High ranking Women in uniform...

From time-to-time photos of a woman in uniform turns up on CS. That excites me... doesn't it excite you? Take for example, new member 46 year old Sargent Joanne from California. I find it amazing as her profile shows four-star General Ann Elizabeth Dunwoody who was the first woman to become a four-star general back in 2008. Some people say women cannot do a man's job, but when it comes to the military, Ann is retired now and celebrated her 70 birthday this month.
Congrats...

Cover Band...

Cover Band is a name that describes a musical group who plays songs written by other artists. You have to start somewhere and newly formed groups are known to cover songs by other groups. Usually, depending on their talent, it's a reasonable copy of the other artist/group. Many classic songs in the 50's were covered on albums by other artists. That seemed to be the normal.
Some actually became famous doing a different arrangement of a cover. A few good examples of those covers would be Vanilla Fudge doing The Supreme's hit You Keep Me Hangin' On. The Byrds covered Turn! Turn! Turn! written by Pete Seeger but they did it so well, Seeger actually covered their version!

In some circles, super talented musicians often looked down on cover bands as though they aren't good enough to write their own music. Maybe they are and maybe they aren't as my opinion is it's BS. Why? The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix got their start covering songs, many were material from American blues and rock & roll performers.

One of my favorite cover bands of 'tribute band status' is Brit Floyd who have toured doing Pink Floyd covers.

If CS suddenly closed their site...

I'm doing some 2023 what if scenarios and pondered what would happen If CS suddenly closed their site... Happy? Sad? Some trauma? Indifference? Woah, what thoughts to the number of hours each week I spend here.

I suppose I could pick up where I left off on that online study course in brain surgery...

thumbs up

Another Tesla nightmare...

This involves Tesla's operating in FSD (Full Self-Driving) mode and unexpectedly abruptly braking. This week, it caused an 8-car pileup on the San Francisco Bay Bridge.
Video shows the car entering the tube and stopping. I'm thinking it has to with loss of GPS signal, but some comments from Tesla test drivers have experienced the same problems on the open road.
This safety glitch could be serious.

Rock stars going under the knife...

Going under the knife is a term for surgery as in scalpel. The topic of this blog: PLASTIC SURGERY. The list is long.

Once considered a Rock musician Kenny Rogers switched to Country Music and found a bigger audience. Fortune and fame also included looks and vanity. People were shocked to see the 'New Kenny'
Sorry man, the surgeon pulled too tight on you.!

In no specific order:
Paul McCartney is now 80 years old and was reported to have several surgeries over his 55 plus years of performing. Always subtle changes enough to keep the female fans running back!
Giving up the ghost, he's been letting his grey hair show through and he could use another 'nip & tuck' on his jowls as they are sagging... again.

Your weekly dose of Donald... Pre Christmas Edition!

I've mentioned many times that Trump is a 'world class' conman. It's safe to say that no man past or present could come close to his accomplishments. With hundreds of thousands sending money and thousands paying to attend his 'save America' rallies, he's a "Grifter gone gold" and you can quote me on that!

Earlier this week, I saw a story claiming he hoarded most of the $147 million in donor raised money. Are you salivating yet?

I've got something that will top that ten-fold.

His major announcement (Just in time for Christmas) Donal Trump Digital Trading Cards.
Yes, you heard it here first.
Oh... the price is only $99 !!

This is by-far the best of the best... better than Trump steaks or Trump wine.
Your favorite of all time president who claims to be better than Lincoln, better than Washington.
Depicted in Super Hero poses, laser eyes, Racer, astronaut, sports star, in a shower of Trump stamped gold bullion... You need this. I can tell!

Your weekly dose of Donald... 2023 edition

It hasn't been quiet in Trump world, not for one minute. A few news stories daily and 'Trutes' from his TRUTH social media site keeping those 'Libs' on their toes.

I'm surprised no one on CS mentioned that Biden had classified documents in his possession. Trump did and wants to know why the FBI didn't raid his many homes.

Hmmm... that's one to ponder!

Your weekly dose of Donald... After Christmas clearance.

There's so much going on in 'Trump World' I don't know where to start. I guess you can only hold back things so much before cracks in the foundation appear.
Donald did say he would release his taxes... then he claimed he was being audited and couldn't, but that story was debunked.
After several years of legal wrangling, the U.S. House Ways and Means committee released six years of Trump’s tax returns today. Indirectly, he's no longer a liar.
Thank you.

Bob says:
Remember when Trump insisted that Obama release his school records, and then refused to release his own school records. His people even went so far as to try to remove the records from the school so they couldn't been seen by anyone.

