No words of wisdom, just you will have to do whatever it is you are comfortable with. I am sure your mother would understand.
I sat and watched as an aunt died in a hospital bed the other year, I was holding her hand, I just was glad we were there and she was not alone. Although she was unconscious.
As a mother I have told my children to do whatever they are able to cope with when my time comes if they have to make decisions for me to turn off any machine or suchlike. If they cannot bear to be with me I would not love them any less.
Eleven people were hanging on a rope under a helicopter, ten men and one woman. The rope was not strong enough to carry them all, so they decided that one has to drop off, otherwise they are all going to fall.
They were not able to choose that person, but then the woman made a very touching speech. She said that she would voluntarily let go of the rope, because as woman she was used to giving up everything for her husband and kids, and for men in general, without ever getting anything in return.
As soon as she finished her speech, all the men started clapping their hands.
Another thought, maybe if you added to your profile that you are a single parent of a seven year old, you would avoid wasting time talking to any of us who have the t-shirt!...
I don't know how long you have been on dating sites, but they are sure to be people who will worry about your young son, as simonsmum says, maybe your looking at the wrong age group. Don't give up.
