Jemaine cracks me up every time. I can bet they were fun to be around, i'm jealous. laugh

RE: How do you view a liberal person?

"Whenever I hear people talking about liberal ideas, I am always astounded that men should love to fool themselves with empty sounds. An idea should never be liberal; it must be vigorous, positive, and without loose ends so that it may fulfill its divine mission and be productive. The proper place for liberality is in the realm of the emotions"

Brilliant quote from one of the greatest minds the world has seen.

sad flower

RE: leave relation

I don't think he really means that do you?

RE: leave relation

Cheer up Lady D, everyone gets pissed off sometimes.

RE: who do you think is a smart nation ?

I would say if you want Muslim's to be part and proud of Britain, then at the least the British need to be proud of Britain. Which would mean not disrespecting our traditions, values, culture, history and showing a little pride here and there. Earn the respect of the outside world and commitment from those at home, instead of being a cosmopolitan charity case that much of the world laughs at.

Yesss.. back to national intelligence, whatever the hell that's supposed to mean. laugh

RE: who do you think is a smart nation ?

I think Muslim radicalisation in the UK reflects worse on us and our anything-goes society than on Islam itself. If Britain had a culture of its own then maybe these youngster's wouldn't travel around the world searching for something they think has meaning.

RE: OBSCURE PERSONS:FOOTNOTES IN HISTORY

Caiaphus organised the plan to kill Jesus I believe.

Oswald Spengler ~ The First world-historian, inpsirer of Sociology and Father to the social cycle theory.

Richard Arkwright ~ 18th century Industrial pioneer and inventor of the modern factory system.

Two relatively obscure people who have had a great deal of influence upon the world.

RE: Do you believe in an afterlife?

I don't think ants have an afterlife, and neither do pigs or frogs. These things come to an end, become broken down into their comprising elements and are then put to use elsewhere by nature. I believe humanity goes the same way and that simply because we are aware of life and death, unlike other beings, makes no difference to the laws of nature.

We live in a universe filled with wonder and things far greater than ourselves, which begs the question, what makes us so special?

RE: Our turn to eat

You may be overlooking the fact that the richer America becomes the richer Europe becomes, makes sense since they are our largest trading partner. So any blood on their hands from exploitation is just as much on ours.

Africa: Look at the ANC in south Africa, Zimababwe's diamond trade or Rwanda begging the West for help with its failed Administration, now Tony Blair is chief advisor to its leader. A 'free' Africa seems to have that tendency for falling apart, exactly what has become of the Mandela dream?

Asia: The middle east contains the richest minority of people on Earth, the Arab sheiks. The far east is now set to eclipse the West thanks to it now being armed with Western science, technology and industry. Steel, cars etc all things invented and developed by Westerners in which the far east has now inherited and benefited greatly from.

People naturally envy those at the top who are more successful than they are, but as far as World leaders go America has been more benevolent than any other.

Seen as you are western, are you seriously suggesting that nothing you have ever paid for has come from cheap and child labour? Doesn't this make you yet another Liberal hypocrite, who lives a lifestyle that causes misery across the world and then has the audacity to say how terrible it all is?

RE: I grew up with prejudice parents...........

I'll bet your Dad had some fun with her parents then. laugh

My Dad's side of the family were Irish and German Catholics and he went to Catholic school before being thrown out for heresy... He was a steel worker, many of the manly men thought like that back then.

RE: I grew up with prejudice parents...........

Certainly, my Dad still thinks any man born south of Birmingham is a homo(including France).

RE: honest...what would unite the entire human race?

You're right, that post was like something from 1984.

RE: honest...what would unite the entire human race?

The same emotion that would unite 6 million would unite 6 billion.

RE: honest...what would unite the entire human race?

I would say that a country is the most united during times of total war, when it's fighting for survival. From there it's just a question of scale.

RE: honest...what would unite the entire human race?

A threat from outside the world. So fear.

RE: Bi-Religious

Yep, Buddhism is one way.

RE: Is infertility becoming more frequent?

You don't mention the Irish specificially, but your whole point of argument is that infertility is a good thing everywhere, and shouldn't be treated, to which I disagree.
