Our fire dept. has one main road,25 mph with
Pedestrian right of way, and deer.
Twice a day noon and four they race
down this street.I could set my watch by it.
Are fire depts required to have a quota like police depts because no one can figure out these
pointless runs.

But you're correct - Emergency services over-respond.
I once saw a guy faint after getting outta an AC'd car in a hot parking lot.
A cop car, ambulance & fire truck showed up.
Makes sense.
The more "incidents" they respond to, the more they can ask for (& get) big budgets.
