RE: The Power of Fear

I am afraid I have to leave--great talking to you Professor and thanks for your imput and an interesting topic.wave

RE: The Power of Fear

I agree with you but guarded can also be used in real-life situations. I am sure women who go out to bars these days are very cautious...they bring along friends with them, carry mace, even take self-defense classes. I think online dating is based on other fears such as rejection, shyness, appearance, ability to communicate face to face., etc. Physical fear is a great motivator to use online dating, but other fears are almost as important.

RE: The Power of Fear

Why substitute online pseudo-relationships with real life ones? And I don't mean pseudo as a negative. In person is much more desireable than talking on the phone, or online. Are people afraid to meet others in person? I suppose guarded is a good term, but isn't fear tied into guarded?

RE: I AM BACK

Hi Hal--sorry it didn't work out but welcome back

RE: The Power of Fear

Slightly off topic, does the Professor think that most people on CS are afraid? I am afraid of being alone, even people here for just forums are afraid of being alone. There are alot of fears masked by online dating.

After I date the nice looking female pages (over 18 yrs of age), I would raise my salary to $1,000,000/year (including graft, bribes, and land deals). Oh, they do that already don't they?uh oh

RE: HEAD GAMES

I agree completely. Recently, a woman asked me out, stood me up twice, and I told her if she wants to go out with me to call me...no call in a week. Yes, I have given up...3 strikes and you are out. But why did she ask me out in the 1st place? Head Games.

RE: Is there anyone on CS you would really like to meet?

FrenchGirl2know---your hat stood me up!!!mumbling Oh well, I guess the hat wasn't my type anyway.

RE: If God told you

Paris Hilton's underwear...ooops, I forgot. How about Lindsay Lohan's under....ooops. How about Miss America's underwear? hmmmm maybe not. How about...

I would bring my memories of the people on CS...awwwwwe.angel

RE: Hiding The Pets

I know a woman who could hide a hippo...uh oh

RE: feeling inferior

Taking the conversation to a more personal level tells me he enjoys chatting with you and you have had an impact on him. "Babe" and "sweetheart" are endearing terms that suggest he is very comfortable talking to you, so you should feel very confident in the way you have handled yourself.

I have felt inferior a few times with women..I have to tell you it is very difficult to get over. The feeling of their superiority over me never went away, even if we dated for a long time. I am not saying this will happen to you though, but just my personal experience. Good luck.

RE: Is there anyone on CS you would really like to meet?

I guess if the hat answered no, I have a real problem. If the hat answered yes, I need to ask out a straight jacket also.

RE: Is there anyone on CS you would really like to meet?

Frenchgirl2know--the hat was sooooo beautiful, I would like to ask it out for a date. Hat? Would you like to go out with me please?

RE: Is there anyone on CS you would really like to meet?

I was just kidding..I am sorrycrying It was a beautiful hat (I hope you enjoyed the soup)
