Dorian... meet Florida!

Currently... Dorian is a tropical storm off the coast of Venezuela. Maximum sustained winds are 60 miles per hour and expected to reach hurricane strength Wednesday morning as it crosses over the Dominican Republic on it's way to Florida.
I'm not a weather forecaster, nor do I play one in a TV series, but a few degrees north and it's away from Florida and headed to the Carolina's

Hopefully no lives are lost because of it.
that time of the year again.
The 5 p.m. advisory shows a slight turn into Florida. I'm waiting to see what the 8 p.m. advisory shows.
The 8pm advisory has the storm heading directly to Mar-a-Lago.
The 5am advisory has Dorian as a tropical storm and not reaching hurricane intensity.
It's predicted to continue Northwest and curve West-Northwest over the Bahamas.
By Sunday morning Dorian will hit the East coast of Florida North of West Palm Beach, probably in the Port St. Lucie area.
I was wondering why we were having such a calm hurricane season but bro told me yesterday to keep my eye on this storm. Heck I totally forgot about it until this blog. I should watch the news but I don't, music sounds so much better.

Please keep me posted if need by I'll grab the fur butts and head north.
The forecast this morning is a TOTAL change from yesterday.
Dorian is now predicted to become a hurricane early Friday morning, move further North and hit landfall in the St. Augustine region, more than half-way up the East coast of Florida sometime in the early hours of Monday.
That's our historical city, let's hope it changes course again and heads out more to the Atlantic. fingers crossed.
Stock up on non-perishable food, batteries & bottled water now, before the rush, Fay.
Oh yeah. My son texted me yesterday that Costco already has lines of 30 people long. I'm still NOT watching the news because it is meant to terrify us and I get terrified.
What nastics said, Fay thumbs up

Plus a few other items -
1)Turn your garage into a Faraday Cage so your vehicle will still function.
2) Keep your camouflaged underground fuel tank full & the fuel long term stabilized.
3) Convert all your liquid assets into precious metals - In this case - guns & ammo.
... It'll be invaluable in a barter economy.
Also - you'll be able to arm your unprepped friends & acquaintances in exchange for pledging their unquestioning loyalty to YOU under pain of Death - enabling you to establish yourself as a post-apocalyptic war lord with your private fiefdom.

I went out to stock up - so is everyone else, every store is packed.
Holiday weekend coming so it's anticipated the stores would be busy.
Already a frenzy at the 24 hour Wal-Mart. I'll try back at 3am...
I have been through every storm that has passed by or came upon my shores since 1956 blues I think I actually liked it better when they didn't sensationalize them for days. Irma put a hurting on me. Took me over a year to get my home livable again. And still have a few things I would like to fix (cosmetic) lets hope by some change of heart she goes out to sea and leaves all of us alone blues I am in Vero Beach and the stores are already crazy. So are the gas stations. I scheduled a long weekend off from work for the holidaymumbling
8/29 Dorian Update -

Buying water.
Why not just fill containers with tap water confused

Use gallon jugs, don't completely fill them & put 'em in a freezer.
Should power go out, use the jugs for refrigeration.

This went from a 'nothing to worry about' tropical storm to a prediction of a category 3 hurricane. Moving slowly and picking up intensity, the forecast is for Dorian to reach landfall Monday morning.
