I love the show, The Medium, and have read one of Allison's books.
I know that there are many sceptics out there, but I'm not one.
My husband died a year ago tomorrow, and he wasn't sure what would happen. He didn't know if there was life after this life or not...but he knew I believed, so we agreed on a signal just in case. I feel the touches on the back of my neck that he still gives me just like he did in life. I know he's near when that happens, and that he's comforting me. I've been getting a lot of those tonight...that, and the back of my head, kind of brushing my hair with his fingers...another touch he did in life to help me relax.
I've had many experiences before of feeling the energy brushes of spirits, but these are the ones that touch me the most. To me, it makes sense, because Spirit is energy, and energy is neither created nor destroyed. It's only the physical body that can be destroyed, not the Spirit it houses.
Now he knows that for sure, too. (Too bad it was too late to give him comfort that he gained that knowledge.)
I've had an EGD before, watched them too as part of nursing school. It's not that bad. You're not really conscious during it, don't feel a thing.
My worst nightmare was the Colonoscopy I had to have...and I wasn't conscious during that test either, didn't feel a thing, so it wasn't that bad.
The two Advil aren't good for your ulcer, though. Any Nsaid (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug) isn't good for ulcers...they cause them. Ibuprofin (Advil) is an Nsaid.
Good luck...and there are some wonderful herbal remedies available for your migraines that won't hurt your stomach, and won't put you on the hamster wheel of treatment that most of what the allopathic (traditional western) doctors use put you on with migraines.
Email me if you want to know some things that will ease your migraines w/o worse side effects.
My problem is the corruption of the teachings of Christ that happened almost 1400 years ago, and all of the corrupting and twisting of it since then. If more people actually lived those teachings of love, then we'd live in a much better world.
Ah, yes...so true. It's why I have a hard time considering it a "holy" book.
A point I always find interesting is that we are supposed to have separation of church and state, yet one has to swear on a bible (religion) in a court (state) of law.
(Ooops...I probably started something here! Crotty! )
Anyway, very interesting thread. However, Crotty...it took me a while to get through your "few"...remind me not to chat with you if you say "only for a minute"!
Notice, I wasn't upset if that were the case...loved Christopher Reeves as Superman, btw...and he turned out to be quite a super man in real life, too, with the way he handled his accident and what it did to his life.
Both of our answers are correct, btw... Good night!
Yeah, I know. I've passed many such warnings on for the same reason, just to find out that they're false. Snopes checks all of these out, so good place to look. However, one really can't be too safe, and who would think that something like this could be possible...until you read it and realize it could happen. So, not bad warnings. Common sense is to say "no" and keep walking if approached in a parking lot.
Personally, I stay safe because I walk straight with my head up, looking around me. I meet people's eyes as I pass. Criminals tend to look for those who appear distracted, or look like victims by walking with their heads down and shoulders slumped, not making eye contact.
My purse is harder to get because I wear the kind with long straps that I sling across my body, and my hand is on it if it's not in a buggy in front of me.
Think about how easy you would be to rob or attack, and then take steps to make yourself less of a target.
Thank you, SXC....yes, my friends are very good at coming up with stuff like this to keep me out of trouble. (TG 'cuz someone's got to keep me in line! )
Just started dating a guy last week, and he totally understood why this week might not be a good one to really see each other much. He's on the road to Texas with a load anyway, so it's all good. He understands my need for space at this time, too. Said to call him when I want to talk. So far, really great guy. Met him on here, btw...but not on forums.
Thank you, Tip...I've never held one before, and I have many more to hold as I go through stuff here. I was left the accumulations of 3 people's lifetimes...my husband's, and both of his parents. And then there's my stuff when I can bring it here out of storage...though some of it's coming here now for the yard sale this weekend. It will give us more room to maneuver to hunt for things in the storage shed!
Well, I'm getting ready to have a yard sale this weekend. My friends came up with that as a creative solution for keeping me busy and not moping this weekend... ...gotta love them.
See, Monday will be the one year anniversary of my husband's death, and this weekend I don't have my sons to keep me occupied. So, a bad weekend coming up...until they kicked me off of my butt to do this. We have a very nice weekend coming up and I had no reason not to throw this together. Then Monday I start training at my job, so that will keep my mind occupied during the day. Now it's just Monday night that's looking like a tough one. So, I'll see you guys Monday night. I'll need you all then. If you don't see me, I'm curled up crying my eyes out....so I hope you see me 'cuz this would be healthier.
As to the married ones who swing, well, hey...it takes all kinds and it's not up to me to judge. Ignore them and look at the singles. You can use that as a search criteria in your advanced searches, and you can put in your profile that you're only interested in single people of the opposite gender for dating.
It would be odd if this were a normal dating site. Because of the friendships made here along the way I don't find it odd at all...it's great to see the success stories.
I am the worst at having patience. I want it yesterday, dang it...or even last week! And don't go the speed limit in front of me, that's still too slow! (The one thing my 3rd ex-husband had right about me was that he said I'd never have patience until I opened up my own practice.
The best...here's a good contradiction...I do have all of the patience in the world for teaching somebody something, at work and at home. Interesting, for I am a very quick learner...yet, I am able to help others who do not learn things so quickly and easily to learn them. I have tutored college English and helped others to bring their grades up by two grades, ie, D to a B or C to an A. I figure out how to teach things in a way that the individual can understand them...something that a teacher of a large group is unable to do.
