It's not actually worth $739 million...

Trump has a (special) way of placing value on his properties. He valued Mar-a-Lago at $739 million. In today's market, it could actually be worth less than $40 million.
So how does he justify a value of $739 million?
Potential... future potential. It's not worth that now... but some time in the future it will be valued at that number.
My suggestion is go with it... reassess the property value to what he says and make him pay taxes accordingly !!
That should fix everything.

In other news, Trump's business fraud case isn't going so well for him.

The judge fined Trump’s lawyers $7,500 each for repeating arguments he had previously dismissed. C'mon guys... don't you remember what you say and do in a court of law?

While many of the Trump corporations are being blocked from doing business in the state of New York, The court has appointed a former judge to monitor their assets and any creation of new entities or transfers. Basically... they're on to you!

Trump would scream fake news if they assessed taxes based on his own imagined property valuations.
He also received a reduction in taxes for setting aside an area for nature that would never be built on, but assessed Mar-a-Largo's future potential value in terms of all of it being available for development.

And contrary to his claims that Judge Engoron erroneously and stupidly valued the property at $18M, that value was one of the figures stated in Trump's own documents.
And yet some people admire and even worship this alleged criminal, they think someone who has lied continuously when in business, is a suitable leader for the world's most powerful country.

It would be laughable if it wasn't so terrifyingly true.
Jared Moskowitz, made the request of Palm Beach County appraiser asked Palm Beach County, Florida, to tax Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort property at a rate in accordance with the valuation the former president claims it has.

thumbs up

I know that I can google it but I actually hate googling after I found out it's CIA controlled.laugh
What and how many properties does Trump own, or is it the property and the established business on it that's in dispute?
It's difficult to evaluate a business as today it might be bordering on bankruptcy and with the right jockey in the saddle it will turn into a billion dollar business. dunno
Oops.

The cat's out of the bag now, eh?

Although I suppose the value of his properties may start to change, depending on how Trump's financial position changes, or who is overseeing sales to generate cash for engorgement and liability expenses.

Will there be investors willing to pay over the odds for the brand, or will investors want to take advantage of Trump's desperate situation?

Certainly, anyone monitoring the dissolution of Trump's assets will only be concerned with meeting legal penalties, not Trump's needs, wants and comfort.
So, would the 3% Save Our Homes exemption...safe Trump from higher assessments?

What is the 'Save Our Homes' law? 'Save our Homes' is an amendment to the Florida constitution that took effect in 1995. It limits the annual increase in the assessed value of homesteaded properties to 3% or the change in the National Consumer Price Index (CPI), whichever is less.

I know when I sold my home three years ago, that exemption applied to my new home...

I am paying less in real estate taxes than my neighbors who just moved to Florida...
Globally? I'd have to Google that for an answer... laugh

Mar-a-Lago is a country club. It was NOT his residence.
Going from memory, before Trump was president, contractually he was only allowed to stay there a few weeks a year. This was an issue as he was there much longer.
I think he got around that because he was 'hired' and provided a place to stay as staff. His situation changed and it didn't come up in the news.

Logically, it's hard to get an exact value on Mar-a-Lago, but claiming more than 10 times is a bit much. He's creating a unstable and inflated market. Good for the property value of the existing residents planning to sell, bad for people shopping there to buy.
If it still has homestead exemption...it would qualify for it...

I have to say Chat...if, he has to pay more in taxes...will it make you happy...

Good Lord, seems like those who hate him..

Get off on his... legal issues...

Anyways...just thought I would put it out there..of why, people who have lived in Florida for years get a break on taxes...

It has saved many homes for those on the beaches in my area..who just had little homes..on the water..

I kinda feel sorry for you..that you have to post about his legal. issues..day after day...
The country club Mar-a-Lago is a business and probably falls under different tax laws.

Don't feel sorry for me... look at the news.
He created this all by himself, I had no part of it. I think of all the people he stepped on along the way. Small business subcontractors who wen under when Trump refused to pay them for the work they did on his projects.
Doesn't that make you sick hearing about it?
Aside from a lawsuit for running a corrupt business... Trump may go down in history as the world's greatest con man.

One man did this.
The top story last night was he's believed to have shared our classified nuclear sub secrets with a foreign national billionaire.
I'm sure you've already heard the audio of him showing someone documents, stating they were classified and since he's no longer president, unable to declassify them.

By definition, that's a traitor.

I find it frightening that all the investigations about him and his corporations found so much corruption. Look at all the interviews by his once attorney Michael Cohen saying under oath.

His empire is falling like dominoes.
As an American, I'm embarrassed this happened to America.
What happens, will happen...

You and I have no control over it...

But, it is quite obvious..with some of you it is personal...

Kinda like, getting even...

Anyways, have a good day..
I am more embarrassed by the actions of those on both sides...

Unwilling to govern for the people...because of their big egos....That is what politics is now..Power on both sides.

Putting illegal immigrants in the neighborhoods with those who have less...taking away the little that they do have...

Putting the rights of those who commit violent crimes, over those who are just walking down the street to work...
laugh
Love ya!
I'm just reporting the news...

applause
Agreed. How do we fix it?
Trump is an embarrassment to the whole Western World.
I am not sure we can fix it..

But, making Donald Trump bankrupt and sitting in jail will not fix it..

Nor, will Hunter or Joe Biden going bankrupt or sitting in jail fix it...

I think a good start would be to completely stop lobbyism...stop the big bills that are passed with all the pork spending...

Balance the budget....

Get rid of the no cash bail..in the cities that seem to think this I good for it’s citizens..
We cannot fix it.
Look what happened when we sent someone to Washington to drain the swamp?
I think the only way it will be fixed is when the people vote them out for good...

Both parties have too much control...meaning the DNC and RNC...

