My Teddy Bear (Not named Teddy)

Hi Oslo, Yep it is...

My Teddy Bear (Not named Teddy)

I think it's more sad than anything else. From what I read, the woman meant no disrespect.

Nice to see you again, been gone for awhile..

My Teddy Bear (Not named Teddy)

A British primary school teacher in Sudan is facing 40 lashes and up to six months in prison after allowing her pupils to name a teddy bear after the prophet Mohammed.

Ms Gibbons asked students to name the toy
Colleagues of Gillian Gibbons, 54, claim she made an "innocent mistake" by allowing the class of seven year-olds to choose the name. But she has been accused of insulting Islam’s holiest prophet, arrested and imprisoned.

This is really crazy. Google the full story if you wish. Yet another reason to wonder when we'll finally destroy each other.

See Yaaaaaaa

Thanks Again. You're all great... See you later...wave

See Yaaaaaaa

A. She has a tampon tucked behind here ear and she can't find her pen.

RE: 75% OF PROFILES/PICS ARE PROBALY FAKE !! WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT THIS CARNIVAL MASKED BALL ??

I've only been hit on here once by a scammer. Come to think of it, I've only been hit on once.. hmmmm maybe I should try a new picture.

Anyway, she was a hot looking 28 year old (photo). I just thought to myself what would a good looking young thing like that want with me? And why was she calling me "My Love"? Once I came to a logical conclusion I sent a note to the mods. Within hours the profile disappeared and all hopes of true love were squashed.

The scammers are pretty easy to see and a quick chat with a web cam will clear out most of them. I have faith in the CS crowd but I would never start anything without being able to see who I'm talking to first. Of course if any of these CS ladies wish to chat with me to verify my rugged good looks, i'm more than happy to oblige.

RE: If you could make a wish where would you like to be right now

RE: DO NOT! I repeat, DO NOT Read This!

I was a disobediant child, nothings changed except the size of my shoes and maybe another thing or two (The Jury's still out on those other things). Don't have a nice day!! grin

RE: DO AMERICAN PEOPLE KNOWS THAT IN EUROPE WE PAY GASOLINE 7$ EACH GALLON ??

No, it's not good but the big petroleum companies and their share holders are making lots of money. Not that it helps us sleep any better at night or go about our daily lives.

Might This Be A Future Episode Of America's Most Wanted?

Rick was in trouble. He forgot his wedding anniversary. His wife was really angry. She told him " Tomorrow morning, I expect to find a gift in the driveway that goes from 0 to 200 in less than 6 seconds AND IT BETTER BE THERE!! The next morning Rick got up early and left for work. When his wife woke up she looked out the window and sure enough there was a box gift-wrapped in the middle of the driveway. Confused, the wife put on her robe and ran out to the driveway, and brought the box back in the house. She opened it and found a brand new bathroom scale. Rick has been missing since Friday. Please pray for him.

How'd it Get That Name?

What a great name... I would be interested in seeing how that came about...

RE: whats the best newspapers and weekly magazines to read ?..and why ?

I don't know about the world but I would guess for the states it would be TV Guide or the National Enquirer.. rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

Seriously, I would guess the most popular magazines would come from one of the larger media groups such as Time Warner. Newspapers would be even more difficult to guess but based on population and literacy, I would guess a newspaper from India or somewhere in China. Just a guess..

How'd it Get That Name?

This inspired from a post make by HeartsDesire in another thread. She asked about how a town came by it's unusual name and it occurred to me there must be thousands of places throughout the world with unusual names and a reason for them.

I'll start with Carpio, North Dakota. Legend has it the name is derrived because of the post office initially located there. The post office was located in an old box car. People bagan to refer to the place as the boxcar post office or the CAR P.O. and the name stuck.

I'm sure there are much more interesting examples..

RE: Day Laborer Could Get You Fined

I just erased my first response. It was hilarious but it was rude and I'm not really going to do that.

I will leave you and this thread with the hope you never find yourself in a bad situaiton or never make an error in judgement. If you or anyone you ever care about ever do find yourselves in a mess, I will hope you find someone who is not so quick to pass judgement and has at least some campassion. Someone who understand that most of us humans make mistakes and are not nearly as perfect as you and those you call friend.

