Connecting Singles

What are we doing here? Why are we here? Do we actually find love here? View profile, read summary and description, maybe get a like, a "hi there", and then...nothing? What?

Is this site really where singles connect, or is it just an admission that online dating is a joke, or are we just here because everyone else that we know is living their lives and having families of their own and this is just how we can connect, by doing the same thing we do on Facebook and Twitter (or X)?

Are we even connecting, or just reacting?

We are here for numerous and varied reasons. You get what you put in but cs is for profit as an advertising agency. Look at all the popups too, unless you have a blocker on your digital deviceā€¦.
It depends on your personality and theirs. In a decade here I have made several friends of the other sex. I know their phone numbersm emails and addresses, they know mine. I have video chatted with many of them. Absolutely if they knocked on my door I would let them in. I believe the opposite is true too. Sadly until new software is installed the planetary teleport system seems to be down. This means to knock on the door of someone 10,000+ miles away I would need a few thousand dollars just for the plane ticket, go through the Visa dances, get a new passport, And spend 2 days traveling by air just to spend 20 minutes on a cup of coffee somewhere. Then another two days to get back home at a cost of another $1,500 or so.

Then those silly endless debriefing sessions with FBI and CIA, etc. Did you take any photos of defense establishments of government buildings? How thorough were the Customs officials? Did they have dogs smelling the luggage? Did you see any military vehicles or aircraft? What types and models? Were you followed about in town? Did you find any listening devices in your hotel room? Which government officials did you meet and what was discussed? Was your rental car bugged? (Always a probably.) Do you suspect a government employee or anyone tried to lure you into a compromising act? Did you do anything on that visit you could be blackmailed about? Did anyone ask you to deliver messages or packages to someone else? What financial transactions did you participate in while outside the US? Were you asked about America's (or NATO's) defense plans or weapons during casual conversation? May we have the password to your phone and your tablet so we can examine them? And on and on. <I got so tired of those last time my passport expired, I left it expired. >

It is probably best for the women I speak with here to just slip across the Rio Grande with everyone else and come on by. I won't tell anyone she is here and we should be good for at least a decade before anyone figures it out. Much easier and cheaper than the Fiance Visa dance.wine
Don't take the site too serious. Have some fun with it.

You may meet someone...you never know. Good luckhandshake
Correcting Simples

Could it work??
It's a chat room for me ,nothing more ,nothing less and I enjoy meeting people from all corners of the World. I can come and go as I please ,take breaks and come back to the same people. Almost like having another family on line.cheering

.let's keep our eYe on the wall..
One way to get talking is to respond to comments on blogs you have raised. Not connecting, not reacting, not going to get anywhere. dunno

Some find love. Que sera, sera.

Some find a temporary facsimile, don't knock it, bit of a buzz is better than no buzz at all.

Online dating is just another way of meeting people but if you are flawed and / or the people you meet are flawed, and your flaws don't match up, it will be no more succesful than meeting in real life. It widens the options but also the pool of deadbeats and losers who have never and will never be able to create enduring relationships. Oh, and there are more scammers than most of us will meet in real life.

cool
Used to connect with people, now couldn't be arsed, so treat it like any other social media site, as do many others.
We are here because cs is free
It's a medium of communication.

As with any conversation it can be superficial, or not.
Its no different than going to a used car dealership. People and cars come in all sizes colors and shapes. Many have much mileage some not so much. They all come with something wrong with them under the hood and a dating site like this is not going to screen out who has what going on. Instead everyone here has to market themselves based upon their own perception of self.
We sell an idea that we are a suitable ride for someone out there. Chances are 89% of the population is not going anywhere and still loitering around on the lot rusting away. The more we sit the older we get the less desirable we get.

So, set your expectations low to avoid disappointment. Our chances of getting any real relationship going in person is slim to none. Unless people have a couple thousand bucks laying around to run off to Europe or Asia or to any state in America our chances of hooking up are slim.

Many here have become jaded and apathetic and sold out to writing blogs as a form of entertainment. So, just go with the flow and watch for the scammers as it's a haven for them here.
As some pointed out it's a free site hence, anything free has no value intrinsic or otherwise. Nobody has no monetary or emotional investment so they are not going to put much effort into what they seek. professor
Maybe it's not money that makes people jaded and dispassionate, but being likened to an old banger. laugh