In reality, they are choosing for us....

You are so obsessed with Trump...and, the obsession is on both sides..those who like and don’t like him...

Everything else that could help our country gets lost...

Like I have said many times....it is like a divorce...which is bitter and makes the children miserable...

You gave no ideas on how to fix it...

Laters...

Gotta go grocery shopping...
I tried that... I didn't vote for Ron DeSantis and he's more powerful now.
He changed the law to guarantee his position as governor should he not get nominated in the Republican Primary. All the people around him were appointed by him.
His vendetta with Disney is a knife in the back of Florida tourism and the tax dollars vital to the area.
How do we fix that?

I'm headed to work.. ~~ later
You had, and have some control over it.

It's called your vote.

Apathy is not an option for US voters right now.

And yes, it is personal to me and personal to you.

People's lives are dependent on the outcome of your shit show, especially since Trump made that 'poisning the blood of the US' comment, repeating Hitler's own words almost verbatim.

The outcome will effect the whole world, just as Hitler's eugenicist beliefs did, if you get this moment in time as wrong as Germany did a hundred years ago.

Might I remind you that a lot of gay and transgender people were tortured and murdered by the Nazi regime and anti-LGBTQ+ is on the MAGA agenda as demonstrated By Marjorie Taylor Greenes social media post just hours ago supporting Trump, and only Trump, for the House speaker role.

The rest of the world is relying on you and the power of your vote, Gone.
You know Jac...Just because my son is gay...does not mean that he agrees with all the the LGBTQ+ agenda...

Which in many ways has hurt women...by having men compete in woman’s sports...

Also, he does not believe in equity...but he does believe in equality...

Since he has moved to the Seattle area, he has seen what very left leaning politicians have done to the city...Walking around poop on the sidewalks, with tent cities in front of businesses....

He has good ethic and is able to make a good living from hard work...and furthering his education..on his merits...

This is the you tube video he sent to me this morning...

Laughing his butt off about women who want a loser for a partner...and the poor teacher (mother) who doesn’t kick her children’s butts out for being freeloaders...

You stereotype people so much..

I am not sure he would win reelection if the election would be now..He was riding on the high of Hurricane Ian at the time....

I have said before, I felt duped because he said he was not changing the laws on legal abortions.
Is a blog coming soon about sharing classified information regarding America's nukes with Australian billionaire Pratt as well as 45 others coming soon?
Already covered. See comment #11 thumbs up
Where did I stereotype your son?

I'm not interested in your son's beliefs, or opinions, nor did I say I was.

When you have a former president campaigning for office again, saying things about 'poisoning the blood of our country' as Hitler did, it would be prudent to question whose life is in danger if he, and his violent rhetoric are not stopped.

When they dragged the emaciated, vomit-covered, shaven-headed bodies out of the gas chambers, how could you tell which ones were at one time nobility, or living rough in front businesses? Which ones parented this way, or that? Which ones chose one partner over another?
Yes I see thumbs up

I thought because you usually like your blogs to stay on topic it was all about lying about ones worth when it comes to property Seen that this is about all sorts of sprinkles I'm putting this video here as this bloke is always spot on I like his channel thumbs up

We're past that now... laugh
Thanks for the explanation thumbs up
It's not about Trump per see, it is about justice being done and seen to be done, there are too many ultra-rich people who think they are above the law, making an example of Trump will perhaps make others think twice before they too use false statements and blatant lies to get richer.

Many people think these court cases are purely political, that is a fallacy, it is mainly about bringing justice and convicting a criminal.

Only the Trump cultists believe the indictments are lies, the rest of the world sees a criminal being brought to justice.
In his deposition in the civil fraud case he refers to Mar-a-Largo as his home in a rambling, prepared statement complaining about the FBI raid and Letitia James' corruption.

If he has claimed Mar-a-Largo is a business for tax purposes, but refers to it as his home (not his part-time employment lodgings), then even when he has time to think and is under the supervision of his attorney, he hands over evidence of his fraudulent wheeing and dealing.
I would suggest that this is more evidence pointing to Trump's inability to listen to those who know better than himself.

A good leader surrounds himself with experts, not "yes" men.
There is one good thing thouuu Riz,
that would never in a million years strike you:

By being this way he maks himself transparent to the voters.
Meaning true and real- Not slick and lieful like so many before him.
And that is what people wanted by electing him!

Ever heard of a "protest vote"- does that mean something to you, do you get the concept?
I understand that you believe America is wonderful the way it was before and is now after Trump too, cos you see no problem...But not all americans agree with you. That is why Trump is still dong well in polls despite all this fuzz.
You figure it out.
Welcome to the dark side laugh
I neglected to tell you...that the video was sent to him by a co-worker..RN who is a woman and black...and, she was laughing her butt off...

But, I knew you would call it racist...and, woman bashing...

I wonder why..all those women donated PTO hours to him when he had a bad injury and couldn’t work...so, he lost no income..

Many of those women were of color...I guess because he is so racist...and hates women...
Where did I say the video, or your son were racist?

Where does it say that all oppressed people are fully cognisant of, and are experts in all the gross and nuanced aspects of their own oppression all the time?
No winner here.
Ladies, have you said enough?
Yup, until the next time Gone accuses me of saying something I didn't.

'Racist' isn't a word I bandy about. I'm particular about that.

I go to a lot of effort to explore issues of discrimination without labelling, or suggesting a behaviour is synonymous with identity.
Hmm..

Your condescending remarks have been noted...like I was lucky to have a big strong husband to defend me to a former boss...You implied I could not defend myself...

Or...your rush to judgement that I live in a HOA community so your imply that I am a snob...

I will not reply to you again...

Sorry Chat...

I am over her playing the innocent one
