The Artist

The Artist

A good friend asked me recently to teach her poetry. Rather she was serious or not I really didn't know what to say, so I quoted her something from Robert Frost which I also opened this verse with. Plutarch said " Painting is silent poetry, and poetry is painting that speaks " I dont consider myself a poet, just some guy who uses his pen as a paddle and the currents as my guide. What is poetry to you ?.. Cheers

Awww, c’mon! For real? That’s just illusion. I’m not into delusion. I feel too real. I remember everything crystal clear. The hurt, the pain, right now, right here. But it’s all ok. Everything goes away. We’re all going away. We’re all

Welcome CoffeeShop at the Edge of the Universe

Welcome- CoffeeShop at the Edge of the Universe

Here, at the coffee shop at the edge of the universe, the flowers bleed as if they were hearts, the hearts ooze a darkness like India ink, and poets dip their pens in and they write. "Here at the coffee shop at the edge of the universe,"

Forks on the road

~Forks on the road~

I got to thinking tonight about how so many people keep making the same pained mistakes in their life, if only they could come out of the box, if only for a minute to see.............

Broken And Beautiful

Perhaps, it is because of the experience of being broken by hurt, and the suffering that goes with it, in whatever area of life, that we are able to experience greater depths of happiness at a later time. Kahlil Gibran says: "The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain." Perhaps, it is within the very cracks of our brokenness that we can discover a new joy and beauty that we may not be able to experience if we were not cracked and broken. I wish to dedicate this piece to those who have experienced acute pain and suffering in their lives, whether in romantic love or otherwise. Remember the words of Kahlil Gibran!

Lost Halycon Days

Interestingly, this was written in 1985, for a moment in time thought that I was phyically redundant, the intervening years have proved to the contary, we have a power base in each given era, for which we must capitalise on.

Byegone London

Byegone London.

A sonnet on construction, highlighting how we all too often? wax lyrical about bygone days, yet in general, it was far from the truth, hopefully, the closing couplet focuses the condradiction to the previous twelve lines.