Not surprising, he lied constantly about his school record:

Trump said he was top of his class at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton business program, where he finished his undergraduate degree, but Trump’s name does not appear on the school’s dean’s list or on the list of students who received academic honors in his class of 1968.

Commander Bone-Spurs also claimed that his military academy background provided “more training militarily than a lot of the guys that go into the military.”

Paid no taxes ? I already like his accountant more than mine. I’ll look him up. Unless he’s already in the Big House with bars at the windows.

Gene said:
Trump's tax returns are out.

The picture that emerged showed that for all Trump's claims to be a great businessman, his core businesses — a sprawling network of hotels, golf courses and other properties — have lost millions of dollars year after year.

“He’s a staggering loser,” said Steven M. Rosenthal, a senior fellow in the Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center.

Rob said:
What is revealed is that the Trump Organization is basically a Ponzi scheme. Trump was able to keep replenishing it with more and increasingly larger loans until the bankers cried "No more!" (They realized that a guy who could bankrupt multiple casinos was not a good risk.) Then he started refueling by laundering money stolen by oligarchs from the Russian people. The Presidency was a stopgap which enabled him to sucker his followers time after time, grifting millions in small donor contributions. I suspect he is at the end of the road. It will probably all come crashing down in a spectacular fashion!

Sometimes brutally accurate, I always enjoy reading the comments.

The House panel investigating the Capitol riot announced it would withdraw the subpoena it had issued Trump, citing that congressional investigators had run out of time to pursue it.
Some people think of it as a win for Trump. Is having enough lawyers to delay the process could be considered a win? A win of sorts I suppose.
I know it didn't work out in Steve Bannon's favor or the 3 men who conspired to swindle donors to a private group that promised to build a wall along the Mexican border.

There's more... next time!

Dating a dog...

Some profiles have their primary photo (and sometimes only photo) of a dog. I surmise the relationshit is clouded by someone who isn't willing to show their real photo. Yeah, to those women, it's attention getting for the wrong reason. Guys will probably click out of curiosity and move on because no one wants to date a dog.

I'll make this a two-part blog.

That leads up to women and dogs. It was cool to date women with dogs when I was in high school and college. One girl I dated was living with her parents, going to college and sometimes helping with the family business. One of the benefits of being in a wealthy family was her trained Irish Setter had been professionally groomed.

Years later, I found myself dating divorced women with young children. I could get through the children part... it was the family 'god' I had issues with. No, I'm not dyslexic. One dog was so aggressive he had to be penned in another room when I visited. That was a short lived relationship. Another short lived relationship had the overly happy dog jumping on the furniture vying for attention. Could these relationships gone farther if the dogs weren't part of the equation? Possibly.

Recently, I worked with a woman who took sick days to care for her dog. She was really good at her job, but the boss was annoyed when she lost time baby sitting her dog or weekly trips to the veterinarian. I know she was dating and I believe a few guys had ghosted her... probably because the sickly dog was the focal point of the relationship.
On days when she brought her dog to the office, he would quietly sit on a cushion near her desk. When she got up to greet customers or go to another office, the dog would let out a cry of loneliness you could hear throughout the showroom.

ISO files...

I don't play or copy CD's DVD's or Blueray discs and have avoided programs that allow you to save those forms of media to another system. I saw one available for free today on give away of the day dot com.
One of my clients is in the business of total home automation where lights, appliances, window shades can be controlled via an iPhone. That includes TV's and sound system throughout the house. He has software that allows him to copy any DVD, including protected ones and migrate those movies to a huge hard drive so the clients total library is accessible and they don't have to flip DVD's to watch movies.

Since I'm avoiding Geekdom, much of that process uses ISO files. A quick read says it's a compressed single file of the contents of data or possibly an operating system. So copying an entire DVD to one ISO file so it can be played directly from the system without having to play the DVD.

Most of the people I know who are deeply into streaming, have Netflix or some other service so they pull whatever video they want via internet to see from a huge library. Unless they have a big collection of movies, they probably bypassed the ISO phase.

I'll probably read a little more for the knowledge as I'm told you can copy an entire Windows operating system to ISO for future retrieval.

Ghosting...

There are several definitions to the word ghosting but a recent one involves the disappearance of a casual date where you sever all forms of communication with them... or if you've been ghosted, they sever all forms of communication with you.

Texts go unanswered, calls ignored, they disappear like a ghost.

Usually this happens with no warning, suddenly all contact with a person ends without explanation.

For example, meeting someone at Starbucks, striking up a conversation that leads to an exchange of phone numbers. You go out a few times and one day there is no response to your text messages.

Poof... You have become the victim of a ghosting!

Thanks for reading my blog... if I don't respond, consider yourself ghosted. KIDDING...
