing that though cos to some of us online conversation is not as real as if we were all sitting around a table chatting. If we did that in real life we might notice it quicker...if that makes any sense I mean , I have sat around a table where we might be discussing a real topic, then someone says..how is your Aunt..blah blah blah but then they realize that they have gone off on a different tangent and come back to the original conversation, My point is that I dont think that any of it is intentional.
Yeah it is so easy to get sidetracked by one person just saying hello. I dont think that it is ever intentional but it does just get the original thread lost. Like I said in my post... I find it annoying cos I compare it to a real life conversation where people just digress and talk about what flavoured crisps are better for example Sometimes the original conversation just gets lost..
lmao...Hope you are well but now you can see how people end up saying hello to each other I had posted my original opinion on here but ended up saying hello anyway lol...ah sure it happens
Well this was told to me...real story that I think is hilarious.. I used to live in New York a few years back. A friend of mine from Tipp and his wife had a small nursing home upstate. A friend of"Paddy's" came out from Ireland and they went on an awful session. When they got home, Paddy put yer man in one of the bedrooms. Because yer man was fairly locked Paddy put the side rails of his friends bed up and he got into the other bed. Next morning yer man woke up ..looked around him and said..".Ah Jaysus Paddy...they got you too" Well I thought it was funny...maybe you had to be there for the telling
It was only after I left school that I realized that I actually liked poetry. It used to wreck my head that you had to pull it apart and analyze it. I remember my English teacher saying to me..."it is your own interpretation that matters" So I wrote out my own intpretation of a poem and the standard accepted interpretation of the same poem... I asked him which one would get me an honour in my leaving cert and he told me the standard one...So I just said to him..."then please dont tell me that I can read this poem for my own enjoyment and that my opinion matters"...then again maybe he was right and I saw a whole different meaning in poems Whatever the case, I now enjoy poetry because I can read it for my own enjoyment
We are morbid people TG... Because I could not stop for death, he kindly stopped for me..The carriage held but just ourselves and immortality.. I loved Emily Dickenson I felt a funeral in my brain and mourners treading to and fro.. Sorry probably misquoting but it is a long time since I did my leaving cert.... I am 22 now after all
Well Paddy, as you know yourself....decent society will have nothing to do with me. So I find myself destined to float forever in cyberworld supporting Cavan
