Curious

"Mother is it true I was in your belly"
"Oh sure, my darling little Nelly"
Question answered a child walks away
Smiling smuggly a mother watched her play
Ten minutes later, the child is back
Mother stop to look at her in her blue frock
"If I was in your belly, mommy is it fair to say
When you ate food hit me in my head every day?"
Speechless at first, Mother soon recover
To explain life to a child far too clever
But what else was there for her to do
This child could never be age two

I Am Waiting

It is time at last, finally yes
The wait is finally over
Anticipation dances in the air
The heart races mustang wild
"Here at last", the blood sings
Every breathe is bated and hot
The minute has finally come
Now, Now, here it is, here at last
Nothing, Just a promise for future
So I am waiting again
For a moment in the future
Waiting.....Waiting for a promise
How long will I wait

My Dark Place

In this place no light is reflected
No colour will ever be detected
And try as one might happiness won't ever visit
This is the place I go to quit

It is the place no one will ever find
This place is not known to be kind
Once you've entered its door invited or not
You will never escape; not by a long shot

This place at anytime is not known to be promoted
But then it is also true; never has it been demoted
Most visitors never wanted to expose it location
What goes on there goes on in isolation

Tears cried here is never talked about or heard
Things spoken are spoken here without a word
And sanity is either lost or preserved
In this place that is never truly reserved

Though I am a regular visitor I have no map
And I go there awake or while taking a nap
Doesn't matter much; the result is the same
No one talk about this place for shame

Fact is this place has become apart of me always
This is my place where insanity plays
Beckoning me to join its dark games, everyday
I don't truly understand how I keep away

Undeserved and/or Undesired

Wishing to right a wrong you know nothing about
Living a life filled with self doubt
Knowing not for what you are punished each day
Wondering if God hears when you pray

Is like always walking with needles in you feet
Making you afraid to trust every person you meet
It makes your dreams tormented and bitter
And makes you a life long quitter

Love will forever evade you if you let it
You live quilty for a crime you never commit
You fail at every thing you try
And often you and others wonder why

You cant love and be love with ease
You can never live a life to please
A lonely existence is all you are ordained
Your miser will never be contained

OOOOOOOPPPPPPPSSSSSS

Mother Earth takes care of us everyday
A ground to work, walk, plant and play
We build homes, offices and churches for display
We live, we work and some of us take time to pray
We owe our gratitude in everyway

Fresh air, good water and beautiful beaches
Trees that feed us apples, pears and peaches
Fancy cars, stuffy attitude and baloney speeches
All we do is milk her like greedy leeches
Listen hear her beg, pleads and even beseeches

She is no garbage bin, yet we litter without care
We allow a killer like smog to hug her air
Her beaches suffer, while the fishes live in fear
Her animals are foolishly slaughtered every year
I know we will soon feel her every tear

I STILL WANT....

I want so mom had cravings
Crazy things like wood shavings
Or some exotic food at half past midnight
Dad goes hunting in order to avoid a fight

I want to be born so mom feels pain
She wonders if that night she had been insane
To concieve a child to shorten her days
As she push for her life she prays

I want to be changed, played with or fed
I cry my eyes out someone better get to my bed
Walk the floor with me in hand for peace sake
Tip toe out of there less I wake

I want shoes, clothes, books and education
From me mother would like to take a vacation
But she sticks around because she loves me
But from my wants she is never really free

I want a family, so a wedding was planned
I have to be the perfect bride in the land
Through it all, I drive them all quite mad
My man, my mom but expecially my dad

At the end of it all I am dead
There are tears pouring from hearts heavy as led
My loved ones faces pained and worried
Hey what the heck! I STILL WANT TO BE BURIED!

DON'T GET SAD; GET WISE

If while you love him he loves the universe
Find some friends and just converse
Don't think about him and his concubine
Find the best restaurant at his expense dine

If your best friend turns out to be a hypocrite
Don't stress yourself over and about it
Take a walk, smell the rose and smile
Knowing you were only fooled for awhile

If from your job you are fired today
Take a trip to the theater or even broadway
Calculate your assets when you are done
Find a future job that will be fun

Life is too short to be spent sad
Or even to think about getting mad
Wise up! It is never the very end
There is always an owl around the bend

Lessons from a Child

A lesson to adults from a six year old
This child wasn't shy or very bold
She just said her piece and went away
To her every word said was okay

Asked what she hoped to become in future
She answered "I can't dictate to nature,
Since I am a girl I guess I will be a woman,
I can't be a horse, a monkey or even a man?"

Try again; what will be your future occupation
This time she answered without hesitation
"Anything I will be doing then, how would I know?
I am no prophet. I would love to be teaching though."

Marriage plans were queried next
And this question got her vex
She replied, "Boys are so boring...
And my dad is always snoring."

With caution the interviewer proceed
He wanted to know how she plans to succeed
With a smile she replied, "from the fruit of course...
Could I get some water please I am hoarse"

She left behind many tears in the eyes
And though we had many more hows and whys
She refused to be questioned further
Calling loudly for her mother.

Mr. Special

Perfectly sure I want that life no more
Eager I was to open another door
Tension filled I posted an ad
Even as I thought I was a little mad
Resolved I waited for results

Battered, in mind heart and soul
Reacting I decided to play another role
Only you had other plans for me
We have replaced I in my destiny
Nobody should give up on adults

LOST FOR AWHILE

A child walked towards home with shaky feet
She hide her tears behind a weak smile
She wished the past year she could delete
Oh, how she wished she was not lost for awhile

A mother looked through her kitchen window
Saw her daughter whom she had thought lost forever
Walked towards home keeping in the shadows
"Lost for while," she thought, "but now home to mother"

A father looks up as the front door opened suddenly
He sees a child lost for a while home at last
He looks at her face sternly and sullenly
But his resolve dissolved oh so fast

Together again at last this family knows
They have just began to mend the fences of fears
The have to forgive and forget a year of woes
And learn how to live through past pain and tears

A Great Mistake

She thought she was the babysitter
He thought she was his birthday present
She came with nerves and gitters
He just thought she was heaven sent

She should have been at door five-o-two
He was impatiently waiting in five-o-eight
Both were nervous, neither had a clue
Of what the other expect from this date

His friends had sent the usual gift he thought
He would have the same fun he does every year
Talk her out of the profession of being bought
The contact for a new start he'd share

For an extra buck she must be a sitter
She is the sole provider for a family of four
Knowing she cannot afford to be a quiter
She had tiredly knocked on this door

When she got mad he was first confused
But his lecture to her mind was just rude
When he realised his mistake he was so amused
As he laughed she kept calling him crude

They were married six months later
He found the lady of his dreams that day
She found her life's partner
They are happy that is all there is to say

Finally

I wandered to the window looking out
Looking back at my yester-years
Many would never recognise me now
I see me the child filled with self doubt
I see my playmates, I hear their sneers
And to the world I take a bow

I raise my champagne glass to the world below
I drink to me standing, living and loving the top
If only they could all see me here today
I have worked hard for all I have to show
Though it was hard going I NEVER stop
Now I take a sip for all the haters along the way

I open the window so I can take a whiff of the air
I smell the fragrance of success much deserved
Now I can smile with pride and be happy for it
I have paid a fare price for my carreer
Paid with everything that I am with nothing in reserved
But my dreams I would never forfeit
