Making plans for the USA! (part 6)

Ah yes, it is that time again! Time for an update to my preparations for my trip to the USA.

In this episode: A new place to visit, and what vaccine requirements I need to travel to the US.

Let's start with the vaccine requirements. My cousin advised me to look up the requirements for vaccines, when traveling to the USA. I have gotten three shots of the Pfizer. Two doses of the vaccine, as well as a booster shot, so I consider myself fully vaccinated. But how exactly does the CDC define "fully vaccinated"?

According to the CDC, fully vaccinated is "when you have completed a COVID-19 vaccine primary series and got the most recent booster dose recommended for you by CDC. If you have completed your primary series—but are not yet eligible for a booster—you are also considered up to date."

Seeing as I have two doses as well as the booster, I am fully up to date on my vaccine. I am still going to print out my vaccine documents, just in case they want to see my proof of vaccination.

Now that that is out of the way, I can turn my attention to what really matters: Places to visit.

I already have the basic touristy stuff planned: The White House, the Washington Monument and the Capitol building, but I have also been advised to go to what my cousin describes as the "best place on Earth to eat" - Cracker Barrel.

Now I know nothing - absolutely nothing - about Cracker Barrel, so I looked it up. The menu looks fantastic, and it seems like it's a reasonably priced place to get some food. I was also given VERY strict orders to bring home a Cracker Barrel branded mug for my cousin, since she's obsessed with the place. Her and her fiancée went to the US on their honeymoon, and they visited a Cracker Barrel. I only know Wendy's, Little Ceasars, Taco Bell, Del Taco and Popeyes, so I am always looking for new places to visit. If you live in or around the Alexandria, VA area, let me know what to try when I visit.

For now, however, time to save up some more money for the trip!

I can't wait!

Dear Phil... Your planned trip means you will have to be packing at some stage.

BE ADVISED... that in the USA, someone "packing" means they're carrying a concealed gun, so use the word advisedly.

If you want to keep to a budget, Cracker Barrell is an excellent choice. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner at all times during operating hours. I eat breakfast there once in a while for my dinner. Try Chinatown in DC as another destination for a meal.

I would suggest he Smithsonian Institute as a destination. There are many museums in the purview of the Smithsonian including, The Natural History Museum and the Air and Space Museum. The Washington subway system is excellent and pretty safe.

Hope you have a great trip!
We have a cool "waffle bowl" maker in our waffle house, to fill with fresh fruit, yogurt, etc.

Welcome to the U.S.
If you're a " foodie" and like to gnosh, try a food wagon or if you are looking to be seated, Applebee's.
rolling on the floor laughing how about mukbang?
I am bringing a sizeable amount of money with me, so I won't be doing any budget things. I do want to experience good food for cheap, so I have more money to buy souvenirs.

The Air and Space museum is already on the list of things I want to experience. Isn't that where they have a space shuttle on display? If so, I will definitely see that!

Museums in general are on my list of places to visit.
Ha yeah, I know laugh. Packing heat is not warm clothes..
thumbs up glad to hear you got a friend in the U.S. besides your cousin.

I thought that law was a little c-r-a-z-y too.

wow
Oh my cousin is Danish. She's just extremely in love with America, as is her husband. She told me that if she could ever settle down anywhere outside Denmark, it would be in Tennessee
