The Hillbilly couple...

After a few weeks of dating, a country girl decides to bring her hillbilly boyfriend home to meet her mother. Mom took one look at the guy and already form an opinion of disapproval. She listen with a 'half-ear' about their future plans to marry.
Hoping to stop the relationship, mom said "Did you tell him about your medical condition?"

The boy's eyes widened and he asked "What medical condition?"
Mom replied "She's got acute angina."
With a sigh of relief, he smiled at mom and said...
"Well, that's a good thing, because her tits ain't nutthin' to brag about!"

Haters / thumbsdowners

When I first found our about this site 7 or 8 years ago, I was looking for a partner.
I didn't find a partner, but as a practice of mine on datingsites, I'd delete my profile after a few months, stay away a few months or a year, and start again.

The reason why I kept coming back to CS, was because I even thought I wasn't a member, I still enjoyed reading the inspirational blogs, forums and recipes, but couldn't comment on anything.

These days, the blog and forums are filled with haters/thumbsdowners, abusive name calling and yes, the scammers, because even they have found their way here.... all because the harmony, which was once alive in the blogs etc. seems to be gone.

True, it wasn't always chocolate and roses in the blogs and forums, but atleast discrepancies were discussed in a much more civilised manner than now. Most of the good writers from then have either died, been blocked from the site, or just have enough of the behaviour and left, or don't bother to write anymore, but still use the site.

Time to be civilised again, before CS either decides to become a paying site or close the blogs, forums etc., I assume we're all adults on this site, so here's a tip: In this life, not everyone's gonna like us or agree with what we have to say or write, so grow up, and get over it, as it's all a part of human nature. Stop hiding behind the internet to spread hatred / thumbsdowners.

Make CS a place where it's fun to come and be inspired by the writers again, not a place where you're getting put down, because others are dissatisfied in their own real miserable life!!!!!.....it doesn't mean you have to do the same here for others. JMPOV. They say karma is a bit$h, so be careful it doesn't come back to bite you in real life.

I'm gonna get quite a few "thumbsdown" for this blog, but you know what: I'm strong enough to handle such cowardice, as none of you are brave enough to write on a blog or forum "hey, it's me, xyz who gave a thumbsdown on your writing, I did it because of adcd..." so IDGAS.

I was brave enough to do it, the 1 time I gave a thumbsdown, as the remark to the blog in question, was rightly deserving of it. Unfortunately, the OP of the blog, deleted my comment, but left the reason for my comment on his blog.

The worlds fastest dentist...

I was at the dentist yesterday to repair a chipped tooth. The consultation, x-rays, waiting for the Novocaine to soak in, actually doing the repair and paying the bill was nearly 90 minutes. I used this dentist several times and like her work. She doesn't rush the process and the price becomes secondary.

A few weeks ago, there was a story in The New York Times about a woman in Minnesota who is suing her dentist. The same story was covered on a few news services. She's seeking more than $50,000 in damages, claiming to have received 4 root canals, 8 crowns and 20 fillings ALL IN A SINGLE VISIT.

C'mon, something is wrong what that scenario.

The average adult has 32 teeth (28 if the wisdom teeth are removed)
If 4 of those crowns are for the 4 root canals, that means every tooth had either a crown or a filling. All of them!

From my experience, a root canal requires two to three visits, the first being as much as 2 hours. A crown requires 2 visits, 90 minutes + 30 minutes after the tooth comes back from the laboratory and that can be 7 to 10 days.

I got through algebra and trigonometry, but to my best guess, that's more than $30,000 in dental fees and some 40 hours in the dentist's chair!

Maybe someone can figure the logic in her story and the dentist's reply. They are both on other planets right now!

If a third of what she claims to have been done, $50,000 in damages ain't nearly enough.

Sage's advise, cheeky, cheeky, but all so very true

Don't let your worries get the best of you; remember, Moses started
out as a basket case.

Some people are kind, polite, and sweet-spirited until you try to sit in their pews.

Many folks want to serve God, but only as advisors.

It is easier to preach ten sermons than it is to live one.

The good Lord didn't create anything without a purpose, but mosquitoes come close.

When you get to your wit's end, you'll find God lives there.

People are funny; they want the front of the bus, the middle of the road, and
the back of the church.

Opportunity may knock once, but temptation bangs on your front door forever.

Quit griping about your church; if it was perfect, you couldn't belong.

If the church wants a better pastor, it only needs to pray for the one it has.

God Himself does not propose to judge a man until he is dead. So why should you?

Some minds are like concrete, thoroughly mixed up and permanently set.

Peace starts with a smile.

I don't know why some people change churches; what difference does
it make which one you stay home from?

