WORLD'S PROGRESS IN THE EQUALITY OF MEN AND WOMEN

There are three major regions of the World when it comes to the quantitative as well as qualitative analyses as to the progress in treating women as equal to men.

The First, Second, and the Third world. The Western part of the planet is of course where the first and second qualify which is about 20 percent of the total humanity while the third is comprised of the 80 percent and living under poverty.

When we look at the progress, I am more inclined towards the first and second as of course, the very source of this perception and application is championed by freedom and independence specially in the field of socio economic and political arena.

Today, while I agree that there are so many obstacles and challenges that continuously impair and obstruct such a growth, we have without a doubt,. have progressed to a considerable height that is even beyond my expectations.

I believe, I would credit this achievement towards the very conduct and liberal minded mentality of so many men and continue to support this legacy which is a mirror of the world's commitment to a genuine struggle and effort towards humanity and equality.

This blog is not about who is BETTER BETWEEN MEN AND WOMEN. It is about acknowledging our commendable effort to continue our road to the champions of equality and as such embrace it for better understanding of the world and our road to progress.

How do you feel about it?

Thank you so much for all your contribution, comments and opinions.l

OUR CHILDREN: The Future of Humanity

I have no doubt one of the biggest and most difficult responsibility we as parents face in life is raising our children..Yes, and throughout the world, I am sure our hopes and ambitions and dreams to have a good children worthy to help humanity is constantly challenged and bombarded by outside factors that can ruin all our efforts.

Building a desirable future that will provide humanity a secured commitment for equality relative to socio economic abundance is not easy. Throughout history, we have always been crippled by greed and power and selfishness, not only the people in general but more so for those who govern us.

Today, even as we claim to have progressed from the pangs of uncivilized and tolerant relationship of all peoples in the world, we do maintain an amazing distance and indifference toward achieving a very untied nations of different cultures, religions and ways of life.

It seems we will never be able to give up our individualistic attitude for the sake of a united effort to become one and idealistic society.

That said, have we done our best? it is just that perhaps we are not truly committing ourselves to the maximum ability and capability in guiding our children worst we let the evils of society crawl in their young and vulnerable minds manipulated by the factors and elements of unhealthy environment.

Her is my personal story: Two of my girls were not able to go to a catholic school which I believe at first to have really championed in the exact discipline I dreamed for all my children as I have finished my education in College and Master's degree within the confines of this institution.

Apart from the fact that I truly admired the discipline these schools provided for me during my youth, I am not saying that they are the only institution capable in working with me on the kind of discipline and effort, I so wanted for my children to be exposed with. No. But hear me out and this is my story.

My two girls are very much trained and raised like I was. Very respectful and humble and never talked back. After all my dearly loved mother was with me to helped me raised them. My late mom, passed away in 2005, when ,my youngest was already 12. I credit all their abundance of healthy upbringing with the help of my mother.

So where am I going? Here it is. When they were in High School at a public funded School which according to the department of Education, have allocated $10,000 dollars per kid (Sonoma County), my son from Catholic School, I only spent $8,000. per year. but from my own pocket.) So dress code is very loose, no uniform and to my taste a very distracting sight for the boys and of course, given their young minds, exposed to that kind of outfit, I am pretty sure, knowledge and learning is no longer in their brain. Noting that Dr. Laura Schlissinger, a well known Psychollogist, claims that boys think of sex every 15 minutes, compared to women with an average of every three hours. So I said to them: "HONEY, WOULD YOU REALLY, BELIEVE THAT WITH THOSE REVEALING OUTFITS THE BOYS WOULD STILL BE INCLINED TO LEARN? And my daughter, said: "OF COURSE, MOM, THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANT":. i snapped back and said: "WELL IF YOU DON'T MIND THAT YOU WILL BE GOVERNED BY IDIOT, AND SELFISH MEN IN THE FUTURE." My daughter thought for a while and since then changed. But this is only one aspect.

My purpose for this blog is for us parents to find a way to be strong on providing guide and discipline for these children so that at least we can improve and progress to providing them the most effective of shaping their young minds to be an asset to our society. They are the only hope of our nation. Humanity filled with understanding and unity depends on them.

Self Defense or Murder?

Just how far do we go to protect ourselves from severe bodily injury and or murder? Specially if it happens in your own domicile?

This question come to mind as I am reading the dominant news on the fatal shooting of two teenagers that burglarized the 65 year old peaceful man from Little Falls Minnesota.

Facts: Thanksgiving day, 2012, two teenagers, an 18 year woman and a 17 year old boy burglarized a home of a 65 year old retiree in his home for the second time. These kids were later found to have been responsible in many such acts from the same place.

