More men than women...

Last night, I had a few webpages opened on my browser that I wanted to research in the morning. I put the computer to sleep instead of shutting down like usual. The wake sequence didn't work and I was forced to completely reboot and wait for Windows to do some recovery diagnostics.
The good thing is, I was able to recover the browser pages. After, I cleared the cache file and cookies and restart the browser. Coming to Connecting Singles and checking the new member list (before logging in) showed all new members and not only women as my normal default.

Each page shows 48 new members and there weren't many women joining.
45 men, 3 women on the first page.
44 men, 4 women on the second page.
44 men, 4 women on the third page.

It was night time in North America and I expected to see Europeans joining... that wasn't the case. Guys from Algeria, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Kuwait were the majority of new members.

I only checked the first 3 pages, but if this statistic for the most recent 500 to 600 members is the trend, something isn't right.

1 woman for every 12 men are joining.

It wasn't long ago I blogged 'they don't return' in that, scanning the list of new women joining CS drops off sharply after the 2nd page. They come, they look around, they disappear.

Can you formulate what is happening long-term... ?

My thought is:
Unless CS can advertise in places that will bring men and a lot more women from Europe, North America, South America, Australia and Asia, their chances of survival aren't real good.

Thanks for the lengthy explanation Chat why you're looking at male profiles. Wouldn't want anyone here to think you were gay. To borrow the line from Seinfeld..." Not that there's anything wrong with that"laugh

Counting ratios of men versus women? The things you waste your time on laugh
And you are a scholar?...yawn

I was wonderng why my inbox was so full of mail from new profiles, from these areas incidentally.

I aways assume they are scammers, or that at least the majority of them are. It's not uncommon for me to have 200-300 unopened mail in my inbox depending upon CS's clean up rate. I currently have 544.

I thought maybe the recent glitches and maintenance had taken priority over booting scammers off. dunno
I've just opened the first ten mail: 6 definite scam, 2 definite genuine, 2 I'm not sure, but probably scam.
Low, I'm (really not) glad to see you're obsessed with my s*xual orientation, interests in statistics and what I do in my free time.

I will say this about you...
2 or 3 years ago, you used to make funny quips on the blogs, but recently your mood has darkened, especially with your constant snarky remarks to me and about me on other members blogs. I mentioned you've become a stalker to my blogs, often being the first to comment and having enough cringe worthiness to the things you say that others have noticed it too.

Originally, I planned on deleting your immature comments, but it serves better to allow them to remain. What better way to call attention to your quirks you without having to intervene.
jac, usually the messages I get are from new members within minutes of them joining.
Many claim to be in America. One from Russia, knowing how difficult a long-distance romance could be, appeared to be testing the waters.

I don't respond to them and a high percentage either close their account or don't log back into CS.

Mentioned on this and a previous blog about the same subject.

CS needs a reason for new members to want to stay here and search and not go to Facebook or any other dating site.
Why would CS want scammers to remain?

The reason accounts get closed so quickly is likely because CS closes them, maybe after they are reported by members.

Personally, I couldn't be bothered to report them. There are so many, they reappear anyway and if CS doesn't vet the new members, I'm not doing their work for free.

Y'know, I was pretty surprised there were two genuine profiles in the first ten of my unopened mail.

Getting mail within minutes of them joining is because you are an active member who appears at the top of lists. I've just opened a batch of mail and I may send a 'Thanks, but only here for the blogs/forums' mail to the two genuine members now I've opened them - that will bump me up some list somewhere and increase the flood of scammer mail.

It's unfortunate that you have to open mail to block and delete.
jac, I believe CS really doesn't want scammers on their site. Maybe it's a touchy subject as they need new membership. Unfortunately, the bad outweighs the good. On another site, they have become resistant to closing scammer profiles when years ago they would knock them out within minutes of being reported. That's around the time where a few hundred people would be online and not it's rare to see more than 50. Membership is free there, but you cannot send or receive messages without payment.

Without saying too much, there are a few scammers who return using stolen photos of the same models over and over. It's easy to spot and they get deleted quickly.

