The 40 mile distance relationship worked out--we saw enough of each other. But that's why I said the long distance relationship is very difficult and takes 2 people who can totally accept the fact you won't be together very often. Phone, e-mail, occasional visits, IM. But that is no substitute for one on one contact.
The longest distance I had was 40 miles. It worked great while it lasted. However the circumstances must be somewhat perfect for a very long distance relationship to work. Especially if you just meet online and have never met in person. Hard to get a relationship started without some human contact involved.
Vicki--you are a special woman that never needs to apologize. You are always upbeat and kind. Your poems are beautiful and inspiring. You are the conscience of good on this web site!!!
Good luck and welcome. Perfect match is in the eye of the beholder. I think there are people who are more compatable than other couples, but does that necessarily make one happy? Just go into this with an open mind and you will be amazed how many people share your thoughts and ideas. Also, patience is good to have--it might take a while, but keep posting to the forums and hang in there.
RE: please accept my apoligy....no names needed
Stacy--it was a great thread until certain morons wanted to hijack it. Your heartfelt post was a very nice idea (wish I thought of it).