The homeowner claimed he was so terrorized by such burglars after he found out that one of his gun was stolen on the last one. These kids were found to be responsible on the same acts in the same town for so many times. Why they were not in jail? Beats the hell out of me.

This time he was more vigilant and armed himself ready for his defense if it happens again. And it did.

Verdict: Guilty. Was it justified for the man to kill those young kids? What would you have done?

Thank you so much for your comments.

BIGOTRY AND HYPOCRISY

One of the hardest label to swallow are the very verdict given to a society or a country in general that is full of these elements. The judgement meted as being bigot and hypocrite. The ability to project an act out of intention that will only be mutilated if not completely disenfranchised from the same person who claims such acts towards his victims. In this case if it were a country, it's constituents.

I have been reading very conscientiously and diligently about the prime newspaper in Minnesota and what a difference of the context of what I have been accustomed to in my State of California. But even more so on the fact that I am democrat and of course, with D. Feinstein, Pelosi and my governor on that line, I am so babied by my own kind of thinking and principles.

Being in here is like I have to brainwash myself or be resentful and would say. f*ck IT. I am leaving. But lately, it put me to a very introspective mood and perhaps, after all I have been so wrong. Maybe.

I feel now, like I just stepped into a wild land mine of brokenness and disgust. Of callousness and and deep disgust towards the current system of our government portrayed buy these papers I read every morning. What is so significant is the fact that there is so much openness on such accusation of our system yet you see the transparency of the act itself within the local government.

This blog is to examine our level of commitment to examine ourselves and conscience if we can change and more on a personal level. Those that are so intolerant about other's ideas yet do nothing for themselves to look deep into their heart and examine conscientiously why they act opposite to what they project who they are. A very low and disdainful attitude.

My question is: Have you ever encountered such people? Were you negatively affected by them? Your level of intolerance on this kind of mentality? Was it more of a scorn? Or pity? Is there a hope for us to change those that run our system? Or are we resigned and just accept as our life rolls down the lane of destruction?

Thank you all for your participation, opinions and comments. Believe me, I truly appreciate.

MY SON, My Second Personal Blog

Part of my changing is going through all the things that were so prevalent in my youth relative to societal customs, values and mores. All the rigorous if not meticulous and conscientious control of my growing is now being looked at and inspected as though it is being examined for me to win a big draw in life. As if the result of this introspective and painstaking moments I am spending will give me the chance to change my life and relive it to the direction of the most advantageous way for me to get ahead in the next thirty years of my future. (that is if I get lucky to live that long)

In reality, I don't have any regrets, having been the youngest college professor during my time in my beloved birth country speak volumes that I had to initiate radical customary and cultural changes in order to have achieved and materialized my dreams given the economic and political and socio cultural situation of my country when I was young and even today. Being one of the poorest country in the world.

But this blog is not all about this or me. What it is, is the fact that I am now retired from the working capital of the world and I have all the luxury of time thinking and rethinking about what I should do, now, and better yet, what would I do now based on my past for the next 30 years of my life.

While I have a very clear cut understanding that room for mistakes on this coming months of my life is very narrow if not absolutely with zero ground as my economic venture collapsed with the global meltdown.

So having said that, I do have to look at all the angles on venturing this new chapter of life. Only I have compartmentalized it and the first thing is to look at my children and this is about my ONLY ONE AND BELOVED SON.

Here is what I have decided. First I have to wean away from my four lovely children aged from 22 to 30. Three of whom have a family of their own and the youngest, my only son, is still living in lala land. He has a good job let me tell you that, but having denied himself the portals of exclusive and elite schools of which would have been his direction, just went down the drain. He is the most intelligent of all my kids and of his classmates from Catholic School and yet it is the same intelligence that has shaped his critical and borderline hatred for the society for which he wants to change. He does know all the ills of the world and has a very good idea on how to fix it, but he is so hopelessly perched on the mind set that this world with the way humanity is today is completely crippled and no amount of change can make it better.

We oppose a lot in many ways. He possesses all the elements that I have questioned during my time. He knows all about the philosophies of Karl Marx, Engel, Thomas Aquinas, and all the prominent political stalwarts of change and yet remain undecided and worse disdainful about the possibility of contributing in the world's shape for better direction.

So where am I going? My question is, do you have any child whom you put so much trust that they know what they are doing, but in reality worry so much about them because he is a picture of conflicting puzzles and questions you have never encountered in your life?

By the way his heroes are Gandhi, Isaac Newton and Albert Enstein. Right now he works as a security at a major department store and have become the employee of the month on his third month. Saved the company so much money for initiating policies that no manager has ever heard before.

All I want from you all is to share me your feelings, your positions, and your ideas should you have any child like mine. Otherwise, any ideas and or opinions or contributions are all appreciated..

Thank you all.