What's the solution for finding an honest person on a dating site who is seriously looking to find someone to start a relationship?
I think any criticism is a touchy subject, so I'm going to leave it there before I get banned.
I kind of came to the same conclusion across the pond.
In a blog on the breakdown of female CS members over EU countries + UK, women over 40 were my target group. While you make selections of less than 5000, you get exact numbers. It worked out perfectly.
In a later blog aimed to these ladies to check on the number of blokes in those same countries, several selections went over 5000. Eventually I restricted the age range, listing only the number of men in their forties. (Unlike you, I selected all members, not just the new ones.)
DUH!
There are a couple of review sites that list the percentages of men vs women on dating sites.
Trustpilot and sitejabber come to mind.
All dating sites have more men than women and all make fake reports on how many connections they make.
But very few, actually none, will say that if 53 percentages of people got married then 45 percentage of those got divorced in the next few years.
Everyone lies all the time, so what does it matter?

teddybear
Is that a serious question?
Google up all the Reddit tales of woe from dating sites. 99.9% of people leave every single OLD because they failed.
I read one person who chose to use a matchmaker after failing at every OLD. In the long run the Matchmaker started listing people from his OLD experiences.
I assume immediately that everyone is lying. There are a few not looking that are honest.
Frankly I have met more women giving my email to customer service calls than here.
Once you ask too many questions, like requesting an immediate as you are right now selfie they stop contact.
Right now the women scammers have reached the bottom of the barrel, everyone knows their tricks If they were hot they would be on Onlyfans or Pornhub earning the big bucks.
We get the dumb immediate gratification ones here.
If you want to talk to women who you know are actually scamming you go to dates In Asia, they have an affiliation OyOy.
Those women will not give up.
Hard working scammers. But fun to talk to.

if you want women pick the older unattractive ones
Borrowed from the Zerohedge comments section on Passport bro's article.

Here is what's fueling movements like Passport Bros:

Research into dating apps have shown that women online only swipe on Chad's. These are you ultra good looking guys which are 8 and 9's. These women are ignorant that Chad is dating 3 to 5 women at once and could care less because he looks like a model. Then these same women end up with a high body count and do nothing but scream all over the internet that men keep cheating on them. They will never admit they only go out with Chad's. Please go watch any of the 100's and 100's of videos on sites like Youtube or Rumble which cover this topic and whats happened.

On dating app's they find that 70% or more of all swipes, likes and dates go to the absolute best looking guys which are your top 5% and 10%. Then 80% of all swipes go to the Top 20% of men. If you're not an 8 or 9 then you'll find the dating apps very disappointing and difficult to use. They say if you're a 5 or below in looks as a male you will get ZERO likes other than from an occasional bot. Even if you are an attractive guy in the 6 - 7 range you will struggle massively and doesn't matter if you have a college degree, make good money and overall a good person. The women on these dating apps don't care!! Either you look like Chad or you don't is what their research has found.

This has fueled the rise of going overseas and Passport Bros.

Here's a good introductory video that shows what's happened:

...
"Research into dating apps have shown that women online only swipe on Chad's."

Meanwhile, research shows that divorce rates of marriages, in which the partners met via matchmaking sites like A Foreign Affair, are substantially lower than average.

In the long run, feminism is its own undoing.

Best article I've read at ZH combined with what I know in a very long time.

1) Bring a woman back to USA and the locals rush to indoctrinate her- the impressionable foreign lady often has no resistance to their intellect mimicry. (Hat tip to ZHer coining that phrase few days back)

2) THREE PARTY MARRIAGE in the USA- government is the biggest swinging bick (with a d), and conversion is inevitable. Our whole society feeds upon destroying stable happy families (give this thought) as it is so profitable to keep the churn going. Happy couples are usually thrifty couples.

3) Warning: Some nations, like the Philippines, routinely see overseas work as a primary function for their children, particularly females. If you are not extremely careful, you'll find the happy, joyful, woman you discover is actually seeking a job. The difference is subtle. They are family oriented, I noticed and admired, but turned out it was her family she was devoted and oriented towards. Much pressure to send money home monthly, great if you are loaded, if not, the joyful smile turns to sullen stoic dissatisfaction- she must hear how disappointed her family is.

