Exactly. If the person is bad enough they are gonna screw up again. Karma does have a way of getting you at some point. And it's usually rougher the next time around.

IMO it does. Just think if it hadn't came to the attention of the media. You nor i nor anyone else would have heard anything about it. It happens everyday some child goes missing and we never hear of it. Only hear of the sensationalized ones. Not bashing your thread but just pointing out how it goes for countless others that we never hear about.
There are several possible reasons. One could be she was being threatened with death or bodily harm. I'm sure there are more but that could be a major factor in this.
No doubt the idea is a good one but the execution of it is what scares me.
It's politicians and lawyers writing it. You know it' will be so vague as to catch the widest set of people. Then it will take years and years of going through the courts before anything will even be understood. But hey sacrifice a few innocent to make sure.
It'll be just another bad law written in the heat of the moment. I guarantee it will catch more innocent or unknowing than it will actual people who will be deserving of it.
Some people are really getting fed up with it's for the children laws that make criminals of those that do not deserve to be.
We know for sure that her mom is out of the running now. However she could be tried on a different charge and end up in prison. But for sure she cannot be tried for any of the offenses she was tried for during this episode. Double jeopardy is in effect.
I realize our justice system has convicted lot's on this but it's not supposed to be that way. It's supposed to be beyond a reasonable doubt. Therefore if any part of the circumstances that lead to that don't match then it is all supposed to go down the drain so to speak.
I didn't pay attention to the trial because I don't really care for the theatrics.
I feel for the little girl but if there is any doubt then her mom has to be acquitted.
Great statement. money isn't the main issue. Of course being retired at this early stage in life does present it's problems meeting people. I can take care of myself and have some for piddling about. But I'm not interested in being a sugar daddy for someone either. I'll do my part and pick up the slack around the home so she doesn't have to do much.
