Former national security adviser John Bolton claims in his forthcoming book that every decision President Donald Trump has made in office has been “driven by reelection calculations.”
Bolton’s publisher, Simon & Schuster, shared the remarks Friday in a news release promoting the book, which details Bolton’s year and a half working for Trump. The president fired Bolton in September.
“I am hard-pressed to identify any significant Trump decision during my tenure that wasn’t driven by reelection calculations,” Bolton writes, saying he was often “astonished” by Trump’s singular motivation.
Bolton, one of the most controversial figures in American foreign policy, described Trump as a “president for whom getting reelected was the only thing that mattered, even if it meant endangering or weakening the nation.”
The former adviser also argues in the book excerpts that the House committed impeachment malpractice by leading a trial focused narrowly on Trump’s transgressions with Ukraine, and that the House should have also explored similar foreign policy violations Trump has committed elsewhere. It’s currently unclear what other incidents Bolton has in mind.
“Trump’s Ukraine-like transgressions existed across the full range of his foreign policy — and Bolton documents exactly what those were, and attempts by him and others in the Administration to raise alarms about them,” the Simon & Schuster news release states.
But Bolton wasn’t willing to speak out against the president when it really mattered: during Trump’s impeachment trial. At the time, Bolton threatened a legal battle if Congress subpoenaed him and ultimately did not testify in the proceedings. Reports during the lead-up to the impeachment trial alleged Bolton’s opposition to appearing was rooted in a desire to distance himself from being implicated in any crimes.
Bolton’s book, “The Room Where It Happened,” is scheduled for release June 23.

The worst president in US history has already harmed the USA many ways.
He was impeached and should have been removed from office.
Hopefully, the American public will not again be fooled by his lies and misleading statements and the Russian online propaganda.

It's obvious you have a passion for hating Trump...I think we know this
Obviously, Trump is the epitome of both. I dislike his common behavior, not the person
himself.
Too funny...you are a comedian...

Schiff Says He Will Consult with Pelosi on ‘Next Steps’ on Bolton Book.
Very true.
The Justice Department has filed an emergency order seeking to block the release on national security grounds.
Constitutional experts say the move is unlikely to succeed and US media have already published extracts.
Before anyone takes a word of John Bolton’s new book seriously, they should be reminded that Bolton refused to testify under oath without a subpoena and that Democrats didn’t want to subpoena him because, without lying, he had nothing.
John Bolton is all over the place trying to make a buck promoting a new book about his time in the Trump administration. Of course, it’s got to have some ‘red meat’ to sell, so Bolton has sold his soul by saying things that are being refuted right and left.
That's why they didn't subpoena Bolton. Trump would have claimed all sorts of stonewalling techniques.
Republicans, except for Romney, would have ignored all evidence anyway. They proved that.
Less than 5 months until the election of a new president & VP.
Will the new VP be Abrams ? Harris ? Time will tell.
Unfortunately, you're the one who is twisting things around, if Democrats didn't want to spend several years in court it's mainly because they failed to prove anything with the Christine Blasey Ford Vs Kavanaugh circus show, including the laughable Mueller Report, not forgetting the ridiculous impeachments full of lies for 3+ years and several coups to hide their own crimes... Bolton's book actually confirms this. Nothing impeachable and no crimes committed in regards to Trump. Pelosi can't win an election fairly and rigging it is the only option she has left.
It's just a pathetic disgruntled employee who failed to do his job being fired bordering on treason for leaking information which shows he can't be trusted and laced with BS that has no validity to even make it to trial. The only thing Democrats proved is that they are cowards and abusing power in which wasted millions making them look like total fools.
Abrams... pleeeeeeeease.
I've never said anything about Russia and China except they are our enemies and I have been saying that for years. I was hoping, many years ago, we could improve things with China but that's long gone.
So let me repeat in very simple childlike terms so he can possibly understand.

I THINK TRUMP IS A FAILURE LIKE GENERAL LEE
I DISLIKE LIARS AND HAVE NEVER KNOWING LIED ON CS.
Regarding Bolton book.
The Democrats supposedly did an insufficient impeachment and Bolton argues there were more crimes committed with absolutely no facts, evidence, or legality. Words from a rambling fool who failed to steal more information and alter it for his benefits. The focus wasn't narrow... it was fake. Your impression that all Republicans are corrupt is hysterical when you're blind to the real corruption in Congress who support ANTIFA, BLM, and the Brotherhood including the looting on streets and burning of cities to cause confusion to rig the next election. The Senate voted not to remove Trump because the president is innocent and only Romney being a pathetic RINO with an ax to grind having no integrity wanted impeachment to go through. You're making my case... all those on the left are rats. Congress are the ones making a mockery of the justice system and obstructing their sworn oaths.
Your impression that all Republicans are corrupt
However, it's clear, that there are a larger number of them, who take lobbying $$$$ and then vote against the majority
to side with the source of the lobbying $$$. THOSE ARE CORRUPT.
His slogan should be.....Make China Great Again
Blasey is less qualified than you regarding psychology. Yet, I can see similarities in the way you both think pushing your views...lying and leading with misinformation. Now even the Kavanaugh case wasn't sufficiently investigated...after 3+ years of BS the only thing that is clear is how corrupt Democrats are and the way they neglected their constituents being filled with obsessive hate. You are the last person I would trust in the real world and still, all leftists share your traits.
With your style of answering it was definitely implied that you believe all Republicans are corrupt if they don't vote the way you wish. There are very few Democrats who are genuine and I would struggle naming three. Obama created this along with Bush and Clinton with a slow progression... now the left is insane and yet many conservatives are becoming patriotic again and this is a good sign.
Such an idiot,sad.
It is a simple fact that Kavanaugh’s accusers on the committee are proven liars – Feinstein in withholding the letter in the first place (not to mention denying how it became public), Booker concerning his good friend T-Bone, along with his “Spartacus moment”, Blumenthal concerning his heroism in Vietnam. The stunning irony here is that Judge Kavanaugh is demonstrably more honest than any of his accusers.
This is the central truth of the Kavanaugh case. It must be hammered relentlessly, to the point where it can no longer be evaded. It must be repeated every time we’re told that “women don’t lie”. Every time someone flaunts a t-shirt reading “I Believe Her”. Every time we hear another obtuse blurt from Pelosi or Hirono. I must be repeated until it becomes the default, the meme that crowds everything else out: that the truth is not in Christine Blasey Ford, and that she is condemned by her own words.
Case closed.
In the head-to-head matchup, the (Fox News) poll finds Biden leads Trump by a 50-38 percent margin. That 12-point advantage is statistically significant, and up from Biden’s 8-point lead last month (48-40 percent).