4) The excellent article might be expanded (imagine an article that could be longer as good!) to explain or sketch out how a Passport Bro would adapt to another nation, its laws, as you are rather marrying into a foreign nation along with a foreign bride.

5) Finally, decades ago, a fellow said to me "If you're going to find an (Asian) bride, find one that wants to stay in her home country".

Passport Bros concept distinctly passes across the same wisdom.

Aside: I think the world has radically changed, government(s) rush in to participate in family until it is destroyed, then become the family, each iteration destroying more, so more needs fixing, so they move in more, destroy more.

Eventually, males are either pacified, gay, MGTOW, or turned to ATM machines for govt, attorneys, wife.

Consider Kevin Costner. It was not how much the wife needed that was
Outside of the West sex work is legitimate work, no welfare state to fall back on a woman has to live. Most Thai sex workers have offspring they leave with the family while they sell their wares in the towns and tourist hangouts.

I wouldn't be looking for a 'wife' there as like the rest of the Far East its all about money, haven't been to Japan but the rest is just a brothel, great for relief not so good to tie up with, I've three mates who all thought they were in love with Thai women, two married them and brought them home, both got wiped out in the divorce.

The third had bought a bar over there in Pataya, his 'lady' did the day to day running while he sat drinking with mates from the UK, until he contracted some dodgy tropical disease and flew home for the free treatment while the lady kept shop. Basically she worked the place and its women for 3 months till he was well enough to return, he got back to Pataya and the bar was empty of stock and no sign of his Thai lady or any dough and that was his redundancy money and pension pot gone.

I told all three what those dames are like and not one believed me, one of them was my oldest buddy, 50 years through school and adulthood, his bird spent his dough on new teets and having her awful teeth sorted out, before she fk ed off to Bankok leaving him with a kid while she hit the big time with new teeth n ti ts.
Verbal diarrhoea anyone?
I own several websites. You van create a new website and register a new domain name (if you can find a not used one) for about $50. Then you have to keep it going and build usage and value. Some choose to skip the hassle of building a user base and becoming well known to SEOs by simply buying an already existing one. When you go to buy a used website one of the ways the world sets value on a domain is how many visitors per month are there? How many page views? Also how long has it been up. What is the reputation (safety) of the domain name? There are other variables of course, but generally when looking buy an already in use domain those are the things you want to look at. The market doesn't have a way of telling how many users are scam accounts. There is no immediate financial advantage in trying to boot or block scammers as every time they connect your page view and visitor counts jump up.

Here is an example of a market value indicator for a website you might use for research if you were trying to buy an already existing domain..

Scroll down to daily visitors. That includes every time a scammer visits. Daily visitors give you an indicator as to how many times an ad displayed on that sight might be seen. That helps set the price those writing the ads will pay you to show it on your website. Countries with large populations are a good place to promote your website. Some countries restrict what kind of websites their people can view, so you want to pick carefully. Some ads are a waste of time to show in some countries where the populace has no chance of buying the product. The Ad boys have their own analytics system and they will look at where the IP addresses of your site's visitors are located. It is called Traffic Analysis. similarweb.com/website/connectingsingles.com/#geography shows us 23% here last month were from Sweden while 12% were from the US and another 12% from Israel. That tells the buyer an ad in Hebrew would be just as effective as one in English. Wait, 18.9% were in the UK and 6% were in Australia. Maybe English ads would be best. This site got 665,000 visits in June, but pof.com had 18.2 Million. Ouch.
One should also look at dating site software for share. Almost all of the software for dating sites comes with pre-bundled in bogus accounts with photos of beautiful people and fake profiles. The more expensive software packages have Active X routines that let a bogus not existing user respond to an email from a new mark who logs on and thinks the boy or girl is real. Some have 4 or 5 possible responses they send back. This sets a hook in the mark and they often pay for more membership so they can keep writing the imaginary date. After 4 or 5 emails they will stop responding to that user of course, but the other fake accounts will. Some of the software packages come with as many as 5,000 totally bogus account profiles. One package even advertises the 3rd time the new user writes the fake account the fake account will send back a lewd photo and claim they really like them and might want to meet them. Of course in email 5 the account goes dead to that user. The software packages allow users to pay with most major credit cards or PayPal to keep the accounts going.
Tinder, Twitch and Instagram are more conducive these days to really fast hook ups without strings and most young folk know that. Commercial dating site software is more targeted to the past 36 crowd endlessly looking for a youngster.who would be interested in dating a fossil. If you find one and she/he is real, please consider their motives and possible mental state. Things have to be really bad where they are to consider moving to hook up with an old geezer. Unless they smell easy money. LoL
My thoughts on this are different...The women take one look at the stuff in the blogs and threads and think, see ya wouldn’t wanna be ya...banana
Old white guy preying on poor third world natives to carry on his lineage.
How sad,

