Tonight.

At work tonight my boss came up to me and told me there was a phone call for me. Fearing the worst, thinking my son had been in an accident I picked up the phone only to have some guy asking me to go to the cinema. I asked him who he was, he told me his name. I didn't recognize him and then he said we had met on holiday. At that point I hung up. I never go away on holidays, I stay at home and relax. I was so relieved that the call hadn't been about my son but spent the rest of my shift wondering how this guy had got my name. The phone number he could have looked up in the phone book or on the internet. Then talking to a friend at the bus stop tonight about this my friend pointed out that the guy could have been a customer and could have overheard a colleague call me by name. Makes sense.

And walk right into a trap?
Maybe HE was on holiday when he met you. dunno
You could have asked for HIS phone number to get
back to him about it.
that he asked for you by name, is not good, this man you could never have met, unless he met you when he was on holidays in your home town Brighton, i think this might be what was his meaning, but if not, strange indeed, be careful, Sweetkitten, i know you are a big girl, but this world, is not a place for the innocent.
Especially when you are wearing 'bright white' .. and look like a Goddess .. adorable LIVEINHOPE!

Trust Dim to come up with an answer like that! (Only 'he' could.)

While this was a little worrying comfort the caller may have been someone you knew from long ago and did meet on holiday.. dunno Just a thought. Also, your phone at work may have caller-display, so if it does you could request the police or your manager to investigate further.. wink Main thing is you and your son are fine.. cool
@ Yash.....did you see my Victoria Secret thread?
I didn't think about it could have been him on holiday. I only know two guys by the name he gave me. One is 3 years older than my son and is currently in Cornwall visiting his girlfriend. The other is a local retired businessman and having known him for 10 years I know he would have approached me face to face on something like this. Unless it's the site and after a few e mails I will never agree to a date over the phone anyway. If it's a customer I prefer that he asks me face to face. Part of my job involves talking to the customers and a couple of my former colleagues have met their partners this way. I will take care. If I'm meeting someone for the first time I usually choose either my work place or the pub. In the pub I'm known because unless, like tonight, I finish my shift late I'm in there nearly every night and the staff don't have to ask me what I want to drink because I have the same every time I'm in there.
Yash ..(If I may be so bold?) I never thought about Caller Display. An excellent idea! Montecito (?) .. forgive my
intrusion .. but 'what' was your Secret Victoria thread
about? (I am a history buff.)
The last time I was away on holiday Yash was 36 years ago when I was 18. Since then I've been married twice, had one live in partner, 2 children and have lost count of how many pets I've had over the years. At one point we had over 20 pets at the same time. When I was on holiday all those years ago I kept myself to myself and just basically visited the local shops. I met my first husband through a pen pal club I belonged to, my second husband through the contact ads and my son's father through working in a hotel.
Wow .. you have led a chequered life, Sweetkitten4! (And I like your candour too.)
MONTECITO .. Uh um .. How (or rather 'where') can one do that?
Details .. please?
And thank you for that other consideration. Much appreciated!
The Google Person Finder thing you mentioned has piqued my interest too. Details and directions appreciated. Thank you.

In the blogs many people inter-blog by using someone else's line. I have seen (and read your own blog replies to) other people tagged into the lines of other bloggers.

It is an essential way to communicate among the membership, other than off blog emailing with them (which also happens)!

I have always been polite and civil towards you, have even
tried to be friendly too. You will always be welcome (d) to
participate in/on my blogs.

Have a good day, my candid colleague and fellow member!
