I feel like I've said this before, but sod it, I'll say it again.
People look at internet dating like it's the bottom of the barrel, last ditch attempt to get a date. Which puts a lot of pressure on those that use it and, likewise, leads to a lot of people being too embarrassed to put up a pic of themselves.
What it is, is a nice easy way to meet people, read what they like before you approach them and have a sneaky perve too!!
I wouldn't think of it being any different than real dating. You just have a slight advantage of being able to think of responses if you're not quick with a line. Does internet dating work? Sure. About the same as going to nightclubs work or speed dating or running into people at the bank etc. You just gotta make a good impression and work up the courage to ask. (and YES I'm talking directly to you now biggles, ).
At the end of the day though, being refused on this isn't the end of the world. This isn't your last ditch attempt, it's just another means of communicating.
Got a mail today though warning that ryanair keeps a record of who has looked at what flight so the next time they can go on it they can raise the price. It may just be propaganda but it's worth noting. Simple fix too. If you're not sure and you're just looking at prices, erase your cookies from your browsing history and it should fix it. Worth doing just in case.
Ah. Yeah, if I'd met a girl and really hit it off with her. Say, we were talking all night from early, then yeah you know there is a spark and you know the person a bit better. But a couple of messages and some IM doesn't always show the full deal and I think starting from scratch with a 4 hour commute could be pushing it.
Besides, you end up missing that "want to see you all the time" feeling you get he first couple of weeks which is always fun
Takes a good bit for me to send a message or flower out. There's no one thing. Has to be a picture, age, reasonably close-ish locations (more than 1 1/2 drive will get too hard), I could go on but I don't message anyone unless they have the full basic package for me. We're not exactly writing down our life story and quirks on this so if the basic stuff isn't all there, there's not much point starting.
RE: who would you put together?
Ah Mimi. At least I only changed 2 words. I'm surprised at you.Have you lost your edge?
