I was so moved by images of the royal family's vigil around her coffin I can't imagine what it would be like to lose a beloved mother and have members of the public file past viewing this. It was a tableau, quite unreal
I considered whether or not to respond to this but given you have apparently taken interest in my career path previously, I thought it would be impolite not to.
As 2022 ticked over, I continued musing on the fact that I reach retirement age in December this year.
I was still finding my role in the disability sector very rewarding and had no concerns around job security.
As had happened on previous occasions, in March a team leader role became available within my organisation; I hadn't considered applying before as I was content with my role at the 'coalface'.
However this time I had a think about it and decided to apply, reasons being that I don't have to retire until I'm ready, also, fresh challenges can be invigorating and help to prevent burn out that you don't always see coming.
So since early April, I have been managing a team of eight (including three newbies) who perform the role that I had previously.
It's a whole lot of hard work lol but I absolutely adore it and still have regular F2F contact with the vulnerable people in my community
