HORRIBLE HORRIBLE DAY TURNED TRAGIC

A horrible day at the movies today
12 shot dead another 70 hurt
was in my truck just driving down highway
little chipmunk ran out in front
saw it's brown eyes
wish I could have
the day just turned
TRAGIC.

A Poets Challenge For all to join

I have came up with 2 starting lines that I really enjoy but some how my imagination is in idol right now.I am asking the poets of this corner to finish this poem using these 2 starting lines is the only rule.

A thousand steps
walking a crooked fence

Lets see what you great poets can do with these two, I believe magnificent lines. Look forward to what you have come up with.

Kickit......

Poets poetry

liquid sky pouring down
being sucked up by
straws on the curvesive ground
cosmic rays beaming down
giving us much delight
orbiting rock distant glare
reaches the darkness with a soft bright
colors of the arch that scrapes the clouds
seduces the eye
sounds of thunder
echos through the air
shriviling my ears
misty cloud fogging my eyes
BUT
your poetic style charming ways
sooths my soul.

O' How I Miss You

Open my eyes, an hour has gone by.

Sun goes down. Call your name.

See my breath, an hour goes by.

It's cold outside.

Touch your face, shed a tear.

It's only been a year.

Close my eyes, hear your voice.

I call your name.

The moon rises above, an hour goes by.

Open my eye's, give you a kiss.

Walk away.

Leaving you behind the gate.

As the moon's light shines on where you lay.

Canvas of life

skouring the land
over the heads of the one
that walk the ground
listening to the beat
of the expanding vains
being rushed to the heart
in the horizons depth
surrounding sounds of wisdom
that lays beneath the breath
of the one that gives life
to a beating heart
a canvase of life
from the heavens to the earth
we walk this ground
with light hitting our eyes
salted seas rolling hills
water falling from above
we are the
canvas of life

becoming one

a drop of rain
swirling clouds
energy being released
that's falling to the ground
no puddles can be found
a drop of rain
carving it's path
in the soils under ground
a path being carved
for others to follow
united they become
a river is formed
carving a path
to it's freedom
to the open seas
it will finally be
set free

Dearly Departed

i kissed you good bye
my hands fell to my side
letting you go
not easy you know
i made you some coffee
but it's getting cold
moments go bye my eye's going dry
took your picture off the wall
knowing how special you are
looking in your eyes
smiles you give me
your warm embrace
how i miss your face
i touch my lips
remembering that kiss
walls absorb the music
when your heart beats
i'll wait for you
no matter how long it takes
i know your just getting some
eggs for a breakfast we
can make. but i must
call you and remind you
don't forget the
salt and pepper.

Destination

A kiss flying through the air
midnight mist floating endlessly
eyes of lust the sands of dust
drifting in the midnight air
blowing leaves a midnight beat
A reach of thirst misses the lips
warm wraps a shower lingers
followed by shadows of a moon
resting on the horizon
falling in the sands of soil
she spells his name
curled up in a trap
warm air of the sun
rises high above

prosperovity

the presence of your beauty
dissappeared in the city
grace you have displaced
shinning soul has become dull
light has become dark
in the souls gravity of pull
unwashed face left out in the cold
burning barrels of wasted gold
captured in a ruin of despair
once long ago
your elegance claimed
the faces of treasure hunters
seeking the mother load
a blade at you side
hoping to catch a
four legged foe
covered in the weather
that has been brought down on you
trying to reclaim the
dances of yesterday
with shattering no end
of shaking your
soul.
