If you go to France on a holiday, you don't eat in a McDonalds.
For example: If everyone at your work wears formal then it would be good that you wear formals too as when in Rome do as the Romans do

I didn't realise that you just wanted google copy and paste answers laugh

Re. my example,
In France, French people eat good food in good restaurants. When there on a stay, one should eat French food as French people do. Not eat generic fast food available anywhere in the world.
well Molly would be nice too if you can site some practices that is not googled...we can learn from youdunno confused wine
I gave you an example dunno

Basically, you follow the practices of those in the place that you are in.

If you are in a country where they don't want you to visit their holy sites with your shoulders and legs uncovered, you cover your shoulders and legs, out of respect.

If you go to a country where it is tradition to share your food with those around you, you share your food with those around you.

It is about being culturally-sensitive and embracing that culture
"When in Rome, do as the Romans do" is applicable in every aspect of our lives (not only in Rome).

It is simple, If you are in a group and you don't follow the decision of the group, then you are left behind.

I don't agree with the food side of things, some foods don't agree with some people and its not worth getting a sore guts just to fit in with masses.. but respecting cultural and religious customs is a must..
I agree with Butcher thumbs up
It means when in Bangkok, do as Thais do.
Go massage parlor every night, and enjoy the show in Patpong street.
Don't forget Pattaya beach.
It means pack your toga.
I’m in Sri Lanka. Here it is normal to eat curry 3 times a day. I enjoy curry but every day is too much for me. So I vary my diet I have curry every other day and fruit every other day. So I can and do blend in with the local culture. On Sunday I’ll travel to the capital city Colombo and most likely have a western style lunch or dinner as I’m western. But still can show respect to the local culture.
It won’t be McDonald’s or KFC
