Eye candy

Been and paddled. 3 h 9 min; 10.04 km; 1042 kcal according to spy app.

Saw an eagle, for the second time in this fjord. Is it a young couple trying to establish itself in a new location? If so – that’d be totally awesome.

Saw herons and swans in a large number. Saw as well the couple with 2 cygnets, that I’ve followed since they were newly hatched in the end of July. They are growing contour feathers now and changing from grey-brown to white.

Turned the corner of Jönsborg and saw 2 roe deer: they stood still for a while – two beautiful silhouettes against the grey skies – and then disappeared behind the top of the hill delicately moving their thin legs, like ballerinas on pointes.

And on the other side – the absolute joy and the meaning of the tour: a seal was lying leisurely in the middle of the sea. Enjoying the mild weather of +5 C, almost no wind, some drizzle and light fog. Lying on a flat stone covered with water due to high tide. Like walking on water, but cooler. Stopped paddling and dug up my phone. It didn’t mind. Was drifting towards it with elements, it didn't mind. Took a few pictures, it didn’t mind. Didn’t want to disturb and kept myself at a reasonable distance. The first seal for four weeks.

Didn’t see any sea stars today... well, high tide. Another eye candy to look forward to.

Coincidence?

Discrimination by race and sex or, rather, denial of its existence: the ole’ good subject; evergreen.

Then don’t forget bashing emigrants and ex-spouses. Someone has to be blamed for our failures.

Now the new entertainment – the pandemic: wet dream for home-woven conspiracists all around the world.

And politics! Don’t forget politics!

So many hills to die on. So many crusades to fight.

Why are there so many crusaders among the single?

Solution

Once upon a time there were a wife and a husband and then they got older and somewhat senile. They stopped do anything else but squabbling and counting each other’s faults and wrongdoings. To such a degree that their livelihood was on its brink with starvation becoming a tangible prospect within very short time.

The wife then went to the local priest to seek advice on rescuing family and life. The priest gave her a little bottle with holy water and told her to take a little sip and hold it in the mouth each time her old hemorrhoid starts a squabble and swallow it only after he’d shut up.

As soon as she returned home, the old man started whining about where she’s been while nothing is done at home, no dinner, no fresh shirts, dust and webs everywhere… The woman wanted to answer in the usual mode, but then she remembered about holy water and took a sip of it and hold it in her mouth without swallowing. Within rather short time the husband’s spark died out without fuel and he went out to attend to male responsibilities.

Eventually they life returned on even keel, as everybody could guess. The only worrying thing is: what will they do when the wife runs off of holy water.

I’d like to get a lover

Previous experience required.

Now I cannot post so short a blog. They need fifty (50) characters. What exactly for?

Regn

Yesterday and today and tomorrow. And forecast is equally unpromising for the next 2 weeks. Can’t go swim, can’t go paddle. Sitting at home, posting stupid comments.

Harbal’s little frogs are all over the paths in the nearest forest. Can’t go there either: don’t want to stomp them to death, do I? Could be someone’s prince.

Supposed to be my vacation :/

Love, poverty and war

99.7 of the letters I receive suggest we are to become friends. When I ask what exactly they mean, they answer: normal friends.

I don’t know your norms. I never had male friends. If you can’t fix my sewage or shift my tires, what exactly do I need you for?

From my perspective – O.Henry, please, forgive me for reformulation – but as I see it: a real friendship is to survive love, poverty and war.

If I’m so madly in love that I cannot sleep, eat, work, live… I talk only about him… will you be there for me to listen to and support? Ad infinitum? If not – you are not my friend.

If I suddenly become so poor, that I’d have to beg money for food, will you still be my friend? If not - you are not my friend.

If there’s war between our countries… are you still my friend then?

Those are my requirements to a friend.

Good news: it’s voluntarily ??

Thouroughly planned day

Effortlessness takes preparation. Therefore I fill bottles with fresh water beforehand. Thus prepared…

...just to discover myself sitting in a traffic jam a few kilometers long stirring at the back end of the car in front of me for 40 minutes. And afterwards it moved slowly too. Nonetheless, made it to the 12.20 ferry (don’t ask) just to discover that the marina folk went off to handle some kind of emergency. Was sitting in the sun doing nothing for 1 h 20 min. There was literally nothing I could do, but enjoy the weather – nothing to wash or clean or tidy – just be: best time of the day.

…been launched at last and set off against 5 m/s from West. In the context it means I have to paddle for ca 2 hours against wind, round an island called Jonsborg and then ride back to the marina with “sea-taxi”, surfing on waves and carried by wind, not a worry in the world.

…when behind Jonsborg, the wind abated. Found myself in a little bay– a space surrounded by tiny islands – a stone garden with absolutely transparent water exposing treasures on the bottom, as in an aquarium – a place there sea stars come from. Bobbed there for eternity, enjoying the sun, the life below and above the surface.

As there’s no wind, got to splash all the way back on my own. Saw a halo. Geese with goslings and ducks with ducklings everywhere. Then a quick good bye at marina and driving home – wonderfully tired, all senses overfilled with the most beautiful memories.

As planned.

The amazing power of Qigong

I started to exercise Qigong for about a year ago. First 6-8 min once a day, gradually increasing to 15-20 min twice a day.

This method produced a handsome revenue: this very morning - lo and behold - I've won 10 SEK in lottery. For the first time in my life! And it wasn't even I who bought the ticket!!!

Yay!

Lovely, lovely spring

Nice sunny weather, almost warm. You just ache to get out.

Birdies chirpeth. Insects buzzeth. Wabbits mateth. Pollen spreadeth.

I have all signs of a cold: fever, headache, running nose, increased appetit…

Lovely, lovely spring!

Limitations

Arrived to the paddling rendezvous a few minutes to early and wanted to use the opportunity - the sunny weather, the stillness, the solatude - for a short meditation. But as soon as I closed my eyes and took a deep concsious breath, I've been attacked by a large fly.

To see a fly at our latitude on 30 Dec was a wonder on its own. And this one was so fat and zaftig... I regretted that I don't eat flies :/

Those numerous limitations of mine...

Where is the logic - II

Upon arriving to Charles de Gaulle, while the plane was taxiing to the terminal, saw a fox trotting along the runway strip. What was it doing there? Looking for road kill?
