Location Location Location.
This an old & well worn phrase in the UK normally to do with property , it should really be finished with Cost Cost Cost because that's what it's referring to in reality, the premise is the same house will have a widely varying price tag depending on where it is, as an example a two bedroom flat in Knightsbridge London could cost between 3 & 8 million pounds ( 5 to 13 million dollars US ) whereas a couple of hundred miles away a similar flat in Hull NE. England would work out around £150,000 ( $252,000 ) , here in Spain property prices have done nothing but go down since the economy took a nosedive & that same flat in Motril would come in at a little less than the one in Hull, it's a shame I can't buy a place in Motril & stick it in Knightsbridge That would do me for the rest of my life This led me to wonder about prices in other parts of the world, what better way to find out than blog about it on CS & get members to fill in the gaps of my property price knowledgeBy the way if you fancy an all singing all dancing house in Knightsbridge you'd better have around a £100 million handy

Sounds to me! You should move out of that country. To a much cheaper country....
I'm saddened by UK house prices, as you say the young have no chance of getting started on the ladder at those prices
Take that to the most beautiful view in the Philippines or Mexico and it is $40 thousand dollars..
Same thing in Sydney, Karabilli price is ten times that of the darling harbor location, yet it is not even a mile apart.
Now as for the rest of the world, I know that it works the same way.
The value of any property is factored by the location, weather, and the neighborhood, as well as the view..
.............
Sorry if you want to be back in uk but cant get back. that is sad but there again you never know what is around corner you could win lottery or meet rich young bird or sumthin
You see, the closer you are in the CENTER OF THE CITY San, Francisco, the higher the price. And it is all because of the time to get there.
Inherently and very innate on the traffic factor. The rich and elite refuse every means to widen Hwy 101, which is jammed by about unspeakable parking lot of cars, getting to the city in the morning and going home in the evening. So where it takes about 1 hour per 20 miles northbound after 5 o'clock, the further you are, the long it takes to reach your home north.
Now when it is no traffic with only 50 miles, it will take me half hour to drive in and out. Which I used to do when I live up in the Northbay, but go to work in the city three times a week.
Weather has nothing indeed to do with it. Same thing in Sydney and Philippines example. I just took it because I thought international wise, there is a difference in the way it is priced per weather. Then maybe I am wrong.
They only wear suits here in winter, mind we don't normally get huge waves here anyway so it's mainly windsurfing in winter.
Now comes my story. I bought a channel and Louis Vitton bag in Italy in the early part of 80s.
I saw the price on the Vintage website for $5,000.00 dollars and I must have paid only $300 hundred dollars then. Exact same bag, it even says, what year it was made. (Used). The argument is because the material and the design is not ever made again. Nor will it ever be. San Francisco Levis, just paid $200,000. ON A PAIR OF JEANS MADE IN THE 1800.
My children already have names of them on each of these bags, which at my current life, now, don't mean a thing. Simplicity is my life now Z. Thanks to the economic bubble.
I would love to move to a sunnier climate... alas, I have some health issues and am near hospitals here [sounds very geriatric] but its the truth. ~ However , If I thought I could rent an apartment for a reasonable price in say, Spain, I would love to spend the Winter months there. The lack of sun is depressing.
There are great bargains to be had in Wales and up towards Manchester but again, its a matter of location, location, location.
And Oprah buying a %$40,000 dollars Hermes bag Z?
Tell me about it. At least I didn't do it to compete Z, even as it seems natural, just the urge of wanting the best. Yet today, what a joke Z with the 7 billion starving many..
I apologize to no one Z but myself and yet quite a lesson learned..As I am now living dirt poor..
The good thing about it, is that all my suits and clothes are still like new even after 35 years and I can still fit in them so good, and I can't sell it as there is hardly anyone who will fit them..other than me.
We should create a blog about "stupid bought out commercialism" GG yet the truth is, they are truly of good quality and craft is of prime design..
Sorry Z.
The situation is very much the same here. In an old area like Parow you can pick up an old 2 bedroom house needing lot's of attention for around R750,000 (US$75,000) while a newer 3 bedroom job will set you back R2,000,000 (US$200,000). If you go 3 or 4 km from there to Plattekloof you will get the same house for triple the price. In Clifton you can expect to pay R80,000,000 (US$8,000,000) for it.
I am now teaching my children to cope out themselves with this high trend values Z. And they are listening..
Thanks to my experience..
Great blog Z.
Plus I think from my genes my parents has more Spanish Italian blood than the original Malay Filipino and my Grand mother from my mom was pure Spaniard with blue eyes and white skin. Passed away at 103 years old taking care of children three days before she died and her memory and attention was in perfect shape.
She wouldn't eat a vegetable unless it is harvested in her organic garden. No fish unless jumping and alive when cooked and raised her own cow and pig for food.
But anyways. Yes, I have not changed at all with my size and I am so glad and happy GG.
My love right now was a professional athlete with no drugs and just as healthy (14 years younger than me) and coach even better now on the abs and the rips...