OUR PURPOSE IN LIFE

I was sitting all alone and feeling so abandoned. So orphaned and disowned and this was probably my last drop of dark emotions brought about by the loss of my connections for the last 25 years of my life. To most of you who has read and so kindly encouraged me to move on regarding that episode of my life, thank you all so much. I am ready to face the world. I am me, again, I hope. I have come to terms of the fact that it will not come back. What I lost is something that I can only accept and that I should truly all put it behind me. And so I have.

This is a well thought of blog to contemplate why I am here. What truly is the reason why I am here. Was l just selected randomly to be born out of my genetic parents and go through life experiencing all these unprecedented events in my life? For what? For whose purpose and for whom it will benefit and serve?

We all know we are born for a reason. A purpose, and objective, something that gives us the perspective of what define us. To ourselves, our friends, society and the world as a whole.

The question is, were we responsible in setting up the goal, the direction of which we followed through and labored so that we can utilize our knowledge of truly knowing who we are? Was it really us, who created and molded our destiny? Is the layout and blueprint of our journey was a product of someone else other than us? Were we destined to be here? Whether we like it or not, these events successive and progressive through times are but a testament of what was made for us to play? Or did we really put our efforts and our time in creating it for us?

First of all, we all know that nobody came to this world, born upon our own direct effort and energy. We were born as a gift of life from whom we are formed. The genetic imprint of our parents to our being. But my blog today has nothing to do with our biological and genetic element, rather it is a philosophical question as to what amount of responsibility did we play to determine who we are, who we have become? Are there times when we at a certain age and time come to a point of being introspective of who we are? That all the things that happened in our life, is a path and a mold that was really for us? Or is there something that we could have done any better? Or as most of us have done, we live a life that we did put an effort to define who we are and feel fulfilled and contented?

Or if we had a chance to do it all again, what would we change in our life? Taken into account our dreams, youths, ambitions, and what make us who we are to ourselves and to the world as a whole.

Or are you all happy, contented and fulfilled? And that nothing is needed to be changed at all?

Thank you all so much for your contributions..

Torture and Sufferings, Perpetrators and victims

Let's face it, life is full of mysteries. Full of questions that are so beyond human mind to satisfactorily find an answer. Full of dark elements it is sometimes so impossible to accept and understand. Humanity is beset with imperfections. Our comprehension is so limited and sometimes I call these inhuman acts, the works of the devil. We do things that sometimes challenge our moral and ethical values. Some are mild and some are just horrendous. In example, the Holocaust, Mai Lai Massacres, Slaughters of people from Africa, Genocide from Serbia. Not to mention the many atrocities and brutalities committed against humanity through wars.

This is not the main point of this blog. Rather the examination of conscience and understanding why man can possibly inflict harm and injury to others. So mutilating and so inhuman. The worst part is that these acts are done by unsuspecting, normal people, whom we trust around us and in the end, it is such a difficult process to bring them to justice of their being so sly and so believable in their lies. And, they do everything to claim their innocence making our justice system waste and spend a lot of money, energy and resources just to prove them guilty.

I just watched a movie based on actual events, FROZEN GROUND. It is about the commission of a very heinous crimes involving rape, torture and murder of 24 women. The perpetrator lied for as long as he could to the authorities and it took a great deal of time and money for the authority to prove his case. The worse part is that he led a very religious, very stable job, with family and children, and one would never ever suspect his capacity to commit such an evil act. Eventually he confessed and recovered 11 out of 17 bodies and marks as one of the worst crimes ever recorded in the State of Alaska.

In my state of mind, I can't help but wondering how can man be ever capable in conceiving this act let alone commit them? It was so difficult to witness such a mind boggling and heart wrenching story without truly asking so many questions that is so hard to answer. While I cried so much on the movie, 12 Years a Slave, this movie just made me feel so mad and so hurt for the victims.

Any opinions?

VANITY

One true dark element of human nature is this emotion. The excessive display of pride and glory attached to our achievements. The all mighty trait of: "I am better than you attitude" The exultation of our ego. Our love for ourselves and not mindful of others.

When we become vain, we tend to give credit to no one but just the "ME" and all but me attitude. Self worship, self-worth to be shouted to the whole world.

Question. Why do we allow ourselves to be a victim of this vicious and cruel trait? Or is it all in the mind? Or is there a good result to be shared and experienced by being vain?

Thank you all for your contributions and comments.

Materialism In the World Today

Materialism is a theory that physical matter is the only or fundamental reality and that all being and processes and phenomena can be explained as manifestations or results of matter.