Thanks,

Perhaps Paul's message would have been clearer had he not used the term "Christian Principles". If he had concentrated more on the loss of religeous freedoms it may have been better received.

Anyway, thanks

Paul Harvey

Ship, I don't think they're really useless. to me, it's intersting to see how and why people think/believe the way they do. You made some really valid points and I appreciate your contributions to this thread.

Very good, rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing , It should be noted that a waterbed is also able to create a lovely waterfall if the bed is upstairs.

Good post

RE: Day Laborer Could Get You Fined

And we are not also takig advantage of them?

RE: Day Laborer Could Get You Fined

Yet another example where two wrongs don't make it right. People come here illegally and then people take advantage of them.

I went home from work one day and found 5 people in my front yard filling a trench. When I asked what they were doing none could answer because they didn't speak English. When I finally found the boss I discovered they were temps for a sub contractor of the local cable company.

I would be shocked if those guys were receiving $50.00 for a day of labor. Too bad for them but even worse for the jobless, legal citizens who are willing to work but can't find it. I'm sure the sub contractor and cable company saved a lot of money yet my cable bill never decreased.

Vey true, There is no mention of Christ in either of those documents. People have been arguing the "America founded on Christian Principles" since the country was created. It's easy to make either arguement and it would be really pointless to beat that dead horse here.

I think the more important message here is that a majority of the American people are losing their Freedom of Religeon rights in the name of political correctness.

Anyway, thanks for posting.

Paul Harvey and Prayer. Personally, I always liked Paul harvey. Some ionteresting thoughts..

"I don't believe in Santa Claus, but I'm not going to sue somebody for singing a Ho-Ho-Ho song in December. I don't agree with Darwin , but I didn't go out and hire a lawyer when my high school teacher taught his Theory of Evolution

Life, liberty or your pursuit of happiness will not be endangered because someone says a 30-second prayer before a football game.

So what's the big deal? It's not like somebody is up there reading the entire book of Acts. They're just talking to a God they believe in and asking him to grant safety to the players on the field and the fans going home from the game.

But it's a Christian prayer, some will argue.

Yes, and this is the United States of America , a country founded on Christian principles. According to our very own phone book, Christian churches outnumber all others better than 200-to-1. So what would you expect -- somebody chanting Hare Krishna?

If I went to a football game in Jerusalem , I would expect to hear a Jewish prayer.

If I went to a soccer game in Baghdad , I would expect to hear a Muslim prayer.

If I went to a ping pong match in China , I would expect to hear someone pray to Buddha. And I wouldn't be offended.
It wouldn't bother me one bit. When in Rome ...

But what about the atheists? Is another argument.

What about them? Nobody is asking them to be baptized. We're not going to pass the collection plate. Just humor us for 30 seconds. If that's asking too much, bring a Walkman or a pair of ear plugs. Go to the bathr oom. Visit the concession stand. Call your lawyer!

Unfortunately, one or two will make that call. One or two will tell thousands what they can and cannot do. I don't think a short prayer at a football game is going to shake the world's foundations.

Christians are just sick and tired of turning the other cheek while our courts strip us of all our rights. Our parents and grandparents taught us to pray before eating; to pray before we go to sleep.

Our Bible tells us to pray without ceasing. Now a handful of people and their lawyers are telling us to cease praying. God, help us. And if that last sentence offends you, well . .. just sue me.

The silent majority has been silent too long. It's time we let that one or two who scream loud enough to be heard that the vast majority don't care what they want. It is time the majority rules! It's time we tell them, you don't have to pray; you don't have to say the pledge of allegiance; you don't have to believe in God or attend services that honor Him. That is your right, and we will honor your right ... But by golly, you are no longer going to take our rights away. We are fighting back ... and we WILL WIN!

God bless us one and all ... especially those who denounce Him , God bless America, despite all her faults. She is still the greatest nation of all. God bless our service men who are fighting to protect our right to pray and worship God."
