Generally it is, you google UN and thei current report and mostly it is the wealthy country that suffer most of obesity.
There is always an exception, which means that just because the country is poor doesn't have obese people and so is the wealthy countries don't have skinny people.
So if you present it in general, it is true to almost any account.
Now having said that look at facts and tell me why mostly this problem mostly concern only the first and second world?
Yes of course my friend. I do admire her remarkable impact on the program "GET LIGHT?" directed against calories? Getting small and getting light program? She's committed on creating awareness as how much better for everyone to have less I guess.
On the military budget, yes indeed. Imagine the cost of 1 billion a day on our wars in Middle East? What's the gain? Or is it just the expense we've to shoulder for peace?
As Z matter of fact I know some people AGREE that after being told by their doctor to do this and that, cut back on sugar or bad food, they don't. So it doesn't always work this way. I then suspect strongly that perhaps lack of self control and discipline?
My three girls struggled and still do on losing weight after they had babies and blame it on their German, Irish blood from their dad. Lol.
Lanna, that is the way to go that gets us out of this horrible predicament. The question is how to make all of us realize that only each and everyone of us must do the same thing in order to get us out of this?
While it may promise collective benefits for the future of the economy, Raphael, I am sure those measures will be opposed strongly by the rich. They will do anything to thwart that even if they realize it's good for the whole economy.
My other suggestion is to raise productivity level of the working masses. Bring back jobs that were outsourced. Patronizing our own products instead of giving all the revenues generated by foreign supplies. Do you ever wonder what's the impact of Walmart on our economy selling almost all made in foreign land specially China?
And we wonder why it's the major creditor in both the IMF and WB?
No I didn't know that but I only drink tea and water and has raised all my children on the awareness of unhealthy contents of processed foods. And those drinks are not good and specially addicting.
Thanks for your contribution CC. Seriously considered as the only one that can easily bankrupt the whole US economy, health care, I imagine why we don't take all the responsibility in disciplining ourselves so as not to make this happen?
I mean with all these study projecting such a major catastrophe, can't someone start something effective to fight this?
Or like Obs said, should and must we SHAME THEM?
It is a disaster in the making that will collapse our economy if you ask me.
Well Lanna, I am 64 years old, but I do exercise three times a week for two hours each session. Very consistently and do at least 100 push up each day.
I only eat fresh fruits (I used to grow organic when I had two acres) and vegetables and my doctors and my children are my proof that good eating habit and exercise are the key to a healthy life.
We eat only what the body can burn as energy and it makes all the fat cells go away.
Go Lanna and thanks so much for your participation.
Now the government is doing everything to ban all causes of unhealthy eating habits on those fast food. They started with McDonald's usage of cheap oil and also present the number of calories on every food served.
Yes on majority of the countries and not on all of them. If you look at the record as to who holds the highest percentage of Obesity, it will surprise you that the rest of the poor countries don't have that as the general picture of the population.
Just google it and it will show you in billions what we spend here as far as fighting obesity is concerned. Now on the other hand, it does also create a multi billion dollar industry on the activities involving losing weight or anti obesity activity.
Harry welcome to my thread. I do need to apologize for my untoward behaviour I had on my last blog.
First of all the etiquette of introduction was completely omitted and please allow me to introduce myself. I have been on here for so long. I have written so many poems like I said, most of which were the most commented and our community of the poets in the corner has regarded me as one of the stalwarts of most respected. You don't have to believe me. I have written so many blogs, most of which were the most commented in substance, in the first page and read all of them. None of those had ever generated any kind of disrespect or bullying and I have mails as long as 4 years ago from my friends there to indicate what kind of a person I am.
When the fiasco started here on my last two thread, I truly felt insulted by Jac's entrance on my write as she always did on my blogs and some blogs of others. I acted well beyond who I am, who I was and I deserved to be punished. So when you got in and made those deragatory remarks of who I am, I can't blame you as you didn't know me, but allow me to tell you that all are welcome on all my writes and if it warrants no more insults or character assassination as provided for in the rules, then I welcome all ideas, in agreement or in opposition on mine.
I believe the needs of the people are major factors in making decisions such as this. Yes about 80 percent of the world has some social benefits, we from the West, provided for. I have seen the many poor countries in the world where your safety is at the lowest and infrastructure are of the least concern. Imagine health as a priority.
The bank has support from countries including India, Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
However several major economies allied to the United States including Japan, South Korea and Australia have declined to become founding members.k-230740736.html#V9ikfTo
Forging this kind of venture would definitely create agitation on the part of the US as it is going to be a tool in uniting two wealthy countries for what?
That is the question.
When the interest of these two global economies swing as one against the US, we know where it is going, at least I have an idea.
But Russia and India are also capable in making the weight against such alliance. Something to watch for.
WEll in my country today, it is amazing how the provision of the government in terms of services, money and health has gone gaga and that some people are truly abandoning the work place in favor of being a recipient for the welfare due to the impossible structure of the health benefits? I have encountered some people who'd rather not work because not only they get good housing, but they get free health care and some money to live on.
I can't upload it Risalred but there's more to it than what meets the eye specially on the recent reports given.
I have read from the Forbes magazine recently that China being the most major player in the creditor side of the IMF, perhaps, we have to watch out what is in their agenda?
Actually CapNemo, you are mistaken, I just don't feel like having a response that is not in relation to the topic itself like character assassination and attack on the person doing the post or response which like I mentioned in my previous writes, I am guilty of some violation and or out of context myself.
So thanks for the warning but if you look at the length of all my writes including some of the most commented blogs, I have never done that except the last two ones.
Now you have said your piece and I have taken the responsibility that serves peace as far as I can see.
I was wondering as the most powerful country in the world today, what would this situation create in the next 20 years? The impact on our strength for military and economy?
K we have conditioned our people in the same exact attitude and one way or another I believe this is one major obstacles of any society if you ask me. Welfarism?
Of course she is not a flake. Considering all her extensive exposure on the mechanics of politics, she wouldn't even aspire for the job if she doesn't have what it takes to run a country that is so diversified and so scarred with terrorism, obliterated by religious diversity and challenged by the worse immigration problems at the moment.
Thanks for your opinion.
Let us all unite and put a woman up there and go from there.
Like I said in the beginning, what do we have to lose, we are already in the worst possible situation we never expected to be at...
I figured some would agree with me on the tendency of being a woman to possess both compassion and yet firm. Gentle and yet in control.
Previous discussions has set up some characteristics critical to the success of the ruler and Thatcher has been put on display more than anybody else here.
But yes, we do have some good candidates that I am sure good material for the job specially in the level of global relation as well as local. A most challenging role of the current who seems to be incompetent as expected.
