Major cause of marriage breakdown revealed ...

A report this week has highlighted what has to be the most significant cause of relationship breakdown yet discovered, the report by The Grumpy Shed Owners Assoc. states that the lack of a garden shed is driving both men & women to drink, drug abuse, extramarital affairs & in some extreme cases to murder, all for the lack of a modest garden shed, available in all shapes, sizes & styles there is one to suit every budget, a haven away from the hustle & bustle of everyday life, a place to relax & let the world slip by, storage for that collection of old Playboy\Playgirl mags, space for that hobby you've always talked of taking up but never quite got round to, so what are you waiting for, remember the slogan of the Grumpy Shed Owners Assoc. " If you want to get ahead, get a shed"

Don't forget to sign up for the associations weekly newsletter, which this week features on page 3 " Readers Sheds"

Hi Z,

You think one could arrange for separate sheds for spouses; with customized toilets seats.
laugh
Maybe they should change their PR manager Z uh oh
Cat, indeed that has to be the ultimate scenario, it's not uncommon for couples who've married for a while to have separate sheds laugh rolling on the floor laughing laugh
KN, I'm the founder member banana in fact the only member at present crying but yes once the world wakes up to the problem I can see the Grumpy Shed Owner site being a rival for the likes of Facebook professor thumbs up
I think the name `grumpy` is not right it should be `The happy shed ownner`s assoc.professor
But India, a shed is such an ideal place to be grumpy in peace, away from all stresses of life that made you grumpy in the first place, you can re-emerge into the world refreshed & in good spirits banana wave
Zman,
i would nearly have to dispute the findings my friend.
As a man who has a "shed" Hanging over the "tool box" hasnt kept me in any serious relationship....dunno

laugh I can believe this! When my brother bought a new house several years ago, first thing he did was to make the shed his haven. He actually put amenities in there ( A shower and toilet) and he has been happy ever since.
Here's a picture of me decorating my sacred space cheers

Hi Zman,
Love it! Good blog thanks for the advice. rolling on the floor laughing

what is the difference of RATE and average numbers ???rolling on the floor laughing somebody was trying to convince me that he is the witness of all failed marriage in the world... but he didn't explain about RATE...he only explained about several failed (numbers he heard or saw) ... 5 people failed between 10000 people not failed... I'd rather join the 10000... How funny ???rolling on the floor laughing
Abagail, just goes to show how vital they are, we're just waiting for the World Health Organisation's report to come out, they will probably recommend diverting government funds to subsidise shed building for the emerging nations, after all one can't have a thriving economy & healthy population if shed ownership is low per capita professor thumbs up wave
Non, I see you've gone for stone effect, very "In" this year, have you considered sending pictures to Vogue dunno thumbs up wine
laugh Z, I can see how this could become an issue. Perhaps at the beauty pageants ... the catch cry could be changed from, " ... and I wish for World Peace"... to " I wish for every man to have his own shed".
Bajanshay, you're very welcome, do post pictures if you have you're own shed banana wave
Cyn, looking at the results published in your link I think the answer is clear, India must have a lot of sheds giving them the edge over Sri Lanka thumbs up wave
Abagail, that would make a great headline for the next newsletter, perhaps you could write an article for it dunno thumbs up wine
that's it, i'm getting a shed of my own to save my marriage innocent
June, yes comes highly recommended by the Marriage Guidance Council & the Institute For Mental Health thumbs up wine wave
i know z, a shed is kinda necessary if you're working towards longevity. cheering
Non, we have locally a famous restorer of wall paintings if you need help, this is an example of her work restoring a painting of Christ. uh oh

June, in order for ones marriage to last it's vital to make sure your shed lasts as long as possible, I recommend a good coat of Creosote every couple of years, it's good for wood & makes it last longer & that's always important in a marriage I feel.professor wink wave
Hi all kiss

Shed...ooops...uh oh

What's that smell?...creosote?...

mumblingPhew what smell...

So shed...confused

And if I'm alone I need a shed?dunno
Fot, sheds are important for all, even if you're on your own, as you step through the door you enter a different world where everyday worries can be forgotten & a relaxing hobby can be enjoyed professor wine wave
