Getting some surprising health answers.

It's no secret that I aren't the healthiest person in the world. I eat a lot of fatty foods, particularly burgers. I like to make big monsters, such as a triple bacon cheese burger, with a LOT of bacon, cheese and grease! I also eat other stuff as well, but the common denominator is fat. My family requested that I had my cholesterol tested, so I did.

I went to the doctor, at the end of last month but it was too late in the day to take a blood test. So I had to book my own appointment in a lab, to get it done and finally see how my health is.

I did get my blood pressure measured at my doctor, and it was normal. Nothing major to be worried about there, but I still had blood work to be done. Fast forward to the day before yesterday, where I had an appointment. A few minutes after my booked time, I was guided into a small room, with a chair. The technician asked me to sit down and get comfortable.

Usually, when you get blood drawn, the technician places a rubber band on your arm, in order to draw out the vein. Mine? Well, mine popped out without the need for the rubber band. In went the needle, and out came the blood. 5 minutes after I sat down, I was finished. I then went off to work, curious at what the test would show. Definitely high cholesterol and sugar.

The results came today, and they were surprising, to say the least.

Two of the parameters were below the norm - my vitamin D and my cholesterol.

I have severe vitamin D deficit, which makes sense, because I am not in the sun a lot. The surprising one was the cholesterol. I would have bet any money that my cholesterol was too high. Instead, it's too low, but only by a tiny margin.

Am I healthy? I don't know. I will phone my doctor tomorrow to ask her what she thinks of the results. I can, however, see that I am a lot healthier than the last time I took this kind of test, so that's a plus

That video isn't really relevant to me. Mainly because the food he mention in the video isn't something I am consuming on a regular basis. Margarine has been banned for the past 20 years, and artificial sweeteners is mainly found in sugar-free stuff, which I don't consume. Good shout, though
Ha ha laugh. Probably. But I like to eat in moderation. Usually, I would stuff my face with potato chips every day, but I have kind of stopped eating them.

I have a bunch of bags laying around, but I am thinking of getting rid of them. The desire to eat them simply isn't there
The healthiest person I know has got to have to worst diet ever.

Is that a personal ban, or a government ban?
It's a government ban. Too much trans fat.
So it's not really margarine that is banned, but trans fat.

I make my own plant-based margarines with organic/foraged nut milk, lemon juice, coconut oil, olive oil and seasonings.

It's not great for spreading from the fridge and it can go mouldy fairly quickly, but it freezes well. I just hack off bits to cook, or garnish with.

I've just made a batch of wild garlic margarine which goes particularly well with steamed, or roasted purple sprouting broccoli, any brassica, or spring green.
Well done.

If I had your diet my results would be opposite to yours.