It is also regarded as a doctrine that the only or the highest values or objectives lie in material well being and in the furtherance of material progress and also a doctrine that a social and economic change is materially caused.(WIKIPEDIA)

I was reading about some of the fundamental thoughts of LAO TZU and I came across this: "BE CONTENT WITH WHAT YOU HAVE; REJOICE IN THE WAY THINGS ARE. WHEN YOU REALIZE THERE IS NOTHING LACKING,THE WHOLE WORLD BELONGS TO YOU."

Given with the definition above and what is the prevailing economic situation and social tendencies of the world today, I personally feel how we have become so motivated by this materialistic progression of our lives, and deem equated in our measure of who we truly are. What a contrast on the content of Lao Tzu's philosophy.

I have come into conclusion that perhaps if we have our chances, our material instincts and objectives supersede our commitment to fulfill our intellectual and or spiritual motivations. An occurrence that I myself had personally experienced. (I have changed, become so simple and couldn't care less about any value of material possession in my present life).

NOTE: I know for a fact that the third world and or a society which survives from hand to mouth wouldn't be concerned with this dilemma. Although, those that are in the 20 percent rate are the richest in the world..

Any difference in opinion? Is our modern and advance world pretty much characterized by such a direction? Is it wrong? Just how much is enough?

Thanks for all your peruse and contributions.

MARIJUANA LEGALIZED, ARE YOU FOR IT OR NOT? WHY?

In the US there are 21 States that has decriminalized and legalized the use of Marijuana. Yet the federal Government, still maintains their provisions as having no good use for the user.

PROVISIONS PROVIDED BY FROM WIKIPEDIA

Cannabis remains a Schedule I substance under
federal law as of 2013.

Main article: Cannabis in the United States

The use, sale, and possession of cannabis (marijuana) in
the United States is illegal but the federal government has
announced that if a state wants to pass a law to
decriminalize cannabis for recreational use they can do so,
but they need to have a regulation system in place for
cannabis. Cannabis is listed as a Schedule I substance
under the Controlled Substances Act of 1970, the highest
classification under the legislation. This means that the
substance has been decided by the federal government to
have both high abuse potential and no established, safe
medical use.

However, individual state laws do not always conform to
the federal standard. State-level proposals for the
rescheduling of cannabis have met with mixed success. A
number of states have decriminalized the substance to
varying degrees, other states have created exemptions
specifically for medical cannabis, and several have both
decriminalization and medical laws. Two states, Colorado,
and Washington, have legalized the recreational use of
cannabis following the approval of state referenda in the
2012 elections.

NOTE:A. I have not used any illegal substance in any form in my whole life. Nor have had any criminal record except for my failure to pay all my Federal Income Taxes (2007, but almost settled per my arrangement, this year is my last). However, one member of my immediate family, went to jail for insisting on the provisions of this law, being approved in my State but remains subject to the criminal implication of the Federal law. He went to jail and helped him out.

B. Mendocino county had been regarded as the haven of major Marijuana plantations organized by world wide cartels and two years ago, they raided and burned 5 billion US dollars of value before it was harvested..

I live about two hours away from this place.

Thank you all for your reads and comments.

This blog is intended for learning purposes only and understanding why not all are in favor..

Also I would like to add that Heroin and Cocaine, according to the news arrive in my country by trillions of dollars value and only confiscate about half of that. Go figure..same thing with illegal human trafficking, but this is another blog..

Thank you all for your valued participation and opinions.

TO BELIEVE OR NOT BELIEVE

I am a little hesitant on making my first debut on the blog after my imbroglio and would have decided to leave this place completely but because of so many of you that wrote me and care, I decided to stay and be with you longer. At least for a while longer..I hope.

This topic is almost as controversial as life itself and I have always maintained my own belief without necessarily be sensationalized but given all the celebrated topics on the blog lately, I am so tempted to yet again, explore a very sensitive and almost excruciatingly injurious and laborious to the mind discussion: The belief or no belief of GOD.

The question is why do you believe? Reasons? And if not, why?

Below is my personal reasons and I have maintained these reasons after so many books I have read and after so many discussions I have engaged with.

I believe because, if the collective geniuses of the world including but not limited to Dr. Neil Tyson de Grazzie, a Quantum Physicist and Dr. Richard Dawkins, both well known professors at Oxford University can't explain to me in layman's word the origin of this universe and until today CAN'T TELL ME WHERE THE END OF THIS Vast and expanse of space, then I have to give my belief to whom I call: God, and I am just and insignificant being. Having said that, I also believe that yes, there are other planets out there similar with us otherwise, all this space would be such a waste. If we truly are just but a tiny speck on this planet among millions more of galaxies in the Milky Way. (Coincidentally, NASA just released the latest report the other day that with the latest instrument, they discovered 750 more planets out there.)

So my friends, thank you so much for your participation and opinions.

I respect all other's belief and no way am I imposing mine to them as I expect them not to impose their beliefs on me..