A lot of church members who are singing "Standing on the Promises"
are just sitting on the premises.

We were called to be witnesses, not lawyers or judges.

Be ye fishers of men. You catch them - He'll clean them.

Coincidence is when God chooses to remain anonymous.

Don't put a question mark where God put a period.

Don't wait for 6 strong men to take you to church.

Forbidden fruits create many jams.

God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called.

God grades on the cross, not the curve.

God loves everyone, but probably prefers "fruits of the spirit" over "religious nuts!"

God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage.

He who angers you, controls you!

If God is your Co-pilot - swap seats!

Prayer: Don't give God instructions -- just report for duty!

The task ahead of us is never as great as the Power behind us.

The Will of God never takes you to where the Grace of God will not protect you.

We don't change the message, the message changes us.

You can tell how big a person is by what it takes to discourage him.

The best mathematical equation I have ever seen:
1 cross + 3 nails = 4 given.

women make this mistake almost always

When it comes to beauty.

Many women respond to beauty on an emotional level...how somebody's looks make them feel. That is why women fight among themselves...well maybe not fight so much (but sometimes)....but for sure compete over beauty. Who has the better dress? Whose hair is stunning? Whose breast...whose...shoes... We don't even want to get into make up. There are countless sources of information out there for women with make up.

Then of course, the insults will come out between them if they are competing for the same guy. The snide remarks are made, the "tooling" of their opponent in a public situation is the best battlefield.

Where do women make their mistake most of the time?

Well, most women perceive life from their own perspective. It is called "self-projecting." They basically apply their perception on a situation from the way they would handle it...from the way they feel about it.

Feminism was a beautiful thing for men. Because, feminism encourage women to be women. Be who you are. Let it all out. "Do what feels good." Then of course it lead into the s*xual revolution for women. Men got educated to women's nature. ...or ease of manipulation.

dunno

Before feminism, women would have been right...for the most part. Beauty is beauty and men and women both have been led to it like a moth to a flame. (side note: it is said that up to 50% of women are bi-s*xual). Like a moth going to that flame, there was no logical rational being used in the moth making its decision...It just mindlessly went to the flame.

After feminism, not now with men. Men have learned their lesson, when many of their souls have been ripped from their being. Their lives were destroyed. They lost their children and sometimes women would convince the children to actually hate the father. They lose half of their wealth. Some men lost their lives, lost their jobs, lost their homes.

You see, most women don't go through that. They instead go through what makes them feel good. For many, that is having many men on their speed dial...and a mission to suck as much money from the man.

You beautiful women, the mistake you make is that you believe everyone responds to beauty equally. I will give you this, an ignorant man might; however, a man who went through the ringer, won't.

Interracial Marriage

I'm glad that people find connections here, but interracial marriage can be challenging. Online conversation is vastly different in person, considering factors like culture, language, and political views. Based on my own experience, it's crucial to understand how someone reacts in simple situations, especially over petty things, before considering marriage.I advise people to learn their partner's language for better communication. While marriage can be blissful during the honeymoon phase, as you go along, you'll realize each other's weaknesses and strengths—that's when the real work kicks in. I believe it's a challenging job that requires hard work. If a marriage ends, it's not solely one side's fault.Living together before getting married can provide valuable insights into compatibility. Marrying on the first meeting might seem unusual as it often takes time to truly understand each other and assess long-term compatibility.heart wings angel

Lein on me...

I pay an accountant to do my corporate and personal taxes. She's a licensed CPA and we usually work via email. I scan and send documents to her and things that require original signature go by US postal Service. I'll mail checks to her for services. We are both good with this arrangement and have been doing it for years.

Last year, I received a letter from the IRS stating I didn't pay all the 3rd quarter tax. They found an error in the calculation. She missed adding a number from a previous column to the total. My accountant review it and apologized for the error. I mailed the check to the IRS two weeks before the due date. It went out certified mail.

Saturday, I received a letter from the IRS threatening to seize my property for non-payment.

I went online to review my bank statement and my check cleared 20 days after it was mailed and 3 days before they sent out the notice. What irked me was it took more than 2 weeks for them to receive my payment. Obviously a postal delay.

Monday was a legal holiday, but the first thing today was to call and find out what happened. The agent I spoke to stated the account now has a zero balance and the interest and penalty had been removed. She noted my account in the event 'the left hand didn't figure out what the right hand was (or wasn't) doing' so I have no repercussions.

I prefer mailing checks, but in future I would consider going online to make an electronic payment... that way, they won't lien on me!

Summary: I dislike the threat, and not a "did you receive the first notice? Please send a check" Certainly the post office taking weeks for a certified letter when it should have been 2-3 days or mail mis-delivered that happens a few times a month.
