It's actually the country's birthday, not mine.
No fireworks... just messages to send with couriers to try to get a fledgling nation into the same frame of mind.
236 years ... different stages of functional and dysfunctional along the way ...
I have my own small role tonight... we're on stage at 7:30 ... another band a 9 ... fireworks at 10:15 ... They are expecting a crowd of 10,000 for the downtown celebration ... I would guess about 1/2 that for our performance... should be incredible!
I'm sure the emotions were quite mixed
at attempting independence from the king.
