Envy of the weak and the greed of the strong, no desire without suffering, it's all true. I agree with your view, however my view is that the war is symbolic of America's(and the rest of the West's)decline, a doomed grasp to be the players that we once were. I really don't see how we can win in Afghanistan.
I'd say it is expanding, which ultimately suggests that it must retract aswell. I believe the universe will collapse into nothing eventually, subsequently followed by another big bang.
A life and death cycle that all matter conforms to.
I'd like to see you argue science disproves religion to a Buddhist, personally I believe science adds weight to Buddhism.
I agree people then as now do see god as being cruel, people have often turned away from the idea of faith as a result of emotional reasoning and not rationality.
Science only changes the processes that we believe in. I don't think we are supposed to know the reason for the universe or our life, if we did we'd have nothing left to overcome.
Science doesn't defeat the concept of there being a god, but it does defeat the technicalities of many religious works.
Science is never a conclusion, i'm sure the scientific minds 100 years from now will look at today's scientists as being backward and wrong.
I wouldn't be looking to exceed a 5% total. What happens with emmigration, birth rate, the life expectancy and the repurcussions upon the British working class would factor in too.
RE: US economy worse than Greece
It's a contradiction in terms to blame all the problems of the freemarket upon one man. Would you of allowed the banks to fail?
