Kidding on the worms for dinner, but I have used them for bait long ago in an unmentionable Bay state not too far away, to catch trout, Have caught a 52 1/2 pound striped bass, ...many bluefish, rod and reeled 2 Giant Bluefin Tuna, a 750 pound ( boated in 36 minutes) and a n 850 pound( fought it for an hr in 13 foot seas, then it got wrapped around an anchor line, fought the tuna and anchor on the bottom for another hr...started ripping the gimbal (where the butt end of rod sits) off to the side cuzz the new guy didn't aim it at the fish. Catch mackerel here during summer.
I have had gardens in 2 states, in Mass. it was much warmer than here in Maine(up here the cool weather crops do good) grew every veg that was possible to grow there, cept maybe artichokes that need be mulched heavy in winter(i hear) cantalope, watermelons, beans, carrots, parsnip, cukes/picklers, beets, peas, onions, garlic, summer squash, winter squash... broccoli, cabbage, bbbrrrrusssel sprouts(yum!) sweet corn, spinach, tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, kale, rutabaga, proly forgot something.....herbs- dill , parsley, thyme, oregano, horseradish, basil, mint, lemon flavored herbs, sunflowers, nasturtiums, purple coneflower aka Echinacea purpurea, prolly missed some.
yes...I like the smell of white pine, gum turps and oil base paint together, the feel of the very sharp tools cutting the wood, the feel of smooth curvy... er, well, um......hows the weather there? I could use some more....er,... pieces myself
Yes, will build the boat for me. Where I live used to be an island..... there was a big work project during the depression years?(google- Quoddy Dam Hydro project) to dam up the bays here and make electricity, you know, so people didn't have to got to bed at sunset and, um........ I think the woman were FOR The dAm AND light bulb, and the men, well....they wanted the wifey to come to bed early even though he wasn't gonna close his eyes for a while, ..... Anyway, funding was stopped before it got too far, good thing too, would have been a major ecological disaster, stagnation, warming....the bays are a nursery for forage fish/sand "eels" and krill etc. here, sea scallops all around us, whales are very common... I seen a baby finback, 35 feet long swim by, 50 feet off the pier one day. A few tuna visit, leap. Dolphin/Porpoise.
Maine state record Great White shark- 26 ft long caught across the bay in canada, smaller ones occasionally visit. Some Halibut in June. Cod, Haddock and Pollock are pretty much wiped out, herring( town's industry years ago) are coming back some what. Lovely place here in the Summer, very lovely(shhhh!) not many jobs here though. House prices are very reasonable. Winters can be horrible, Jan, Feb, usually March, maybe even April, sometimes foggy (mmm, warm and cozy by the wood stovey!) It can get in the upper 90's some Summers, but usually not, many different micro climes here.

I try to meditate myself to sleep some nights when the book won't work. Do you have a pyramid and omm? I try to tell my toes to flex then relax and work my way up. Or have a little boat in a calm blue ocean to lock my worries in a box and float away from my island (the box in the boat) but I can't quite pull it off! Where am I going wrong???

Funny enough I was in the garden the other day and checking the sky for clouds as the washing was out and low and behold there were 5 gliders up there!
They seemed to circle so very gracefully for a time, seeming to lose height, then must have found some rising air and began to soar silently out of the circles and across the sky, first one, then the others followed on, oh so slowly it was quite tranquil. A very calming sight.
