Funny, some people still say the same thing about FDR. And actually FDR was a fraud, almost every American at the time thought he could walk when in fact he was paralyzed from the waist down. Other than that though, he's also considered to be one of the greatest Presidents in US history... and the only 1 to be elected for 4 terms!
pssst! Nixon was a Republican!

I agree. In this case though, it was believed 100% that the guy was guilty of the crime... now whether the evidence presented in court was factual or not, is another matter entirely.
I feel that the "police crime labs" (such as the infamous Houston HPD crime lab) should be done away with (or at least not be admissible in court as fact). A crime lab run by the police is biased and more likely to come up with whatever results uphold what the police say happened. That just should not be! Most defendants cannot begin to afford to have an independant lab reproduce the same tests the police crime lab did to verify the results... it's a highly biased system and it wrongly convicts (and sometimes condemns I'd imagine) people.
If you did the crime, you should pay the penalty... that's the Texas way. However, the methods of determining if a person actually did do the crime are often very flawed IMO.

The thunder rolls, and the lightning strikes... another heart grows cold, on a sleepless night... the storms all, out of control... deep in her heart, the thunder rolls!
Oh I love a rainy night, I love a rainy night, I love to hear the thunder watch the lightning as it lights up the sky... ya know, it makes me feel good!
Nice night to sit out on the porch and listen to the rain, don't ya think?

I don't think we will, actually. Our civilization is more fragile than you'd ever imagine... we've strained the world's food supplies to the limit, just 1 major chain of volcanoe's erupting all at once will cool the planet just enough to stop summer from occurring for years, total crop failures worldwide will lead to massive starvation then nations will go to war with their neighbors to try to take their resources to keep themselves fed for a few more months...
It wouldn't take much of anything to push human civilization right over a cliff. As our civilization goes, so goes our species.
If we stay with the current program of producing more and more people every year, straining resources to the breaking point, then it's inevitable that any little thing is going to cause our house of cards to collapse in on itself. As a species, we have alot in commen with Lemmings I think.
Regards!

And who pays to have all that stuff built (and then tore down afterwards)? Businesses that cater to tourists that come to the games may profit for awhile, but the net burden still rests on the state taxpayers who can ill afford it. I wouldn't want the Olympics held anywhere near me for certain!
Regards!

Agreed and well put. I heard there was even a contingent from Illinoise lobbying to NOT have the games there. Sports venues are all nice and good for those who love watching sports, but the taxpayers almost always end up paying for it in the end.
If Rio can afford it, then let Rio host it... let's just go down there and kick some butt in 2016 on their dime!

So the Muslim suicide hyjackers of 9/11 were what... simply misunderstood?
Osama Bin Laden is just a misunderstood man of peace? LMAO! ROF!
Christians are no saints to be sure, but when's the last time you heard of a Christian taking over a plane full of innocent people and flying it into a skyscraper or large building full of innocent Muslim people over there in Pakistan or India for example...
There's something about the Muslim religion that seems to lend itself to terrorism. Just saying...

Well see you should have just gone to Mexico and then waded north across a shallow river and into the United States you go! Hundreds if not thousands do it dailey and get away with it. Then they hold protest marches in our streets demanding citizenship be given to them, again!
And if you're a woman and happen to be pregnant and late-term, all the better! If you give birth in this country, even though you're here illegally, our government cannot and will not deport you! Popping a kid out on American soil is like a get-out-of-deportation FREE card if you're a pregnant woman who get's apprehended by INS.
Try Immigrating to Mexico, where you have to convert to Catholicism in order to apply for citizenship. Did you know that you cannot own property in Mexico UNLESS you are a Mexican citizen? In the US, we citizens have to compete with people, organizations and companies around the world just to buy a tiny piece of land in our own country to build a house on. It's insane.
Try Immigrating to Kuwait... oh wait, you can't! You have to be born to Kuwaiti citizens in order to BE a Kuwaiti citizen! LOL! Kuwait citizens are paid by their government for being Kuwait citizens; Kuwaiti citizens don't pay taxes. Nice life, if you can get born into it.
Our immigration enforcement here in the US is laughable, and our immigration laws far more lenient than oh so many countries around the world. It's not supposed to be easy, it it were easy everybody would move to the more prosperous nations around the world... who'd want to stay in Ethiopia given an easy ticket out?
Regards and best wishes with your endeavor!

No profile pic, or a profile pic that includes children. That's just wrong IMHO.
Also they rarely seem to say much in their profiles... like, what activities they enjoy doing or interesting places they've been and stuff like that. It's very hard to figure out if you might have anything in common with her or not when there's almost nothing about her in her profile.

It's too early to tell yet... on the surface he seems like a breath of fresh air compared to previous old-fogies we've had. But, the proof's in the pudding... we should know more about him in a year or two once his administration's policies more fully take effect and we start to see whether our lives as American Citizens are positively affected or negatively affected.
He talks the talk, but can he walk the walk?
I'm still waiting for the Democratically controlled Congress to eliminate the so called "ear marks" in bills. Funny that they complained about them when they were the minority in Congress, but once they became the majority the issue just seemed to magically disappear!

Well I'm 39 now... and my biggest concern is that the dating scene isn't getting any better around here. That's what really keeps me up at night with high anxiety levels...
I've been on CS for some 2 years now without meeting a soul. And I just really have no better ideas... I never have liked the bar or club scene (I don't drink!), I'm not particularly religious so I care not for Church based singles groups, and I work on the computer every day (my degree is in computer science and I'm a software developer) so it seems natural that I'd be on sites such as CS and MySpace being single and looking... but the women on these sites, seem to be on here for all the wrong reasons (ie. many have children so they don't go out to bars and clubs like they did before they had children, for instance; BBW's, etc.).
Sorry I've been feeling very frustrated the last couple days with this whole mess, it's gotten to me in a bad way and I'm not holding much back about how I'm feeling. There's supposed to be somebody for everybody, but that's a lie IMO and from my experience!
And I keep getting told by (some) women on CS that I should lie and try to suppress my feelings when it comes to single mom's and such... that only adds to my frustration! I'm supposed to sacrifice my happiness, be somebody I'm not, just to have a movie and dinner date? That's just wrong and people aught not be telling me to lie about how I feel I swear! There's NOTHING wrong with how I feel about this!
I don't have children from any previous relationship, I don't want to date somebody who has children from her previous relationships, and it really irks me to read posts by single mom's on here complaining that men run from them when they find out they have children!
I'm way too in touch with my feelings right now and they're not particularly going to win me any points on here I can tell. Women claim they want men who are honest, but then they don't like it when I AM honest about how I feel... it's a no-win scenario, I swear.
I'm going to end up having a mid-life crisis and this is what's going to drive me to it.
- Michael ("American by birth, Texan by the Grace of God!")
I do though actually... I just haven't cut and stacked firewood for it yet.
Actually this is Texas... if you don't like the weather, just wait a few minutes and it'll change! The cold front out in the gulf is backing up as a warm front and we here around Houston are supposed to get back into the low 90's this weekend already. Here comes summer again!
- Michael ("American by birth, Texan by the Grace of God!")
Question is, where are all the single men who have had children with other women and why aren't they more interested in dating single mom's like yourself? It can't be just 1 guy going around getting all you gal's pregnant!
- Michael ("American by birth, Texan by the Grace of God!")
The package just doesn't work for many of us. We're not running, we're just not that interested in the package... it's not our fault, we didn't "do it". Well I haven't at any rate.