From Reddit
"

Older white men tend seek younger Pinays because they believe they are “submissive” due to their current living situation. It’s all good and fun until you arrive in the states and he takes away your green card, forces you to cook/clean, not to contact your family back home, or he’ll threaten to send you back etc. Just my 2cents as Filipino/American. Not all are like this but be wary."

The issue here is that most of those men are specifically targeting young women who are in vulnerable positions. It’s predatory in every sense of the word. They specifically seek out young women who also don’t have a lot. They can go for women their age who are more established, those who have been separated, or has had a spouse pass away, but they don’t. What does a middle aged man have in common with someone whose life experiences still predominantly come from their time in school? Most of those men have children too, and the children are around the same age as the people they’re going after romantically. Would you feel comfortable if you found out your dad sexualizes people your age? Who knows how long he’s had that desire. Asian women usually look younger than their western counterparts too, so you might be 25 but look 17 in their eyes. It’s disgusting. Also, I recognize that you’re looking for better circumstances, but that’s what your education and hard work are for. There’s a reason most of these men are single at their old age and it’s never flattering. It might work out for you, but you should also look into the abuse that women face once they’re brought to the man’s home country, the domestic violence rates are high and so are the financial abuse cases. He might be rich and handsome, but his actions still align with those of a predator.

I think this is more of an exploitation older men sees young pinay women as a way to escape and save themselves from being sent to home for the aged. Some young pinay women sees the so called afams as as goldmine to lift themselves from poverty. It could be they deserve the future they chose acting like a caregiver but I also hope one day they will realize their worth and stop using people to climb the ladder. Harsh man anyway both deserve each other except for people who were forced by their parents but that's another story.

I’ve actually asked that question to a few old gross white men. Here’s the gist of what the pigs say:

Control. Filipino women rarely answers back or fight back.

Dutiful. They do what they are told to do.

Good housekeepers. Keeps the house clean, cooks, and take care of the kids.

Some of them don’t even want their wives to work. I feel that it’s because if their wives work, they’ll meet friends or other people and they’ll be “brain-washed” into the truth."

I ofren engage wiuth the scammers when I am bored. I have had several admit they are full of BS in their profiles. Some are in Europe, some in the Balkans and Pakistan, only a few this year seem to really be in Africa. Once they make some admissions to their lies I sometimes have some good chats with them. It helps a lot getitng at the truth when they claim to be in a town nearby or in which I have friends that will go check an address for me. Absolutely amazing to me how many of them claim to be in Ashburn VA or Los Angeles or NYC or DC. I have chatted / interrogated / interviewed so many of the CS scammers I hardly ever get emails from them anymore. LoL
There were dozens of Chinese women on the MD site and most of the profiles read the same. It happens they were all monitored by the same matchmaker service who employed college students doing the translations. I was told they had to be careful as it was unlawful to be a paid matchmaker then.
Utah pops up a lot.
I ask questions about the other towns in the area and they disappear.
Honestly Dates in Asia has the hardest working scammers.
One of the best was this really nice teacher. Like three days of exchanging mails before she asked for donations for the school she works for.
Sure I believe that.
Just one single proper con artist would be worth the time spent.
No quick catch they are gone.
Crappy work ethic.
