Moral of the story , take a blowup mattress . Be some lion sleeping in comfort now , funny bloody cat . Thermal is the way to go but very costly . I have a laser inferred flashlight (box about the size of 4 smoke packets ) set up for my NVD , Pulsar built . 1500 meters of illumination in complete darkness overcast , no moon and not able to see hand in front of your face . Too far to identify deer at that range . Saw 14 the other night out to about a km with a bit of moon and no Pulsar . Deer still all over the place .

have to admit took three tries to pack it after blowing it up for first time. So yeah a bit balky nothing that'd bother you Serene got side pockets for paddles and pump, pump is quite big but not heavy whole lot only 13 kg something
just brought maps and bearing compass for kayak, have few repair patches coming, even battery powered little silicon red, green and white nav lights, lifejacket, ropes and few other as well, run out of time getting items from china, which is generally cheaper, the kayak is made in USA i think

I'm not heading out on the ocean, i've brought it as i'd like to try photographing water birds and wildlife on the inland lakes, am hoping to 4x4 up into qld through the northern south australian outback probably on part of the Birdsville then Strzelecki Tracks while heading to Brisbane
that's all interdependent upon other factors; all else fails lots of lakes in this area

i got some south of here at Hollands Landing couple years ago, there is an amassing array of bird life on Gippsland lakes, which is 80 or 90 km south of here, even seals on the coast to, quite amassing i'll just look for an image that displays what i mean back soon
2intrigued: Just watched it Pete...hilarious Didn't wet myself though.
And...the darn song has been playing in my head ever since I listened to it so thanks a lot Pete. I will never again be able to listen to it without singing the words "how deep is your rug"
