What sort of letter would you write with your cv?

Hey Aries,

Sorry your going through this too!

I know I will find something, but I am getting nervous
about my age these days, in as much as I am now
54 and although I have another 14 years at least in
the working world, I feel sure it may go against me
in certain work places. Time to take my age off
my CV too now I think, at least it may give me a
better chance to reach an interview.

Thanks for your input and good luch to you too!

What sort of letter would you write with your cv?

Absolutely, I couldn't agree more and I do very well
usually at interviews.

The trouble is they base their list of interviewees on
the covering letter and CV you send, so that is your
first point of contact with a prospective employer and
it has to be a good sell.

Unfortunately I'm skilled in accounts, not selling.
So that is why I am taking my time about this
introduction.
One of the jobs I am after is particularly interesting to me,
with a certain amount of diversity and growth involved.

Thanks for your help

I think I will be changing my CV quite drastically now.

What sort of letter would you write with your cv?

Don't seem so sad, I wish I could find a job to stay in 14 years!

My CV is a crafted work of art losing many jobs!

If I don't find a permanent position soon I will have
to go temping again.

Thanks, you really don't look old enough for a 12 page cv!

What sort of letter would you write with your cv?

Yes thanks that's an excellent letter,
I have got as far as:-

'Dear Madam

I am writing to introduce myself, also enclosing my CV for your consideration for the post advertised (insert, position, date of publication and which publication)

As you will see from my CV, I have the relevant skills that you require.

If there are any areas that you need clarification on, or I can answer any questions, then I may be contacted on ......

Thank you, I like that very much,
I have got as far as:-

Dear Sir/Madam,

Ref: Application for Accounts Assistant

I would welcome an interview to discuss your requirements for the above job and my suitability for the position. Also to show you the glowing reference from my last
Employer who had to make me redundant.

I enclose my c.v. for your consideration and look forward to (hopefully) hearing from you.

Qualified as in experienced up to trial balance double
entry bookeeping when we ran a business years ago.
Just got made redundant from a sales ledger job I
really enjoyed.

What sort of letter would you write with your cv?

No I'm not a lover of bullet points, I tend to list my
skills with each job I have done.

But maybe I should try bullets at top and cut
back on each job description.

What sort of letter would you write with your cv?

Hi Sommer, thanks,

Would you look at a cv covering three pages?
I have been around awhile......yay
Or should I cut it back to the last ten years?

We used to employ years ago and I would
read everything, but things change so much
and so many people are after the same
jobs these days.

What sort of letter would you write with your cv?

I am just applying for another couple of jobs which require a
hand written letter, which poses no problems as my
writing is very legible.

Only concern is knowing whether
to phrase said letters in the usual staid fashion, or to
try and be a bit adventurous with the wording.

Any suggestions gratefully considered.

Another favorite is fresh figs cut in half
with greek yogurt and honey.

Honey is the one sweet thing I don't
feel guilty eating because it is so
good for you.
